McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

i tried to flower with my t5 but i got worried about yeild and put in my 400 it was my scrog, the uk growers regularly bust 1gpw with t5s in scrog by keeping the canopy uber managed and using a mix of colors (all i have is 6500k) funny thing is i got a bigger yeild off the 400 4 plant scrog than i did the 600 6 plants grown with just topping and lst, ,i might be able to lend you my 400 watt system mcloadie if you really need it, i have no prob helping my 420 brothers

Thanks bro, let's give it a minute and see what the grow store comes up with.

This is what I came up with, I put one of the plants in with the plants that are finishing, the other 4.....f'n bathtub! Day 1 flower! I'll be startin the flowering with two plants under the induction light, and 4 under the t5 with just std. vegging bulbs, I have no choice.

Nice little jungle you got going there Mc! Keep it up.

what kind of temps is your room running now you might be able to hang and use the light without the duct work just have the fan hooked to the hood so it dont build up and it helps to move air just may need to keep you light a little higher off the girls until you get your duct work figured thats how I worked it gave me a more visual approach of what would work easiest in my space it did raise my temps about 7 degrees at the canopy with my 600 2 ft off the ladies put me at a scary 87 from 80 but I also dont have ac in the room where the air exchange is YET building as I grow doing what I can but it helped me anyhow

OK, As cnd suggested, I have the fan like this on the light, this light runs way cooler like this than my 600w+t5, I hooked it all up to make sure it works.....the exhaust was surprisingly cool to me, that light is bright as hell!, it takes a minute or two to warm up....but it seems to be working properly. IF this looks ok wiz, I'll run it like this and see what the temps do, if I have to I will vent it into a cavity in the wall. This place seems like it was built by monkeys.....I have a wall that's 24" thick!

Thanks fishy!, I'm a drill bit away from havin the hps runnin, I hope I can manage the heat in the easiest way, when I hooked it up with the blower on it, it seemed to run cooler than the t5, but at this point the heat is gonna be goin right back in the room, we'll see what happens shortly! If I can get it goin right I'll run 3 plants under the indagro and three under the hps....different strains, but I only have two plants that I haven't grown yet and I pretty much know what I get with the induction light. The induction light needs to be really close to the plants............I've heard of people runnin em as close as 9", and I am sure that that would make a big difference from the mfgr's recommended 18". If this induction can't keep up with 600 watts of hps...well..........you know me...I'll raise hell with the co., and see if I can get my money back. As meticulous as I am I can and will make an unbiased determination now since I have an hps to compare it with....myself....

I have mixed feelings about this.
I hope it grows you girls like crazy. but I hate to think that it will do better than your induction lamp considering how much that thing cost next to the price of the HPS.
either way I hope you will be a happy camper :)

this is a fu*k yeah moment for me,heres why, i really wanted you to see how effin bright a 600 is, i call it the light of god! lol i had a feeling it would kick the inductions ass, sad tho cuz i want a cheaper way to get "the light of god" indoors but tech is not there yet, the main thing about the fan is that its pulling that heat away from hitting the ladies direct, it will bring up the room temp till you vent out, like a space heater it builds up over time, if you add ducting the noise will decrease alot, add a scrubber and even more, i suggest you get a scrubber on before the light, your gonna be shocked how dirty the inside of the light & fan will get in a short amount of time(a pain to clean) you can get that light alot closer to the gals after a few days of adjustment every few inches adds a few thousand lumens hitting them, and if the induction ppl are saying that light is equal to a big hps? no way its just a fancy flouresent light, nice it is, but the price i saw for the cheapest made my jaw drop, again its a fluro! cheap tech for decades i dont understand how a new way to fire them warrants the cost, and after watching you use it and be unsatisfied im really glad i got the new tent, cool tube and cloning supplies i did for less than the price of the induction i was looking at, what kept going thru my mind was "sounds to good to be true" i bet you could get more weight out of the equal amount of t5s $wise, and a scrog, but im just spitballing here, anyway glad you got the 600 im thinking you'll never look back and i think if you really want to then you should get your $ back and buy a nice jdl or whatever and more equip, i swear by t5s & hps for veg & flower cheap and highly effective, tried and true! :high-five::thumb::thumb:

It's all good fishy, we'll have a look at this, and see for ourselves how it goes....this time....LOL, I mean, the induction is what it is, it's 420 watts....I think it performs like that......just like jon with the leds, there's a learning curve that's gotta take place. Here's the skinny;........temps are steady at 84 degrees, a little higher than I prefer, but not unacceptable...............But I keep waitin for somethin ta taxi outta the bathroom and take off!......that blower is LOUD! Watered with plain water, with the exception of the yeti, I gave it a full dose of open sesame...the first time I ever gave a plant a full dose of anything!, these plants are strong, suckin up 6 cups a day. I don't want to increase the water til I get em all on stands.........I don't mind watering, and I have more control over diet.
