:thankyou: Sarah and MH :high-five:

:thumb: the visible and invisible spectrum is to human eyes. Human can't see infrared and ultraviolet light. To plants, they will "see" the light diffrent from human eyes. They mainly "see" red and blue. Compared to HPS, LED grow light will be more effecient by specifying the spectrum for plants.:Namaste: As for the invisible light, we have IR in our light but don't have UV leds. Only UVB is useful for the plants growth. However, no leds company offer UVB leds. Hopefully, in the future, it will come true. :ganjamon:
Just a thought:

Outdoor grows beat indoor grow hands down, partially, because the plants get the visible and invisible spectrum of the sun.

All of the talk comparing LED to MH/HPS is like comparing an apple to an orange.

At the moment LED arrays primarily put out the invisible spectrum while MH/HPS primarily put out the visible spectrum.

I know plasma induction lighting is capable of producing the invisible and visible light spectrum.

I realize production of a LED array that puts out the invisible and visible light spectrum of the sun maybe a year or so into the future. However what would the cost of such an array be? Heck...what about a separate LED array that produces the visible light spectrum while having another array that produces the invisible spectrum?

:cheesygrinsmiley: old friend, why are you shy... if you don't see it, I will not notice it too.:yahoo: two years!
I cant believe I'm getting close to my 2 year mark also. I never even thought about it, and I just saw my join date. I still feel like such a newbie though

:circle-of-love: yes, nobody, it's possible. It will take time to accept the new product. And we will also not stop developing. Your feedback is the guideline for our future development.:Namaste:
And . . I was going to ask Sara, are there going to be any plans to make an additional light like the new ones, WITHOUT all the bells and whistles and remotes and timers. Just a plain light like the Mars II but with the new LEDs in it? Or like the Sun Series?

Maybe call it the "Poor Mans New Light"

I would actually buy one of the new ones, if it was more like the Sun Series that didnt have all the new stuff stacked on it. I was just waiting until they went into regular production and there were more models of the Sun Series. I really liked that light :rip:

:yahoo: morning Gnarl :yahoo: the light will not get burnt up with only bloom on. Don't worry about it.:hugs: In fact, Reflector is different from marsII. :geek:As you can notice, the gap between each led on Reflector is wider. Therefore, when only bloom is on, the panel has enough space to dissipate the heat well, no need for fan. The engineer has tested it. :;): Our new MarsII with switches will have fan working when only bloom is on, because of narrower gap between leds. This is how and why set up the switches like that. :cheesygrinsmiley: As for the widely acknowledged agreement for both switches on during bloom, it has reached a long time ago. :ganjamon: Temp is also an important factor during control. If the built-in fan will help to keep it down, it's better to run the light with both switches on, because the fan will work with veg on. ;);) Plus, full spectrum during flower is also useful. :hugs: but no need to worry about it. It will not cause the light to burn with only bloom on. :high-five: It's really good advice to tell the new customers about the feature in case they don't know it. :thumb:
Gnarl, which city you will go?:cheesygrinsmiley:

Thank you Sarah for your detailed explanation, now I know your engineers' thinking and the functionality, but sorry, still no room for bloom only in my world. :) We all have our preferences, personally I prefer sunshine, but the state attorney doesn't agree with me. I'm happy with what I have and thank you for that.

Gnarl, seriously :dreamy: when you come to China, come to visit us, touch the light with your hands and feel the remote control in your hand. Maybe it will come across your mind to have one. :cheesygrinsmiley::cheesygrinsmiley:

Coming to China would be a side trip as I plan to spend my winter in the Philippines, so I am open to suggestion "which city".

Mostly I just want to experience the culture, sample the local cuisine and have FUN.

But if you are inviting me, I'd like to see all of the lights including the pro series. Although I have no desire to ever own a hydro store, I do have other ideas where having a source of lights might be lucrative.

I actually like the look of the new lights, the new case its in and the way it probably performs, but I dont like all that electronic mess thats in there  If there were versions of the new lights that were built without all that, and maybe just an on and off switch, and regular unswitched daisy chain, that would be really good. Just real plain and simple like the Mars II is built.

I bet if you built them and placed them side by side on your website you would sell more of the plain ones :byebye:

Haha, plugged,:allgood: I want all the feature Apple has, but I will never buy it. In China, you will find many brands has the same feautures and cost much less. :rasta:

Several years ago I bought I Phone clones from Hong Kong and sold them on Ebay. I thought they were great for the price until I used a real I phone for a while and realized the clones were pitiful toys next to the real thing. If you have never experienced a real one it's easy to be content with a fake. Having said that I'd never pay that much for an Apple either.

I guess it is time to look into getting a UVB bulb until the light emitting diodes can put out UVB radiation.

:ganjamon: Philippines is close to China, it will take one and half hour to fly to Hong Kong. Then you can come to Shen Zhen, where our factory lies, it's quite close.:):):)

yes, you are right, it's a good suggestion, nobody, we will take it intor consideration:thumb: Mars Pro just comes out. It will take some to be accepted. Right now, MarsII and Reflector do better than Mars Pro, but the first batch of orders for Mars Pro has shipped out. We are waiting for the feedback. :Namaste:

Haha, yes, I couldn't give a remark for the thing I don't use. :Namaste:

My understanding is . The popular method is square foot ( length x width = sqft ) input watts divided by sqft = watts per sqft
Example 2ft x 4ft = 8sqft The 60x5 light draws130w divided by 8sqft =16.25 watts per sqft (Hight is not part of the calculation)

Could some clever clogs please tell me the formula for working out my " watts per foot"...

Is it width x depth or do we have to do height aswell, then devide between output total....

Just trying to work out my new grows LED panel size...

Thankyou

:Namaste:

Im still here sara... I must say, it has been awhile since i first found this thread... Watching the exploits of dennise and others, with the new fangled LED panels.... Proving the technology works, in its infancy.... So glad your products proved the doubters wrong...

:volcano-smiley::circle-of-love:

Thank you so much for your kind words...:circle-of-love:

I have made the flight from Manila to Hong Kong several times and am familiar with Hong Kong although this time I'll be flying in from Cebu on Cebu Pacific. Beyond Hong Kong any excursion into mainland China will all be uncharted territory for me. :)

I may need guides who can cook. :)

I bought 2 Mars ll 1600's, 3 months in use and I have 2 rows of lights not working on one of the units......now what???? Just as I was going to put in an order for 4 more 1600's and 4 144x5's. Not too sure if I have the confidence in this company, see what happens now with warranty. Not looking forward to this.

Just a few pics of the perpetual garden with my Mars lights and tents. Here is the veg tent under 2 400's. There are 9 plants in here at different stages.

And the flower tent. 5 plants here. They range anywhere from a week or so till harvest to just moved in yesterday. Each of the plants in here are at a different point also. Should make for a harvest every 1-3 weeks I am hoping. :) :peace:

Sounds like a bad driver. Take a picture of the light off and the light on and email it to Sara. She will arrange to have a new driver sent to you. They are very easy to replace. You can run the light as is till you get the new driver. Then it will take you 10 minutes to fix. :peace:
