McBudz Perpetual Journal

Glad you're back in time to save any real issues. I gotta say - this is one more thing it's nice to get confirmation on. I always wonder whether my room seems more fragile than others. I hate to say it, but I'm glad to see your perfectly healthy plants suffer the same as mine - assuming there is no major calamity. And thanks for keeping the journal honest. That's what makes it so valuable a tool.

:nicethread::bravo::thankyou:

All the nemesis plants suffered badly. At least 2 are completely dead. As if I harvested and dried them. weird. 1 is half and half. The rest have moist buds still but leaves are hurting. I'll try to get pics up soon. entertaining some company today and tomorrow.

I ran the nutes a bit high on that side and i paid the price when the heat went up and the water went down and I wasn't here to turn on the AC or top off the res. My clones are doing just fine, all Mom's are doing good. I'm actually surprised to be honest shit went this bad in 3 days absence. Shouldn't have tweaked the nutes.

been there, done that, x 100. sorry bro, but you'll nurse them back as best is possible. the thing that sucks is its usually the biggest and thirstiest that suffer the most, and those are the best producers.

Brother, that is a hard blow. We have been working feverishly to make sure there are no interruptions to the "flow". I truly hope you can salvage the sickly, if anyone can, it would be you. Good luck my friend, glad to hear the clones/mothers are fine.

I think part of my mistake was switching to a new digital timer without testing for a few days. It was an intermatic digi that has 14 on/off settings with sunup and sundown etc etc. I think I had it set for 12 on off and for some reason was still doing sunup and sundown times. This and a freak hot day while I was away played a role in my GR going beyond a reasonable temp and cooking my plants. Even my mothers show heat stress but they will be fine. When I woke up this morning my lights were off way early so something is wacky with that timer or how its set. I have it set to a light in my living room now so I can watch the behavior. For now I have a mech timer in place running all the lights with the new UPM module. This is why I've alway stayed with the mech since the digi I have never seemed user friendly to do simple 12on 12off. I really hope my plants arent trying to revert to veg as well. I gave them a 24 hour dark period to switch them to night time on for temp reasons. Hopefully that helped them back to bloom if that is the case.

The nemesis plants took the blow at such a crucial time in the bloom process (3.5-2.5 weeks from harvest) I think I am really eph'd on the yield. QP at best is my guess at this point.

Anyways cutting new clones tomorrow and changing all the res's. The current clones that are vegging will be going to bloom in 2 weeks or so.

The BW/PE on the left side are only 2.5 weeks in to bloom so hopefully they can recover and produce.

:banging head on desk:

Ughhh. I like the digital timer we bought. Appliance heavy and easy to program. Do that "kiss" thang wherever possible. I have a mechanical timer that is such a pain in the arse to setup and get functioning correctly. Screwed around with it forever to get it to work proper. Then out of the blue, it would screw up. So we bought the digital, after lots of looking around. No problems since. I feel for ya brother. Hope it all comes back soon.

Hey McB. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. With your skills, I'm sure u can turn em around. Gotta quick ? For ya if u don't mind. I got 4fem. GWS mom's gettin ready to clone for my. E n G, do u think I should take a cutting from each now and sex just to make sure they're fem. ? Or should I just go straight to the buckets with em? I have the time, space, and equipment to go ahead and do it, but don't wanna waste the time if its not needed. Also, if I do sex them, should I go 12/12 right into the cloner? Thanks bro.

You if you have the time you can take some clones from each and flower right away to rule out herm etc. Them take the best and clone, veg and bloom.
This will take more time but better insure you have a larger crop. If you take the 4 mom's cut veg and bloom without testing you will yeild some bud earlier but may have to cull some plant if herm's come up.

Here are some pics of the good, bad and the ugly

Looks like 6 of the 12 nemesis are dead and crispy. No coming back for those.

BW Clones are just about ready to go to flower thinking of scrapping the whole nemesis grow and taking the loss. Or finish them out and get 2 more weeks veg time (thus hopefully more yield) on my BW clones... I'll think about it.

BW and PE on the left side of the tent seem to be ok. Hopefully the wacky timer issue did not send them back to veg. They have had a few long dark periods that hopefully have kept them in bloom. I really have no idea what type of light cycles this thing saw while I was away.

The PE and BW moms were completety wilted over when I got home but they have come back with very little damage. SOme leaves were cooked looking but they got cut off from the new cuttings anyways. No harm no foul there?

Strawberry Blue and Choco are chugging along just fine. I took a few cuttings from each to send through with the next BW batch to verify the genes.

Aww man, that sucks about those dead trees, i hope you can make some sort of useable product out of them. The rest of your garden is lookin mega good tho. I've got faith in your skills as a master grower and you'll bounce back.

^ Yeah I know that fvcker. He was at it this morning. Heard some weird high pitch noise this AM in the garden. Couldnt put my finger on until I stuck my ear up to the res port hole. Pulled the pump out and was seizing up. It was on fill cycle and the good side of my tent was dry..wtf? Plants were not wilted yet but hydroton was dry as far down as I could get my fingers. So I used my res change pump to fill the controller and plants got fed.

Took pump apart and looked ok. Put back together and still screeching.

Went to hydro shop grabbed another pump.

Came back and for giggles took pump apart again and cleaned all surfaces inside with vinegar and qtips this time. Put back together and all is humming quietly now.

SO I decided to take the other one apart and do the same. Will probably do once in a while now just in case. Now I have spare pump on the shelf.

CLose one

Back to the gloriosity again. Barely even a speed bump!

Nice catch on the pump. So you think the whining wasn't a bearing? I didn't know you can get rid of that sound by cleaning w/vinegar.

No bearing as far as I know as its magnetic. This was a clackity screeching noise. I thought a bearing in my air filter fan went.

I took the impeller and magnetic drive shaft thingy out and turned the pump on and it was completely silent. I knew it was on because if I move the impeller with magnet near it it wants to dance. Everything looked in good shape must have just been a very small buildup somewhere I couldn't obviously see.

I clean a lot around here with vinegar. Since I know it does well with hard water minerals I thought it may help with nute salt buildup if that was the issue. It def made a night and day difference and the pump moves water now. I use vinegar to clean hardwater off the faucets, in the coffee maker, shower, pots and pans, silverware etc etc.

I have every confidence that once again you will likely save me much $ in the future. Thanks!
