Mcloadie's Second Grow Journal

Lookin' great McLoadie. +reps if it lets me.

Your shits looking tight bro... Keep it up. Im fight temps and humdity, I just updated my journal with some pics. More to come soon but we underestamated the new vaporizor and I am just too stoned to stay up any longer.. Plus now Im frustrated because I screwed up the wiring for the fans :(. Oh well see you sonn bortha.

The soda bottle clones, they always look raggedy as hell, that's why I want my aerocloner

This is the injured lady, I put a tent over the injury to limit light on it

Auto?....broken....she begged me!

The nursery, notice the yellowing leaf on that seedling, a little too much water maybe, hungry while it's trying to get roots through the peat pot. I'm coaxing the roots where I want them to be, I water around the perimeter of the plastic pots to lure them through...so to speak. In laboratory experiments it was proven that roots don't grow toward water, but where water is present....think about that for a minute!

I got a package in the mail from a good bro the other day, and lo and behold....beans!, three purple kush, 1 tahoe og! I have been wanting to grow this tahoe, I have heard some great things about it! So, soon I will be documenting this process, taking seeds, a seed, whatever, and creating a grow from a single seed.
The tahoe is a big girl and loves to eat.

As promised, this is how I germinate seeds. An ink free paper towel, two petri dishes with lids, and a pen to trace with.
014413.JPG
Fold the paper towel in half, trace around the bottom of the petri dish, ( bottom is smaller of the two ) leaving a little portion that will not be cut out that will act as our hinge at the fold of the towel.

The next two photos in conjunction explain how to make the initial cuts in the paper towel, we're going to leave a tab on one side of the paper towel so we can lift it easily.

017302.JPG
Cut the tab off on the side with the ink on it.

Finished pad installed in petri dish.

Clearly mark TOP and BOTTOM, I have screwed this up before, that's why I mark both, identification, and to avoid cross contamination if one variety of seeds molds.
022198.JPG
Add water, I like them pretty wet initially, to soften the seed coat.
023191.JPG
Place the seed between the towels.
024169.JPG
025184.JPG
Place the corresponding lid on the bottom.
026166.JPG
I place them in something that's going to keep them dark and then someplace that will stay 75-80 degrees F.

These need to be checked and rehydrated every morning. The tab wicks out moisture and they can dry out depending on the ambient Rh as to how quickly this happens. My seeds usually germinate in 24-72 hrs.. I check them twice a day for moisture.

As promised, this is how I germinate seeds.

Very detailed.

I think you're a like me, maybe just a little too OCD?

I know that's one of the main things MJ helps me with. Is it the same for you as well?

When dealing with things that CANNOT fail, and there's $ at stake, things must get done precisely. If something fails, I'm gonna make damn sure it's not because of my actions, I'm used to working with absolute precision, and my work kept people alive, in aircraft.....you can put the rest together....I'm not used to fucking shit up!..........LOL

Two seeds popped at 20 hrs., 1 tahoe, and 1 purple kush. This is how I plant germinated seeds without mixing them up. I get all my shit together, the 3" peat pots are being moistened from the bottom up in 80 degree water.
0021190.JPG
Clearly mark the pot you plan to plant in with a marker.
0031127.JPG
0041048.JPG
Take the corresponding petri dish out of its warm bed.
008751.JPG
I make the hole for the seed with a .223 round, I put it in to the casing, point first.
009670.JPG
Carefully place the seed in the hole with the tap root pointing down. Water it in to eliminate any airspace.

I put everything right back where it was, including the planted seeds in pots.

See my feet again budbud?....LOL:Love:

Looking really good Mc.
Like the step by step of your bean technique.
Some will find that really useful.
Clean, organized, and effective..

Makes sense. Given the industry you worked in, it just becomes habit. :Namaste:

I'm just one of those folks that took the old saying to heart, "if something's worth doing, it's worth doing right." I figure, I'm going to 'spend' some of my limited lifetime doing something, I should do my best at it. :)

That my freind is a most intelligent statement.

Looking A+ there McLoadie. I think those beans will end up being awesome plants soon enough, wouldn't mind a cut of that Tahoe:) lol, I want a good bro who will send me beans lol
+Reps for the germinating tutorial
