Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

So far with the FM Radio plugged into a different outlet with a emi/rf/noise surge protector it is working great. Yeah music in Grow Room again. Lol

Considering what it is being used for a main control panel connected by wire to the lights that is in the grow room with all the lights connected together by a control wire makes the most sense, nothing can interfere and as one light does they all do. For large grows several hundred lights could be connected together and the control panel could be programmed to check both programming of lights and light function at startup.
For small grows the panels should have controls built in for basic functions and the remote or a control panel as a option for use of full function. This is just my opinion but there is a reason you do not see remotes in but a few of the hundreds of light manufactures and most of those are adaptations of fish tank light controls

Hello Sara! :circle-of-love:

I tell you what is wonderful, in my opinion, to see so many new growers. Snagging up Mars-Hydro LEDs. I am nearly two years with my Mars-Hydro lights. I have never a problem with my lights. I have three different lights including a Mars-Hydro 48x3 reflector model. I use that model for one week after putting seed into a Root Riot plug for seedling growth. Then that light goes over a small Kratky box growing 3 Chard and 3 Pak Choi plants. Winter greens in a month of growing. Google Kratky for more info on his technique. Normally his technique is used outdoors, in warm seasons. He is a college professor in Hawaii. He would not patent his method.

I get about a gram per watt with my Mars II 900 and my Mars II 700. I use the Hempy technique with 100% perlite in a 3 gallon bucket. No sign of any kind bugs ever. My light schedule is 20/4 and with the Autos it works wonders. I just use GH's FloraNova Drain to Waste feeding schedule and it works great. Don't forget to add the CaliMagic, especially under LEDs. And definitely with tomatoes to prevent Blossom End Rot.

I only grow Autos. Most recent is a World of Seeds - Wild Thailand Ryder. It is reputed to have one of the highest % of THC in the world. It is a Thai Landrace Sativa crossed with a Ruderalis. Unfortunately it is too powerful for me. Sativa overdose I have been told. Have to add an Indica to the oil. If you want to try an Auto, I suggest this one. 70 days from seed to harvest. Twelve ounces from one plant is a nice amount of medicine. Naturally, your results may vary. Especially if you grow in dirt.

Hydro is the way to grow anything, in my opinion. From lettuce to tomatoes to cannabis, indoors or out. My tomatoes grow in a recycling Hempy system outdoors and in a tent indoors during winter, I use "indeterminate" varieties of tomatoes and just move them outside when the weather warms. Basil and other herbs go wild in Hempy. Just make sure to use perlite as your growing media. I buy 5 gallon paint strainers from hom-edepot and put one bag in the 3 gallon bucket with a 5/8" hole drilled in the side centered 2-3/4" up from the bucket bottom for a reservoir, and then I fill it with perlite, then put the Root Riot plug with the seedling into the perlite. Make sure to pour the water/nutes on the plug to make sure the roots grow down to the reservoir quickly. The net bag makes clean-up easy too. I even re-use the perlite and net bag after drying, cleaning and removing the hair like roots. You newbies might want to try the easiest and most productive growing method out there. Hempy.

Good Luck to all! :goodluck:

Thanks for a great post Jim, I will take note and try this method. This is what I like about this site, everyone pitches in and helps. CatfishKnight could have gone ballistic ranting and raving but instead many banded together and resolved the problems so many good people here. Thank You All

little tiny cute :hugs:

here is my pink grapefruit auto under the 600 watt old model light

:circle-of-love:Haha, that's why Led is more energy-efficient than HPS.:Namaste:
So I got curious and found the box from the last hps bulb we bought and it has the spectrum output on the box , well I took a pic for you to look at , no wonder LEDs and MarsHydro kick ass so well over hps. It's missing all the important spectrums for growth and flowering, I can say with confidence that we will never go hps again.

:circle-of-love: the frequency range of remote controller is 433MHZ. They will be interfered if the frequency is close.
Ok answer to why my Cree128 kept turning off. Not my butt remoting, not temp, nor TV remote. Sorta the user. My stereo on the FM station was the problem. Unplugged my Stereo and problem went away. The Remotes must be Radio Frequency Controlled and matching my FM radio would shut off...

:thanks: thanks for this information, flexy.:Namaste:

Those are my lights in the kitchen. On the left is an Osram LED spot, it has/uses 4.5W. The right is a normal Halogen Spot, it has/uses 45W.

The LED is actually BRIGHTER than the Halogen. Just wanting to make a point that "real watts" (the power they use) doesn't really mean anything. The more LED tech advances, the more can we also expect they get more efficient. I just don't understand why some folks are still looking at wall wattage.
That being said, him with his 4 (FOUR) 600W lights, let's just say..it will be very, very bright :) If you were to ask me, what I told him already he'd likely be more than fine with two of those lights for his area.

Wife and I are almost done. Whew.. Brought in the Scorpion Pepper Plant for a trail run for a couple weeks before growing the good stuff.

:hugs: good advice, super. The engineer is now working on a solution.:high-five:
Another reason for dip switches. Or if you want to be a little more modern, you can use a 2.4gh transmitter and receiver with frequency skipping like I use for my RC helis and planes. :peace:

:thanks: yes, Robert. I have let them know about this. They are trying to test and minimize the interference.:Namaste:
That is very good to know and hopefully Sara will see it and bring it to their engineers attention. I am sure many, like myself, enjoy listening to the radio while they work.

:circle-of-love: hi flexy, it's not IR remotes. IR is 38kHZ. Our remote controller is international standard with 433MHZ and adopts 2.4G high-frequency wireless technology. I think we should find out the frequency of the radio in the states.:high-five:
I still think it's IR remotes, radio would be...unusual.

Maybe your problem with switching is related to bad shielding. I'd give plugging radio into different outlet a shot. Or test whether the same thing happens with the radio running on battery (if that's possible). Or putting the radio/speakers somewhere else and see whether it solves things.

My weekly update of the ThunderHaze auto's under mars 144x5, love my mars LEDs :circle-of-love:

and of course the Dark Dragon seedlings under the new Mars Pro Epistar 160 LED, so far the plants are looking like they love the light :circle-of-love:

:)haha, good care. I also want it to come true as soon as possible...
I have the same remote and it's not IR , can work through walls and the next room , got to be MHz or something , we all tried to tell them that this remote was a bad idea . I've been contemplating buying 1 more pro 320 and the Cree 256 , run all 3 in the same room and do that sunrise I programmed in , but would like it come on with one light first (Cree) in the middle and then the 2 on the sides an hr later , when someone figures out how to program 2 in the same room different, I really want too know :)

By the way , my remote lives in a velvet box in case it may brake and leave my light worthless, lol.
