Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Hi Sara, New question for you and anyone that has first hand knowledge. I am very interested in buying a mars led. I have a 40"x40"(3.3'x3.3') tent and can't decide what unit/s to get. I was thinking 4 of the mars400 and buy a bigger tent (4.6'x4.6') tent. Or keep the tent as is and buy 3 reflector series 96x3w for the space. Also how much heat do these different units produce. I'm sure I will have no problems removing the heat, would just like to have an idea of what to do/look forward to before I jump in. A big thanks to whom can help me decide, Thank you. Peace!!

I have 2 of the same size tents. My flower tent runs a Mars II 900 and the veg tent has 2 400s. Feel free to look at my journals in my sig. :peace:

Sounds like a bad driver. Take a picture of the light off and the light on and email it to Sara. She will arrange to have a new driver sent to you. They are very easy to replace. You can run the light as is till you get the new driver. Then it will take you 10 minutes to fix. :peace:

Super is correct, very simple job, it could also be one or two of the LEDs in that sector, more than likely the warm whites, I have just serviced my 700w M2 for that very reason, also a relatively simple job.
But definitely do as suggested with the photos, the warranty process is quite smooth if you provide everything the MH team needs, I dealt with Sean, he was very thorough.

yes, you are right, it's a good suggestion, nobody, we will take it intor consideration:thumb: Mars Pro just comes out. It will take some to be accepted. Right now, MarsII and Reflector do better than Mars Pro, but the first batch of orders for Mars Pro has shipped out. We are waiting for the feedback. :Namaste:

I know Sara, its early so maybe they will decide to make one like that later on. I'm just wishing, and hoping, and dreaming is all :dreamy::xmas::laugh:

:circle-of-love: hello Budworshipper, you must refer to "watts per square foot". If it's a closet, you can calculate it as width x depth and divide the total true watts by the square foot. Hope it works. :Namaste:
Could some clever clogs please tell me the formula for working out my " watts per foot"...

Is it width x depth or do we have to do height aswell, then devide between output total....

Just trying to work out my new grows LED panel size...

Thankyou

:Namaste:

:thanks:Thanks for the help, plugged, that's correct!:thumb:
My understanding is . The popular method is square foot ( length x width = sqft ) input watts divided by sqft = watts per sqft
Example 2ft x 4ft = 8sqft The 60x5 light draws130w divided by 8sqft =16.25 watts per sqft (Hight is not part of the calculation)

:welcome: hi Explorer, I am sorry to hear about this. Could you post the pic or send me an email in the signiture? I will help you.:high-five: 2 rows of lights not working may well be due to the driver. We can send you the parts. Plus, now have repair service centers abroad. It's very convenient.:cheesygrinsmiley:We can work this out.:hugs:
I bought 2 Mars ll 1600's, 3 months in use and I have 2 rows of lights not working on one of the units......now what???? Just as I was going to put in an order for 4 more 1600's and 4 144x5's. Not too sure if I have the confidence in this company, see what happens now with warranty. Not looking forward to this.

Haha, then you will have a lot fun in the mainland.:slide: No worries for the cook. No need to worry about food in China.:cheesygrinsmiley:
I have made the flight from Manila to Hong Kong several times and am familiar with Hong Kong although this time I'll be flying in from Cebu on Cebu Pacific. Beyond Hong Kong any excursion into mainland China will all be uncharted territory for me. :)

I may need guides who can cook. :)

Good grief, I hope Smoke Sara does you good on this. I have been told to stick with Mars Hydros and so I did buy 1 400W and then ordered two more 400W to have three for three plants. If these lights will have problems, that is not going to be good. Even if they fix them for you, what about the time wasted once your plants are work in process.

:party:I love them all, give them all my love.:Love::Love::Love::party:
Just a few pics of the perpetual garden with my Mars lights and tents. Here is the veg tent under 2 400's. There are 9 plants in here at different stages.

And the flower tent. 5 plants here. They range anywhere from a week or so till harvest to just moved in yesterday. Each of the plants in here are at a different point also. Should make for a harvest every 1-3 weeks I am hoping. :) :peace:

:cheertwo: thank you, super~~:cheertwo: Yes, they are easy. We also have repair instruction video on Youtube.:circle-of-love:

yes, exlorer, if you have time, you can swap the drivers inside and check whether the light will be on again. If so, it must be the problem of driver. :Namaste:
Thanks for the quick reply. Ya the light still works besides the 2 rows. Will have to contact Sara and get this fixed up.

yes, we have drivers back-up in our warehouses, just in case. :Namaste: The plug is male-female plug, very convenient to use. :thumb:
Like I said. Very easy to fix. I think they are trying keep drivers in the warehouses for fast shipping. They just unplug then plug the new one in. :peace:

Welcome Shaggn:cheertwo: Both options are good. The BTU of 4pcs MarsII400w is 2552 and that of 3pcs Reflector96x5w is 2118. I think the heat is not a problem to you :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hello paganini, how are you? :cheesygrinsmiley: we can't promise all the lights will be perfect, which is impossible, not only for me but also for any other products.:geek: If we had made that kind of promise before, we actually don't need to offer warranty, since the light will be perfect enough after operating 18 hours or above every day :byebye: The reason why we have warranty is that we have taken the possible problem into consideration. If that happens, during warranty, we will try out best to reduce the lost for our customers and make up for it as much as possible. :skeptical: Thus, we set up repair service centers abroad and stock the back-up parts at our warehouse. Considering we are in China, it's actually not easy, but we are trying to do it. As for the time wasted, I am sorry, it's inevitable. I can't promise you no time waste, but I can promise we will try best to minimize the loss incurred. Of course, any other advices for this are much appreciated :peace:
