Mars Hydro SP 3000: Just Released! SP 250 & TSL 2000 Comparison Grow

Good Monday and hope you and your plants have a great week ;)
[/QUOT
So far so good and finally gwtting some roots down too. Slow start for this one which is typical when I needed a good one. Lol
Slowly winning now they are settled a little more. Not having to worry about the lights intensty and position has been positive and they are clearly not stretching to find the best bit as they all seem to be happy just soaking up the lights photons.

Update: I took these pics yesterday evening. I can happily say that they have all began putting roots out the bottom of their new homes and will soon be up potted into their final places. The soil girls are going into freshly recharged and amended 57L Living Organic Soil

The new coco cubes have shown better results than the rockwool ones by a clear mile at this point
I do like them for ease of use too.
I have now introduced a bigger fan to start them on their gym training for lst to thicken the stems a bit more. I plan to move the rockwool into nft as soon as i get a few more air pruning at the sides. Amnesia has filled her pot already and also needs to be repotted asap. She is hitting her 5th nodes now too and will ne getting a very precise Fimming. Intentions to try @InTheShed bending the 5th cola down instead of topping it too. My plant count is well below my usual so I will have a little more space in the trays to spread them out too. I want a potential full canopy to work this comparison effectively. The difference in medium should not affect the overall vanopy height but the difference in other factors like bud density etc.. should still be recordable. I will keep a more more updated diary once theybaee under their vegging cycle properly too but did take a few measurements as I am noticing a spurt in the more established plants. The rockwool girls are looking so much younger than the others so no worries about feeds yet.

All in all starting to look like a garden nearly. Lol
I do feel confident that the new light is doing a good job of keeping them happy so far and still only at 75% power with no stretching at all. If I were not using 2 different mediums and trays , I would be happy to leave them all under this one unit for a while without fear of less light reaching each plant. I will sepeeate them for this comparison test but in future grows I will be using the sp3000 for initial vegging period and training to save costs. No issues to report so far and an average temp of around 21-24°c but a little low rh at around 40%.
Keep safe and well growmies

I will wait patiently for them to grow up, :ganjamon:I hope SP3000 can help you get better harvest than ever
Thank you Sara , I am confident they will do the job very well now .

UPDATES: Today has been a doing day in the room with the soil ladies being put into their huge pots. The amnesia looks good for it as she has the size to not look lost but the other 2 do look so lonely sat there in those big beds. I would like to have done another up pot before the finals but the false start has pushed time a little now. I have fimmed the amnesia haze and will start pulling her down ect in a day or two. This will allow time for the others to start catching up a little too. She can take center stage under the tsl2000 with the other 2 filling the ends up hopefully. I need to set the NFT up and off tomorrow too as their roots are looking ready to start hitting the matting on the tray. They will get to share a light between 2 each and will give me plenty of sideways room for filling out. I do think i will need a slightly longer veg than hoped for to make sure I have a full camopy to work with but having so few to manage should be fun to lst along the way . I lowered the light and turned it up to 100% to keep them all in good lighting until the trays are ready to roll. I do have a very odd mutant in the Black ghost og that @Dutchman1990 would be proud of though . She is a proper minger just like the last one I grew out !!!!. Wtf is it with this strain of ugly bitches. Hopefully the bang from her proves an old theory correct like her sister did !. She is still wobbling my legs now too.!! Lol
I am glad i got all three of the sweet seeds strains to run in the end and another tester run of the fast buds testers should be good too. The ones run now are taller strains and longer flowering than the 3 previously run so will be a fun mystery to grow out i think.
I cannot think of a single gripe with the light so far and the girls are definitely not complaining. I took some measurements again to begin documenting the growth as we go . Once the nft is running I will begin a count of sorts but with no definitive goal on time to veg. I will be flipping at a point i feel will give a good post stretch canopy to work with.
Temps 23.5°c ,
Rh 40%.
No extraction
Single intake fan and 8" oscillating fan.

I thought a photo dump would give some perspective and a foundation for the off.
Be safe and sane :Namaste:

Another 2 days without disaster and all is well. Lol.
I am happy to put that joking aside. This has been a roller coaster of a start but seeing them all now settling into a veg pattern and how quickly the soil ladies have settled is hopeful. The Amnesia haze is looking nice and odd on her 5th fimmed node and will soon begin her "bend for 4 friends" training to allow nodes 3/4 to quad out during lst. FFT#9 and 10 are also finding their feet now. #10 is forcing a lead on the other one but her appearance has improved during the day so I think roots are happy now.
Black Ghost og has continued her quest for her own parking spot and priority seating and doesnt look like that will change anytime soon. The other 3 are happily waiting for their move to their new nft homes. I will be happier once all are in place and getting veg going full bore.

Evening Growmies. I have been starting to work on the Amnesia Haze and the FFT#10. Amnesia had a toe down of her tiny 4th node branches and gave the stem a very firm squishing to bring the 5th fimmed node down. It should develop a nice knuckle there now which will give me a little time to grow the 3rd and 4th out more.

I have also taken all below out too.
FFT#10 has had a fimming so far but I will strip her a little more in few days.

FFT9 looks healthy and happily rooting again. A little slower than the other 2 but doing ok.
Red hot cookies and her stablemate S.a.d are now starting to pale a little now so need some feed.

Mc at a lower strength will be used tomorrow to make sure they can be ready to hit the NFT running. The Black Ghost is still very freaky looking just as the last one was too. I hope she sorts it out before the veg burst hits or she will struggle to keep level in the canopy. Will be interesting to see if she can have any l.s.t done to her.
No issues with environmentals at all. The Rh could do with upping a little bit but this will happen as more leaf matter starts increasing. I am letting the Los pots dry out a little now to try to nail this watering cycle properly.

The light is doing a great job with these girls and I would be confident to continue under it for a lot longer if I was not doing a comparison with the other 2. I really like this one so far. Heat is not an issue at all so far and I still am not extacting .
Be safe folks.

Looks fabulous G!

Thank you TraLa . Slowly getting it together now. Sods law that it had to be a sponsored grow that I screwed up on.heehee
Confident it is on now though. Will be nice to not worry too much about cramping them in wirh a lower plant count but will also test the theory that the plant count is a mute point to using up space. Will be able to develop bushier/wider hopefully. NFT tanks being set up today so will be veg time proper for the other 4 too. Trying to find all the bits needed is another matter though. Lol

VEG DAY 1: YAY!!!.: And now we are off and running finally.
I have filled the tanks with 40L each of feed at the 1st strength and also added a couple of additions.
MegaCrop 20g
Calmag 20ml
Silicon 20ml
Silver bullet 18ml
40L dechlorinated water
The tanks run 24 hrs so will be providing a film of nutrient continuously over the roots as they for on the matting.
They had all been air pruning underneath for the past week and should not take long to settle and start to grow.
I have now out the sp250 on as well and have 2 pkants under each sp series light. They are virtually the same size and development stage so I hung the lights at the same height of approx 20". The 3000 has 25 watts more at the socket but a few different spectrum additions over the 250 too. They are both at 100% power in an identical environment receiving the same strength feed. They are all different strains but this should not really become evident until a little later. The three in soil are not being lit by the tsl2000 yet as i want the nft to catch them up a little before I start them really building. There is plenty of light available to them all from the overspill of the sp's in veg so it will hopefully be enough to make the comparison more beneficial as the flowering cycles start and i switch all three lights on. The subsequent flowering periods under each light should be easily comparable once we have seen how the other 2 do in veg growth against each other.
The difference in power is not obvious to the naked eye but i suspect the ones under the sp3000 are blowing raspberries at the sp250 girls over the extra lumens and spectrum additions.
I did manage to snap the 5th node off the Amnesia so there goes my olan of a 5 quadded idea. The FFt girls are looking happy now too with the #9 starting to nicely adapt to the stripping. I have left 6 branches to develop as I am greedy !!!. Lol
So lets have some pics to mark the occasion.

Lets hope some excitement for the next post. This bit is so dull. Lol
Peace and good health Growmies.

The TSL is not on yet so have put it at its max height so I don't keep banging my big head. Lol
Once the 4 in the nft have grown out a little more I will be switching it on. They had an head start over the nft plants so are already on their 5th nodes. The nft girls are so tiny compared. Lol

UPDATE DAY 4: After an initial night's settling in they were still looking pale and on hold but after a little tweaking to the nft trays flow , the cubes are getting a good flow past them now. The back cubes were not getting enough fluid at all. Now a couple of days has passed and they are feeding , they look better and are starting to colour up. They still look lost in the tanks with only 2 in each
20200725_092915.jpg

On the whole they are doing as expected but the initial germing and root building in the cubes does not seem to give them much of a start
Thankfully the Black Ghost og is starting to look fairly normal now. Once she is big enough to top , I will be able to remove her twisted and crumpled leaves.

The Los girls are really starting to get busy now and even the small FFT#9 will be trainable in a day or 2. They seem happy to share the overfill from the 2 sp lights and have enough good light to keep moving.

20200725_092746.jpg
20200725_092447.jpg

It will be interesting to see how all three respond to the flip to flower as I will also put the Tsl2000 on for this comparison. There are 3 fast flowering strains which i do expect to show pistols bert early on but the actual bud formations tend to stay on par with normal 8-9 week flowering periods irrespective of their indica/sativa leanings. This should level the playing field a little. I would like to have done 9 of the same strain from a cloned mother for a true control but timing is not with me at all on this one so we will see how it pans out with 7 different strains!!. Lol
Temps are a little on the warm side at 27-29°C but avoiding the daytime uk heat with using nighttime for lights on has helped keep it there . I always have the option of moving the sp3000 power pack which may happen if the temps go up much more.
Rh is an expected 40% but I spray the rooms walls at present to offer a little more moisture. This should change as the leaf structures start arriving on masse.
I will be watering the LOS ladies later with 4 L each of dechlorinated water and expecf the nft will be fine for the next 2 weeks without needing anything else doing.
I expect the next few weeks to show any major advantages of the extra 25w and more Red spectrum to the sp3000 too. The spec mentions better all round growth too.
All in all , I am happy with progress now.
Be safe Growmies.

Hey GG how is it buddy? Just getting caught up on some journals got way behind. Shame the heat got to your first batch of seedlings but looks like you’re flying now. I’m rooting for the Black Ghost OG, gotta love a mutant. Nice strains and very nice light set up. Interested to see how much you pull from 850 watts. Smash that record again!
:high-five:

Hey buddy. Cheers mate , did knock me back a little but partially my errors too so can't be too bent about it now. Did seem that Dr Death had his sights set but managed to get at least 1 each of the sweet seeds strains too so at least I will get to try them. Odd ladies those black ghost. Last one grew all freaky too. The newer growth is looking fairly normal now thankfully.
Its my lowest plant count too so will be a change to be seeing gaps to head into rather than fighting for positions. Room looks so sparse. Lol
Been given my orders on the ice hash too now. New fridge in situ ,old fridge is messing Mrs GG's "tidy house" agenda so has to go !!!. No choice now , got to use the stock up or lose it. Watch this space. Good to see you mate.
