It looks like I'll be setting up a 8'x4' flowering tent soon. I've been using one of the old 128x3 lights (no longer available but if there are some laying around in the warehouse let me know.) I've been pleased with it.

I'm thinking that six of the 100x3's would be a great fit in the 8'x4' tent and would offer amazing bang for the buck. I'll shoot you an email when I'm ready to order.

I must have asked this question before, but if I want to have a spot about 5x5, how much LED would I need to fully cover that area for veg and flower? How many units or if one unit how many LEDs etc. I think I have to break down, but I don't want to go with top of the line yet until I know what is coming down the pike.

I just need to know realistically exactly what I'd need.
 
If it was me I'd go with three of the 144x3s for ~ $800, GF. Part of that suggestion is based on the assumption that you will be vegging and flowering in the same space. If you have a separate space for vegging then that would change things. Three 144x3s would give you 1296 Topled watt equivalents - so about the same performance as a 1000w HPS without the heat issues and with much more even coverage over the canopy. They would beat a 1000w HPS due to the elimination of dark corners, I reckon.

I'm going to copy you on a PM that I sent to another member that will clarify my reasoning.

My question exactly! Thank you Gardenfaerie! It is time I get serious about tucking away money so I can begin to grow for myself and I think that I will go with a 5x5. Knowing precisely what I will need for lighting will be very helpful. I think I will go with the reflector series... maybe....

how bad was the bow on your cross-bars in your tent? not sure if its been asked, about to go watch your videos to see if you mention it, sorry if you did.

should be around 5 days for my led! already starting to pull weak plants, pick mothers and seperate them, and figure out what one i want to grow under the led.. really awnting my hubbed plants but my best one is still not where i want her to be when i flip to flower. so may just throw a nycd and grape ape under the led to flower those out while i wait for my hubbed plants.

another question, about how long does the leds last compared to hps? i have been told they almost keep their full lumens throught the leds life? is this true?

EDIT : i dont recall that plant being that full when u got your mars 1600, going to watch videos now maybe i am wrong. very nice foliage you have there! as always.
 
I know on topled it says the mars 2 400w panel covers 3x3.what is it really cause I dont see 170w cover 3x3 in flower.wil it least cover 2 plants? Mine are kinda low from topping and lsting

Hi all, I have just got myself a 0.6x0.6x1.4m tent and I am wondering a couple of things. First one is should I run one 192x3 panel or 2 144x3 panels? I am planning on veg and flower in this space. and second thing is will this be sufficient lighting for veg and flower? I am planning probably 2 plants and scrog.

running 2 lights is going to better... they will cross over in the middle and give you the effect of a 3rd light..
