MaxYields' First Grow - Warlock - Alien Dawg - Berry Garcia - CFL Closet Grow

QUICK UPDATE

Hey there 420magazine, nothing to exciting to report although a few things have happened. Firstly the ladies got a watering today and a foliar feeding, they are drinking a lot of water already which as me very excited. I gave them each 1/2 gallon Denver Tap // 2 ml Cal-Mag // 1/4 ml Super Thrive in the pot, and at the same ratio they each got 1/2 quart through a Foliar Feeding.

There are several reasons behind the Super Thrive and Cal-Mag in the watering today. The Warlock and the Berry Garcia both got a defoliation today under the net (and only under the net). On the Warlock I took off most of the foliage underneath the Trellis, leaving behind a few healthy fan leaves towards the soil and most of the foliage about 1" under the Trellis.

The Berry Garcia got a much less harsh defoliation... I only took off dead and very unhealthy fan leaves, as well as the smallest of bud sites. I even left one of the lankiest dumb branches I have ever seen under the Trellis.. You will see in next photo update (forgot my camera today). So we will see how each lady is affected.... however the Warlock has twice as many tops as the Berry Garcia so it may not be the most accurate comparison.

The reason behind the Cal-Mag is actually pretty simple... I had forgotten a few times to add it in the Nutrient line-up for their Nutrient Feedings, so started adding it through Foliar Sprays and their Regular Tap Waterings. I am liking the way the Foliar Feedings are working, no residue and it is absorbed extremely quick.

Thats about it everyone!

Thanks for following along!!

I'm late to the party, but will be following. Great looking ladies! Can't wait to see your end results! :goodjob:

Thank you very much Bubba!! I am glad to have ya along for the rest of the ride, just gettin' really interesting. They should be chunkin' up soon!

:: QUICK UPDATE ::

So I just wanted to give a little text update on the ladies. So things have basically started to slow down, there is no more visible upwards growth on either the Alien Dawg or the Berry Garcia. The first of which to have stopped stretching around a week and a half ago, the latter stopping its stretch pretty soon afterwards. I was pretty convinced the Warlock was done stretching upwards as well.. but I guess not.

I made it to the grow room today to see how they have been coping with their recent defoliation. They both look extremely happy at the moment.. but the Warlock had grown a visible half-inch to inch on all of its tops since the defoliation... It was really a very pleasant surprise to see my tallest tops an inch above those of the Berry Garcia. This has been my favorite plant thus far, and she is seriously amazing... I think I really lucked out.

For a little while I was worried that the clone I received was mislabeled, so after a week of worrying that I got a Sativa (because it is still stretching...) I decided too do some research, and I am EXTREMELY happy with what I turned up. Check out the description from seedfinder.

Magus Genetics - Warlock
Genetics: Skunk No. 1 x Afghani
AKA: Afghani Skunk
Variety: Mostly Indica
Type: f1 Hybrid
Harvest Date: 8-9 weeks
Flowering Period: October / November
THC Content: 20+%
Characteristics: Easy to manicure

The Warlock is indica dominant but it also has some characteristics that are considered sativa by most people (elongation at flowering, active high, high calyx/leaf ratio). It is a branchy plant that will form only a few medium sized leaves and a massive amount of flowers so it is easy to manicure. The pistils are clear white when fresh, changing to tan/pink when mature. The smell is strong and sweet, some even a bit sour (like fresh fruit). The high is mainly cerebral.

All of this making me extremely happy. This lady has over 40 countable tops and it is going to start getting very crowded above the Trellis once the buds start to get fat!

Picture update coming this weekend.

The ladies got a Nutrient Feeding today... the regiments are as follows:

10ml FF Big Bloom
7.5ml FF Grow Big
7.5ml FF Tiger Bloom
.25tbsp FF Beastie Bloomz
5ml Molasses
2 drops Super Thrive

-- UPDATE :: FLOWER DAY 28 --

Hey 420magazine!

So it has been a little while since a picture update, and that makes this even more exciting because yesterday was a very busy day in the grow room! A lot of exciting growth and development between the three ladies in the Flower Tent. I also have an exciting new experiment of sorts going on as well that I will fill you all in on towards the end of this post!

GENERAL UPDATES ::

On Wednesday Warlock was fed 1gal Denver Tap / 10ml FF Big Bloom / 7.5ml FF Grow Big / 7.5ml FF Tiger Bloom / .25 tbsp FF Beastie Bloomz / 5ml Molasses while Berry Garcia and Alien Dawg each received just 1gal Denver Tap / 3ml Molasses... they have both proven to be pretty finicky strains and I thought they could both use a flush.

On Friday both Warlock and Berry Garcia received 1gal Denver Tap... All three of the ladies were foliar fed 1qt Denver Tap / 1.5ml Cal-Mag, I misted them once 30 minutes after the lights came on, then again at noon, then again at 9:00 and 10:00 before lights out.

On Saturday Alien Dawg was looking beautiful and extremely happy, she is starting to chunk up at her bud sites as well so I went ahead and fed her 1gal Denver Tap / 10ml FF Big Bloom / 7.5ml FF Grow Big / 7.5ml FF Tiger Bloom / .25tbsp FF Beastie Bloomz / 5ml Molasses. All three girls got foliar fed 1qt Denver Tap / 1.5ml Cal Mag... I misted them once 30 minutes after lights on then again an hour after lights on, and then once 2 hours before lights off.

THE EXPERIMENT ::

So everyone, as you probably all know by now I am pretty preferential of my Warlock in this Journal, she has more than exceeded my expectations, and I am extremely upset that I did not have the materials needed to clone her before she was flipped... so I decided to say screw it and try and Reveg some clones of her! I will do anything to keep this genetic, as I think I am really going to love it.

There has been an area of buds towards the front left of the screen that were far too bunched up and short for my liking... I had been debating wether to manicure them to prevent the potential bud rot, or to just let them be. I landed on the idea of taking the most under-developed branches as clones and trying to Reveg them so I can save this awesome genetic.

I cut 3 branches off, at a 45* angle with a x-acto knife disinfected beforehand with isopropyl alcohol. I scraped the bottom half inch, dipped it in Rootech, then put the branches in RockWool Cubes presoaked in 1gal Denver Tap / 7.5ml Mycho(something) / 1drop Super-Thrive. I cut the tips of leaves on 2 of the 3 clones I took, then placed them in a drip tray with my two seedlings. I misted them thoroughly with Denver Tap Water and then misted the hood as well. I poured some Carbonated Water in the cracks of the Drip Tray to keep it moist in there then covered it with a hood.

That's it for now everyone! I hope you all enjoy this update as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you all!
:Namaste::thanks:

They should be just fine even though you cut them in flower... it may take a bit longer for them to root but they will... :circle-of-love:

Awesome I hope so! I was talking to my friend over at the grow store and he said that it should work, so I am feeling pretty confident I will be able to save this genetic which makes me super happy:)

Thanks for stopping by Dennise!

Looking darn good man!!

Appreciate it pal, couldn't have been possible without this website and (of course) our meeting! Speaking of friendly Cannabis connoisseurs... Anyways, always happy to hear about positive experiences at Cannabis related events.... maybe I will see you at the Cannabis Cup come this 4/20? :cheesygrinsmiley::cheesygrinsmiley:

Hey brother still catching on this journal but wanted to sub. Looks like we're at about the same point in flowering. Last update looks great. Glad I made it just in time for the fireworks. Try to stay warm on this cold snowy morning.

- QUICK BUD UPDATE -

Hey there 420mag!

So the ladies are still truckin' on. The Warlock has finally started to form its buds. Alien Dawg is furthest along in bud production and Berry Garcia finds herself somewhere in between. All are really startin' to put out resin, so many of the leaves are frosted all the way to the tips. Today the Warlock and Berry Garcia both got pre fed 1/2gal Denver Tap and then fed 1gal Denver Tap / .25tbsp FF Beastie Bloomz / .25tbsp FF Cha Ching. While the Alien Dawg was only fed 1gal plain Denver Tap.

Aanyways, on to the pictures, it was really hard narrowing it down to one picture from each. I have one picture with the LED on as well, enjoy!

Here is the Warlock, her stretch ended about a week and a half after the other two ladies, and her buds have just started to form.

Here we have the lovely Berry Garcia, starting to chunk up. I left a lot of her growth underneath the Trellis alive to see how she responds, especially compared to the Warlock.

Next we have a picture of the chunkiest lady, and I'm tellin' ya that's a good thing, the Alien Dawg. I am very impressed with her buds, I believe they are going to look beautiful.

Lastly, a picture of the Warlock under the LED... stunning. Thank you so much Mars-Hydro, I couldn't be more impressed with my plants resin production.
