Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

well I tried to make an order but at checkout when it redirects to paypal I get an error message before I even get to log in. something about merchant sent invalid shipping address.. I emailed Sara , no response yet. Hope I haven't missed out before there holiday!!

Looking more and more like I might mix and match the 2 to see what yields the best results - Possibly even mixing the 2 in same room...... Decisions decisions :)

Sounds like a good plan, find out for yourself.

Is this COB issue across the board as of today? Or just a setback for TopLED?
I shall keep quiet about this cause Sara's thread. Google is your friend.

Lastly, I was looking for lamps w/ some Cree LED's like a friend has and seems well satisfied with. But I just can't get the research to support it's performance or cost. His lights were 2.5 the costs! - I would PM you but lack that function still :)

Yea I still think the 100% USA made light maybe slightly higher quality, but 2.5 times the quality? No. I really would like to buy USA made, but it just SO much more $$$. There is a guy on here that has both the Cree LED panels from another manufacturer and the Mars 2 1200 running side by side, from my memory no real big difference in plants under each, DrDankenstein I think.

Roger that CrawDaddy -

#1 - Sometimes a guy just gets tired of being the pioneer - Know what I mean? :)

#2 - Crystal Clear - I felt that nag nudge me when I wrote it...... Unfortunately COB tech seems too new have many testers be able to validate it - Sure the manufactures say all good..... but in real life? Credit to TopLED on their integrity here though!

#3 - Understood on the Cree - Looks like for "our" application of lighting it does not seem to be a difference.... Accept in price. Cree IS much more expensive to the OEM.

Side note: Saw you and another trade post about it being "Fishy" around here..... I left that area 4 years ago - Current X-Pat in Central America :)

I do not think reflector really needed with LED diodes as light is already focused from the diode. Unlike an hps that emits in all direcTion, led light is focused in one direction. With single diode chips lens are much better IMO. COB is different story though, need reflectors cause chips do not have lenses.

Cool man, I love it here except for not being able to grow sativas outdoors. However you could grow some nice equatorial sativas there, any access to outdoor growing spot? And what is penalty if get caught?

i have just seen a 5w led 500w - 300w draw.. with the same reflector as topled have...for £200.. tempted as it has the reflector.

Would you mind to copy a link to what you are looking at? I would like to see it as I find it very hard to believe you would get near the quality as TopLed for that price on a 5w and I agree with Crawdaddy about not needing a reflector with the 5 watt. I most certainly could be wrong but I would really like to see the specs on the lights you are talking about if you don't mind. :thanks:

Make sure you get pms on links, unless it's a sponsor we shouldn't link it. They pay to be our sponsors so we're suppose to do what we can to not advert other companies. Thanks everyone!

I looked it up and can tell you just from reading about it and looking at it there is no bloom or veg switch and it cost more and that is without checking any further. Not running the bloom when all you need is the veg is going to cost more in electricity and with TopLed you can see for yourself what they will do by going thru some of the journals on 420. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love my TopLeds... they are quality built, priced right and the customer service I have received thru Sara has been excellent. I really just can't say enough about the all around excellent experience I have had with TopLed and I'm not in any way pushed to say these things and have no connection to TopLed or 420 magazine other than I love them both. Hope this helps some and from experience I can tell you not to just jump at the quickest fix as all it will do is cost you money in the end. I had no idea that LED panels and grow lights even existed when I fisrt started my grow. I just happen to be in Blowes and saw some LED light bulbs that were the right Kelvin I was looking for and thought I would give it a try. Those were about $40 a piece so by the time I had gone back several times buying more each time to cover another spot I thought needed covering I could have bought several panels from Sara. Even though they did work and in my opinion they worked well what a pain to have to move all those lights every couple of days but then I found 420 and TopLed and man has my world gotten easier and if I had only found them a month earlier I would have saved myself a bunch of money and grief..... :goodluck:

Without having to back read, because of their holiday ! Are no orders being taken for around a month ? I wouldn't know where else to get the 48x3. Seems I waited to long before pulling the trigger on a led light !

I tried but before I get into PayPal it pops up a message and says Something along the lines of "merchant provided invalid shipping address , contact merchant". I made sure my info on top led matched my PayPal exactly but still receive that msg. I emailed Sara yesterday afternoon but haven't gotten a response.

Give it time she will respond.
