McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

getting my fill this weekend gonna stop for awhile gonna need to find another job in a couple months

I'm good chron, just chillin, and I go over and over.....makin sure I haven't forgotten something....the something that will take me up a notch. I need more room, more lights and fans, a patient just called me and I'm out of meds.

Well, here comes the issues, I have issues at this stage of growth every grow. I've tried most everything, but I may be understanding what's going on this time, and I'm going to try something different.....sorta. My tap water is loaded with calcium...I've always known this, and I've even used r/o water......but I always went back to the tap water because I didn't think it had an effect. This time Im going to shut my eyes and finish this run with r/o water and I'll start applying it to the clones. I KNOW I have good soil, I have taken steps to insure that all the micronutrients are there, ALL my fertilizers are full of mikos. The only thing left is the water, and, next time I start I'll add dolomitic lime before I pot plants.

They still look pretty good, but the lockout is always subtle at first.

I've been having a hard time keeping temps down in here, if I run all the lights the temp rises to 88 degrees. I try to get some time in the early morning to run all the lights while it's cool.

They look good and green to me. I experience the same thing through my grows but it is insignificant to me. I pay more attention to the leaves at the top and how they stand and the color. In organics it is ok to have a leave here and there do this. I wouldnt change it up too much mc, maybe mix half ro half tap to see if it helps a bit. Good weed to you buddy and hope you had a good labor day.

Thanks for the encouragement shotta, sometimes I feel like I'm close, and others a mile off track! I'll do exactly what you suggested...it sounds very reasonable. Another thing that's come to my attention is the fact that the water consumption seems to be much lower than jon 705's ten gallon lots, I know he's using different soil, but the difference is huge! I use much less water than he does, my rooms are well ventilated and have great circulation. I have changed my ideas on watering since I started growing the cannabis, especially in expensive organic soil. These new ideas were presented to me in the work of milo shammas, the owner of the dr earth company. I know I want my plants to have adequate water, and I know that if I want roots to fill the pot, then the whole soil mass needs to be moist. Shammas says to water the pots just enough.....he never mentions any runoff, and I have only one pot that has any runoff at an application of 7 cups liquid. I often wonder if my plants got more water they would be healthier, or can this difference be attributed to a lockout, and my plants aren't able to metabolize the water efficiently. I don't compete with anyone but myself, I work hard at this, it has to be something so simple that I'm missing....or I THINK I'm missing.

I like to give just enough water so that the plants have a light trickle coming out of the bottom but not so much that it pours out of the bottom. I like to water very slowly since I am using smartpots it is crucial to evenly wet not only the center but the water saturates the perimeter of the pot. I am giving mine 1/2 gallon every couple days or so. In the super soil I am running it is important to not over water but to also not let the medium go completely dry until late in flower. I also let the pots dry out once in veg a couple weeks before flip and re innoculate with mykos and micros. Honestly as long as those tops look vigorous and green dont worry about those piddly lower leaves they are there for the plant to use when its needed. If problems start occuring up top then there is another underlying issue present. but they look great to me and I see no issues that need fixing right now. I know you pour your heart and soul into every plant and I hope you achieve the greatness you desire.

cheers mc and have a great day

Everything is still not proper here:)
Thats OK though just checking in and waiting for something:) LOL always anyway:thumb:

I've worked so f'n hard on this project, only to probly kiss it goodbye.......

I found the lower branches all broke down like this...and the person who's supposed to be doing immediate care is f'ng with a battery charger.

From left to right is a mexikush, a yeti, and a superskunk. It looks like a full 1/3 of the yeti is wieghed down and bent over. A little rain and heavy fruit is a recipe for disaster.

Just some bud shots, a month to go...minimum!

I believe this will be the heaviest plant....it has loads of chunk....and worms!
015464.JPG
I noticed worms in the buds, and promptly ask for chemicals to spray with...9 days later.....no chemicals...the damage.....and they are there still....hundreds of them!

These plants have some chunk on em.........what a shame!

Don't matter, I know I can grow trees now.....no problem. I tried to keep this project on track......I got no cooperation. If you grow with someone, which is not unheard of...make sure you trust them to get it done correctly. There is no reason why this little grow shouldn't have given at least 10 lbs.....easy. It's not actually that bad for me, I wanted to test the genetics outdoors....and I got my test....the potential is absolutely there, for me AND the genetics!
