Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Hi all,

Question for 420dave420 > > Mars II 400w heater there many? if you were to compare the heat emitted by a 400w HPS and Mars II 400w, what would you say to me? thanks

(If anyone has any information on the heat emitted by March II 700, I am interested because my big worry is heat, I watch a lot this topic because I am very interested by the leds TOPLED, I had doubts about their effectiveness, but from what I've seen, they are effective, I believe ... it remains for me whether or not heat a lot and I have not found much information about it ...
I use a 400w hps in a box DS80, I would replace it with a 700w led March II, do you think that with the LED will heat less?

Hello after researching your products,i am going to buy a TopLed light and was wondering which one would be perfect for a 4x4 grow tent for flowering and which one for veg for another tent the same size? price does not matter is it better to go with the 1600 for flower and a smaller one for veg?

the LED is going to put out ALOT less heat then the HPS.
 
Just got my 1600 delivered today, apparently the fedex delivery guy decided that a neighbor could sign for it so hopefully it works fine.. fedex look like they put some work on that box, hopefully packaging saved it. Will know in 4 hrs, and COUNTING!

Thanks that's what i was thinking about but was not sure which ones had the switch on them for veg/flower but as a mars 2 grower do you have to use any supplemental lighting near the stems of the plants? i saw some people saying that with the LED's the popcorn buds/lower buds would come out less potent due to lack of light penetration? would it be better to put some type of light down low near the lower parts of the plants like a big cfl or something?

Thats what im saying! we need leds on our floor looking up into the canopy :P

if you ask for it, they will build it :)

The 1200w would be perfect for a 4x4. That being said a 1600w would allow you to switch between full power and veg mode, that would be a nice energy saver if you were to use it throughout your grow as a stand alone. And more light in flower has never been a bad thing!

worst part about this is you got it to me so fast i have to wait to get it set up :) that may kill me. specially with the volunteer that is just as anxious as i to see how it works telling me he will come and help me set it up around my already 7' tall ladys... just not going to happen :P to heavy to lift that high and risk dropping it on my ladys.. double whamie, no thanks :) patients will be needed here

You are probably right, the veg only light has more white and blue, they use more power to operate than the red which the standard spectrum has more of. So you might see more heat.
