McLoadie's Third Grow Journal

I think that giant green calyx is sucking up all the nutrients!

Mcloadie - a while back there was a pic with a small plant of yours in a white pot. You put a fake skull on it (nice touch btw). You said, "anyone every use bonemeal?". I think that is what it was. It seemed you got serious responses. You were kidding though, when I read it I laughed a little amirite?

someone told me this is blight, and I did some further research and hes right.. just from two pictures he could tell what was happening to my crops. it start with the batch of beefsteak tomatoes i purchased. i will never use them again. god bless his soul. I just learned a lot about fungal blight and tomato viruss and bacterias.

I sprayed all my plants with a mix of baking soda, peroxide and water. do you think this will be enough to kill the disease?

Its funny how the jalapeno plant is the only one that's not effected at all. They also suggest a "hot pepper spray" for blight!

Yup blight had some earlier fixed it with a deep wash ,flush sprayed her down with a 1/2 cup cider vinegar in a gal water let it set 20 min rinsed it off then the gdp's/soda wash dry overnight, then I misted with a mix of my mykos tea with some molasses & liquid kelp miles is she say for a week then exploded with new growth,a heatwave she's now my biggest tomato plants I did cut off as much of the blight as possible ,that's my 2 nickles:high-five:

Boring...I know, just showin the progression.

I'm gonna cheat on my organics....sorry, but I never jump into a fight unless my brother is losin! I like this nutrient, it's very predictable, fast working, and it has the micronutrients I want....now!

I'm getting some yellowing down on the lowest leaves, maybe just that time, but the plants look like they could use a shot of N, I could use urine, but I want those micronutes too. This will be the one and only application of this product........it's the thing to do! I just want a run every now and then to go smoothly............

Thanks rico, this Nikon camera sucks, my last Fuji camera was bad ass!, but it got hot in the bags on the bike and I guess it fried it! I tried to upgrade with the Nikon...but it was a wayyyy downgrade!

Agree with you there, Mc. My new camera is a Nikon superzoom (26x)

That and the pixelcount (16MP) are the only things better than my old 5MP 10x Optical zoom Fuji.

Everything else about the fuji was superior.

That bottle looks organic enough :xmas:

Just a note, while my internet was down I was reading Cervantes. He was talking about containers and I came across an interesting portion, he stated that one can "run their finger around the perimeter of a std. nursery pot to seal the space where the soil meets the plastic to avoid the air pocket that forms between the pot and the soil as the soil dries and pulls away from the pot". This is the same way I was taught in school........not the pot or the soil per se, but the fact that if roots dry out.......even for a very short time they will die.....or air pruned....I was trained that air pruning was ALL BAD. If I have roots around the perimeter of the pot.....I feel like everything's good...........I don't want my plants spending energy....when the roots turn back in toward the center of the pot, if this actually happens.....which so far I see no evidence of this occurring, when using the smarties of course. I like a plain old black plastic nursery pot.....that's how we rolled commercially....it was the best method available.

Good morning weed MC, your girls are looking nice and are getting big. I have never looked it up but air pruning roots just doesn't sound like it should happen. Back in college getting light to the roots was a no no and the instructor didn't even want the roots to come out the bottom hole. He would look and say "time to repot and don't dilidally".

Anyway Happy Skunkday
