Im tossing up between the marsII 400w or the reflector 96x3.. Gow space is only 120cm in height will the 5w LED's be to strong for this space? Other option is getting 2 reflector 48x3.. What would people suggest im running 200w CFL atm with 2 Northern light automatics from Sensi Seeds
 
yes, come from UK, but we only have 140x5w and 48x3w stock in UK now. others are out of stock.

Sorry is the shipping still $60 in that case?
How many 48x3 units do you have left roughly in the Uk would it be better to get the 700w or 2 48x3?

I purchased my Mars II 1200 3 days ago and it will be on my door step today. Wow, now that is service.

Can't wait to get it home and open that box so I can see my shiny new light. Just in time for my next grow.

Hi Canna.. I have both the 3w reflectors and the Mars II. I personnaly like the 3w much better and if you get 2 of the 48x3w or maybe 1 of the 48x3 and 1 of the 96x3w I think you will get much better coveage. If you would like to see what the 2 together can do you are more than welcome to check out my journal in my signature. I have the 5w Mars II in a 24"x24"x54" Top Led tent and I have a 48x3w and 96x3w reflector in my closet grow. I much prefer the 3w. That is just my opinion but I like having the switches and I have no heat issues at all with the 3w units. Hope this helps ya out a bit..............:circle-of-love:

Thank you that is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Ironically I found you're journal earlier but could not find the LED section... did you start with cfl and half way through move to the LED??

I think i will get 2 48x3 as these are what is in stock in the UK right now and 5% off!!

If i decide to move out of my closet grow would these two lights be good in a standard grow tent??
I also have 10 cfl's set up in self made box so I can alway use them aswell, just like the idea of not having 13 cables running all through my wardrobe running 24HR a day... My father in-law is high up in the fire brigade and I have fire safty ingraved on my forehead =)

@ Dennise!! Just spent a good hour scanning through you're journal...Amazing to see how far you developed in that one grow!:bravo:! you had so many helpful people it was a pleasure to read!! I am basically going to copy what you did, but I am growing auto's so they will not get anywhere near the size of those bad boys!

To sum up i will order (2) 48x3 reflector LEDs and exchange those for 167 watts of CFL.
I harvested 50 grams from my last grow under those cfl's. With 3 weeks veg, 9 weeks flower.. not alot...but good enough for my first try, also was using bagseed but I think it came from a good gene pool its smells like citrus perl! (IDK if it is citrus pearl.. in NewZealand everyone has crazy names for strains and every time we got a strong citrus smell we would say oh thats citrus pearl for sure haha)

Anyway.. get back to the point before my stoned ramblings take us back to 1996 on a warm summers morning...:dreamy:

I am thinking that yeild should go up, but I am more looking for those oh so needed trichomes, I want one of those plants that looks like it has been rolled in iceing suger and i think its possible with these lights.. some LST and a top or two =)

I like the reflectors because they have a veg and a bloom switch and the Mars II does not. Thanks Dennise for all your help and your wonderful journal. I ended up going with 2 of the 96x3w reflectors and 6 of the Mars 1200's. Now I just have to anxiously await for their arrival. Will start a grow journal soon, just getting the last of my supplies ordered this week. Still need an RO system and a few fans, then I should be ready to rock. :thanks:

Woah thats a-lo-ta light right there!! 6 marsII 1200's!! How many plants will you be tending to? I imagine you could get close to 100 plants with that much light! Im comparing to HID but about (6) 1000 watt hps and that would do over 100 plants..

You must do a journal!!
Also NorCalRider did you notice on that website it says free shipping but includes the shipping in the unit price?
 
I ordered directly through Sara, so she gave me the best pricing including shipping. My veg room is 6x8 and my flower room is 10x12. Both rooms have almost 9' height. Really looking forward to seeing how well these do. After reading Jon's journal I'm getting excited.
 
Ok I have another Question... Im looking at the 48x3 and the 96x3.
The 96x3 is $215 shipped or for two 48x3 it would be $264.80.
I'm thinking a few things here...
1. Is it best to have LEDs facing straight down or are angles better? as in /.\
2. Is it better to have this light as one unit or as two?
3. Could you flower two-three smallish plants in a growbox with one 48x3 light?
4. What would be the max number of plants you could grow with a 96x3?
5. Last but not least,(dennise) have you noticed any diffrence in heat from the 96x3 compared to the 48x3?

I really like this company, seems the have gone the extra mile on customer support, thats hard to come by these days!

This thread sold me on the lights. Customer service these days is a lost art it seems. The results of these lights are proven multiple times and seeing how well Sara has dealt with any concerns made up my mind to spend this much without trying a single light out first. If they work as well as I hope they do I will be buying a bunch of lights later this summer.
