Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:thanks:Morning, Dennise~:circle-of-love: Thanks for the help!:ganjamon:
:passitleft: High Shelby... I'm not sure what medium you are growing in but assuming it is soil.... I add 5ml per gallon every watering and if they still seem to be a bit deficient I bump it up every other watering to 10ml... so 1 time water with 5ml then the next 10ml and that should take care of your problem... I have yet to have one that required more than that and you don't want to over feed them... That causes just as many problems... Hope that helps a bit....:circle-of-love:

:circle-of-love:Hi growstrong, they both will be able to cover the area. However, if you can, take MarsII1600.:cheesygrinsmiley: More power will maxmize the possibility of higher yield.:Namaste: The BTU of MarsII1600 is 2555 and that of MarsII1200 is 1883. :circle-of-love: I think you can handle the temp in 4'x4' grow tent.:high-five:
Hi guys, I have been following this thread for quite awhile now, and plan on pulling the trigger for a mars2 light here in about a week. I am going to be growing in a 4x4 tent with soil. My question I suppose would be for people with experience in both lights. How big of a difference do you think I would get in yield AND quality in said 4x4 between the 1200 and 1600? And secondly how much of a heat difference do you think these lights would have? I don't plan on upgrading equipment any time soon so what I buy will have to last me awhile. Would it be worth it to just go ahead and get the 1600? or should I save a few bucks? If it makes any difference, this will be my first time growing.

:party::party:Brian, I have liked it!:cheertwo: I do believe you will do better in the next running.:high-five:
Hello guys, i just thought i would post my entry into the mars cup here on my thread hope you guys like and if you do please like the video on youtube to help! the plants in the vid are actually the other 3 seeds from the dark dragon 10 pack that ended up female :cheertwo:

:circle-of-love:Hi Shelby, hope it works. Keep us posted.
Thank you, Dennise, I use mostly FF soil in my Mix. What I will do is make a slight incremental upward adjustment supplementing CalMag first, then wait and see the outcome.

:circle-of-love:Hi jueyman, Reflector144 is rectangular. You can choose between MarsII700 and MarsII900. They both will be enough, while MarsII900 has more power.:cheesygrinsmiley:
I made a thread asking for lights advice here . In short words I will be buying the 3x3 tent from Mars and I'm deciding in what would be the best lights for that tent, REFLECTOR 144,MARS II 700 or the 900.

:thanks:thanks for the advice, wildjim.
I would go with the 900. Better to have more power than less when growing under lights. My suggestion is to get the most you can afford.

:circle-of-love:Hi jueyman, MarsII900 will not be overkill for 3'x3' area. The draw power of MarsII900 is close to 390w. You will get about 40w per sqft. It is not over.:circle-of-love:
Hi

I have a good budget for this, I'm just a little clueless and don't know if by buying the bigger models I will be over powering the tent. Is that not the case and I could go bigger there is no problem with me in spending more.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Sara. At first I was not able to decide because the reflector option for veg and flower. I'm a newbi so I'm kind of clueless. But looking at every post in the forum it seems everybody says to go with the Mars ii. So I decided to buy the 900. I'm waiting to move my new house and I will buy the lights and tent from your site.

:circle-of-love:Hi ca4life, MarsII900 is not enough for 48"x48" area. MarsII1200 and Reflector192 will cover the tent. I advise you to choose MarsII1200. It will draw more power than Reflector192.:Namaste:
Hey sara! I'm interested in getting a MarsHydro 48"x48" tent and one of your LED grow lights. I'm deciding between the Reflector192x5w, MarsII 900w or the MarsII 1200w. Can you please help me? I also added you on skype!

:circle-of-love:Hi Ding, I am sorry about this. We couldn't accept return after 6 months... Right now, we don't have repair service center in Canada but we are trying to find reliable one. In US, the repair centers have changed for three times. Finally, we have find one trustworthy and responsible. It's not an easy journey. We are trying. :Namaste: So we hope you can fix it on your own with the parts we provided. If you coudn't fix it by yourself, we hope you can find someone who will help you and we will pay for the repair fee. This is the best solution we can think of for the customer so as to save the time.:Namaste:
After 6 months of use and this is what happens. There warranty service will send me new leds to replace the bad leds and I have to solder or find a business that will solder it for me. No repair service in Canada they said but they will for sure sell one to a Canadian. Not very good customer service. When you have a product and if fails after 6 months in should be replaced ASAP. Not like I was using it or anything.

:circle-of-love:Hi ca4life, Reflector has different design than MarsII. The gap between each leds on Reflector is wider than MarsII, so it will cover more area. However, the average intensity on average of MarsII is more. MarsII1200 will produce more heat for sure, but I think you will handle it.:high-five:
But on their website, they say that the Reflector192 covers 4x4, that's why I'm hesitating! Also, will heat be an issue if I go with the MarsII 900w or 1200w?

:circle-of-love:thank you, Dennise.:circle-of-love:
The reflectors do put out a bit less heat but to be honest you will need 2 of the 144/5w IMO and if you do go with the Mars II... they do put off a bit more heat but it is not unreasonable.... In a 4x4 you should be able to vent it and keep your temps down enough as long as the ambient temp in the outside room is not to high... I keep my house about 69/70 and run a 2'3"x2'3" with a 96x3w reflector and add a Mars II 400 when I switch to flower and I can vent the heat with a small fan inside the tent and a small fan pulling heat out of the top of the tent without a problem....:circle-of-love:

:circle-of-love:Hi jingbo, we have explained this problem before and will take responsibility for it. :Namaste:
Mars had some bad lenses, lots of people got burned out just like that. They state their warranty right up front. For one year they'll send you parts. If your like me you simply won't come back.

:thumb:yes, it's very easy. We also have tutorial video for the repairment.
Well, the way I see it, soldering irons are not expensive, and Google can teach almost anyone how to solder, one can try to learn something new that may benefit you down the road.

If it were me I would accept the free replacement part from Mars and replace them yourself. In the past I have learned how to solder and it is not difficult at all. Even a DAL (ding a ling) could do it.

:circle-of-love:Hi jingo, on another forum, I have sent you the message but until now still got no answer. So we don't know how to help you... We have repair service centers in other countries. :Namaste:
I mean I won't buy mars again. I do buy a lot of Chinese products, but mars aren't for me.

:cheertwo::cheertwo::cheertwo:awesome grow, gudyul!:circle-of-love:
no stretchy fluffy bud only dense dank kind. Mars 1200. Have not had to change a bulb of late..

Hi Sara, thank you very much for your quick replies, i appreciate it! Do you think you can give me a discount when I order a MarsII 1200 and a Mars 48"x48"? It will be tonight and i'm from Quebec, Canada!

:circle-of-love:If you are in US, MarsII series is with switches for veg and bloom.:high-five:
