Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Can’t wait for the lights to have the new logo. New look new feel. Hopefully it presents the company as a different one that so many people didn’t like in the beginning. I’ve seen a drastic change of quality since the first mars lights and the new ones. And the old ones do just great. The new ones are even better and hopefully the new logo reflects the new life mars hydro has established within its company.

:thanks: We will use new logo in our next production.
We posted your growing picture to Instgram, one grower asked if you can get a close up,he would like to see the crystals

PPFD graph for the Mars II 1200:

Maximum PPFD usable by cannabis in natural ambient CO2 levels (400ppm): 500 PPFD (25% photosynthetic rate)
Maximum PPFD usable by cannabis in maximum usable CO2 levels (1500ppm): 1200 PPFD (100% photosynthetic rate)

Approximate PPFD at 18" height for Mars II 1200:

1x1' center: 900 PPFD (90% with CO2, 20% without)
2x2' ring: 500 PPFD (75% with CO2, 20% without)
3x3' ring: 250 PPFD (50% with CO2, 10% without)
4x4' ring: 150 PPFD (25% with CO2, 5% without)

Mars Hydro Coverage Claim: 4x4'

The Mars II 1200 is not a 4x4' light, and neither is the Reflector192 or Epistar320.

I'm pretty sure the ppfd is even lower than that chart. I gave away all my mars lights. Work good if your trying to grow one plant. But their cob light looks to be pretty good quality. They need to just focus on these instead of the cheaper line, epistar diodes are technology from 90's, put more heat off than light.

I would buy the cob light. I want to see a fixture with 10 or more of the cob setups with added diodes. I just build my own but I would definitely buy one if they went that route. Kinda get what you pay for in lighting, that's why good lights are expensive. I have 4 grand in just one of my lights, but my ppfd measurements are same throughout my room. You should never have this big of a drop off, numbers should be same at every point.

I am now more aware which is why I dont like to put too many eggs in my basket. A few cheap lights wont kill me but if I'm gonna rig up a large room I need to know this kinda stuff now not after $$$$$$$$

Hey Sara feel free to share these as the close ups

Thanks for your testing pictures.
May I know which brand PAR meter you used and where did you test it? In a grow tent or other environment?

We have different series lights with different coverage, chips brands, ppfd, not all lights only can grow one plant. It also depends the strain and growing ways

Good light can save cost in the long run

SmokeSara

I found a note in my mail yesterday. I think it's from Mars Hydro :)

I have no idea what you sent me, but I must say I appreciate that you sent something.

You know I've been so sick I haven't been able to do much layely. But I'm getting better every day now.

And I got really happy that you sent something at all because I didn't expect anything. I'll pick it up today :)

Not sure i dare to guess what you sent. A Christmas card? Sunglasses maybe? Or a yoyo hanger perhaps? Let's find out!
