Mcloadie's Second Grow Journal

Hey mcloadie have you done any research on True Living Organics. Since you are a soil grower I think you would really love it. There is a book out by The Rev that is amazing!! He is the one who brought this method of growing into the mainstream. And you learn a lot about the soil and how to give your lady's what they need when they need it. Well just a though. Keep it green man!!!

Alright, who was it that said I make big cuts?...LOL. Here are some tiny little cuts for you...LOL. These cuts will be rooted without a dome, under my walmart light.

If they're watered correctly the roots go straight out the bottom, I have no surface roots. You may be correct it takes a little longer for the roots to get through. The only ones I like better are those little walmart six pack pots, IDK why, but they work great, and nothins goin in the bigger pot at transplant but the plant. I know how the business works and all the fancy shit is expensive and unnecessary, like hookin a big suckerfish and reelin his ass in. In the old days bros never even used commercial nutes, I've seen em makin pickup loads of soil too, where I need to spend, I spend as much as required, other than that, I can get good results without the wallet suckers following me around, and keep a lower profile and footprint.
I know where you coming from about keeping
the grow price to the minimum. I used to use a
5 gallon paint bucket and some dirt dug up
out the yard but grew large plants outside.
Back then there were nutes but hell i wanted
buds not ferts in my smoke.

Right on wild bill, when the weed is pure it is a whole different substance. I have some stuff now that I flushed for 30 days, it's potent, but it makes me cough, I hate to cough!

Sub'd The girls in flower look great. I am not a fan of the peat pots as well used them and they would hinder some not all seedlings growth.

I am using the small 4inch squre plastic pots. I love them once I see roots coming out the bottom I let the soil dry and transplant only to a 1 liter pot and from there they go to 5 gallon gsmartpots. Plastic I feel is better since the soil dries out slower this way the peat actually will wick the moisture away from the grow medium.

I know you got it sorted though. Your plants look great man.

Thanks bro, if I didn't tend em all day they would die for sure, they do wick alot of water and will get transplanted pronto!

What's happening to seedlings? damping off?

I did my seeds in rockwool and had no probs. Those little babies sure are delicate! I'd start with the usual suspects, temp, rh, and ph.

They're actually not seedlings, they're 2-1/2"- 4", mostly squawty and stout. I transplanted 15 out of 1 gallon pots into the 2 gallon pots I'll finish em in. I was way curious to see what the roots looked like in the sick plants, they were perfectly healthy, none coming out the sides of the peat pot starters, they came straight out the bottom, so, as I prefer I have no roots in the top 3" of soil. I also got to dump the soil out of the pots that I just finished two plants in, ( empty soil bag LOL ) those roots were perfectly healthy also, wrapped loosely around the outside of the pot, not rootbound by any means, so I'm real confident that these 2 gallon pots are sufficient for my application. All in all, at least it made me feel better doing something positive for my little grow. Maybe these plants are getting burned by this hot soil.

Everything is within parameters, IDK WTF is goin on, maybe the transplant will help em, the roots were nice and white and lovely, that gives me hope they might not die. I have taken measures to replace their asses should they not recover. I hate f'ing with sickly ass plants, they are small enough that I won't even blink dumping em in the trash, they better shape up LOL! The soil mfgr says the soil is designed for 8-12" plants, and if ya put em in before that they will burn, but I never had any burn on seedlings, a little on rooted cuttings. Most plants this age are probly that big, but I push these babies down hard to get bushy ass plants with lots of leaves.

If anyone is interested, this is EXACTLY how I'm treating the plants in flower; 1tbsp/gal bloom food ( 4-10-7 ), worked into the top 3" of soil, watered in with 1 tbsp/gal blackstrap molasses, next watering, 1 tbsp/gal water blackstrap molasses, next watering, 4tbsp/gal water liquid concentrate ( 3-3-3 )/1 tbsp/gal water molasses, next watering; plain water, then repeat. All water is Ph7 well water with tons of minerals in it.

They are looking good bro! probably just some temper mental seeds, they'll turn around!

And about that TLO by The Rev, OG1969 pointed me to this, I read a summary and ended up ordering it right then and there for 14 bucks on amazon.
Looks like some pretty damn good reading!! Im a damn information junkie though
