Mcloadie's Second Grow Journal

I'll outline the next phase of my perpetual grow.

I'm growing mexikush fem, and ch9 x pow33

Seeds and cuts started in happy frog, finished in dr. earth mmj soil

Dr. earth nutes, and anything else will be referred to as we go.

Roughly 3 x 5 foot area

420 watt induction lighting

Water is 7.0 and full of minerals

And of course all the fans and humidifiers required to keep the environment in check

Cheap, 2 gallon nursery pots

The house is cooled with evaporative coolers, windows and vents will be utilised to direct cool, moist air where needed.

An ounce per plant will give me 1gm/watt, I hope to double that as these are going to be twice the size ( at least ) of the last mexikush I grew and I got over 1 1/2 OZ off her....that's DRY. Day 1 flowering begins when they go under the induction lighting to a 12/12 photoperiod. I expect to finish in about 75-80 days from the flip. They're under t5 lighting now (24hrs), and are 1 month old, seeds and cuts.

Well, here we go, day 1 flower. The plants in the middle will be coming out when they're ready and I'll jockey the others around. I lowered the light a little, watch these plants blow up under this induction lighting!

Looking fantastic!! McLoadie thats a great way to keep a pretty small footprint.

:peace:

That's a nice looking garden there good sir. Is that light the biggest one they have?? I was looking into those induction lights. Very efficient and obviously they grow some awesome bud ;) :yummy: keep up the great work man!!! I love watching your grow journal!!!!!!

Keep it green mcloadie!!!

Thanks pluto, the people using it say it walks all over a thousand watt hps, that's the biggest one bro, but i saw a prototype getting ready to be released that has leds that come on before and after lights on and off that triggers a response from the plants. We'll see this grow, I'm not even using is full footprint by 10 square feet.

what is this induction lighting?

what is this induction lighting?

Induction lighting was invented in the early 1900s by nikolas tesla. It operates on the same principle as flourescent ( which it actually is ), differing in the fact that the gasses inside the bulb are excited externally, eliminating the need for a wire entering the bulb at some point, which will ultimately leak gas at some point in time, accounting for the longevity of induction, 10% or less light quality deterioration after ten years use.

ok so you must know how the Brooklyn Dodgers got their name.

ok then sit back and hear a true story. back when tesla and edison both had ideas on how to light new yourk they had differences on how current should be applied edison loved DC power where as tesla was all about AC power.
the problem with edison lighting the city with his DC power is that you needed many substations to spread the juice which also had a tendency to arc to what ever was the closest ground which could be a tree, house or animal. but they went with edison's grid anyway and also ran trolleys on the same DC power.
the folks around there learned that a buzz would sound when a trolly would come and prior to that a spike in tnhe power would come. and send an ark of electric to the closest grounding point. DC power bad!
anyway when the people of brooklyn NY would hear the buzz of the surge they ran away from the electric wires as fast as they could to keep from being a grounding point and then a french fry.
thus they were named the brooklyn dodgers and so the baseball team was named:)

Plants are posturing for the new light, they're gonna stretch for around 12 to 15 days. Internodal spacing 1-1-1/2 inches, if it's more I caused it on purpose, I raised the light after the second topping was completed on all the plants. This gives those first two branches a little stretch, which sets the stage for an open center configuration. They grow to the light and the nodes go back to 1-1-1/2 inches. These sites will "stack up" nicely, and God willing, I'm gonna do better than before, my only goal. :Namaste: Sex will be apparent in 7-10 days with the two cuts already showing because the mother was in flower when they were taken. These are supposed to be all females, I don't see any other reality, but if I was lucky enough to get a male I would cherish it like my 1911.

So when you felt the hair on the back of your neck stand up, it was time to jump out of the way? Nice early warning system. :)

Winner winner chicken dinner ding ding:)

Excellent fishy, now THAT is a worthy piece of trivia and history, I shared it with loadie as she was born in new york city and her mom, Unloadie, was born and raised there and quite often I will bait her into telling stories about new york, her childhood, and the TRUTH of it all. Plus reps fishy, AND I owe ya one! Loadies mom, unloadie was born in 1916, and is still a piss cutter, full of life, if I could just get her to........HEHE

Well you give loadie and unloadie big big hugs from me:)

I thought that was one of the coolest stories I ever heard
