Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:circle-of-love:Hi super, now our Reflector192 has been updated to 5w. 5w will draw a little more than 3w and penetrate better, but will run a little bit hotter. :circle-of-love:
Does anyone have the model #'s for the Reflector 192*3 & Reflector 192*5. Or know a way to check to confirm which of the two a light is.

:party:Congrats, Engineer!! Hope your plants will like it.:cheertwo:
On a side note, my Mars II 1200 came in today. It is rather nice being a few hour drive from a distribution center.

Guys and girls, to the experienced growers, how often per week do you add Calmag? I am adding 5ml calmag per gallon ever 4 days and (4) of my (7) girls are experiencing a deficiency. I water ever second day and grow in soil under Mars LED.
Otherwise all is well.

Do you have any pics? 1t per gallon every 4 days should be more then enough. It may not be Cal/Mag. Upload a pic or two and let's see. :peace:

:passitleft: High Shelby... I'm not sure what medium you are growing in but assuming it is soil.... I add 5ml per gallon every watering and if they still seem to be a bit deficient I bump it up every other watering to 10ml... so 1 time water with 5ml then the next 10ml and that should take care of your problem... I have yet to have one that required more than that and you don't want to over feed them... That causes just as many problems... Hope that helps a bit....:circle-of-love:

Hi guys, I have been following this thread for quite awhile now, and plan on pulling the trigger for a mars2 light here in about a week. I am going to be growing in a 4x4 tent with soil. My question I suppose would be for people with experience in both lights. How big of a difference do you think I would get in yield AND quality in said 4x4 between the 1200 and 1600? And secondly how much of a heat difference do you think these lights would have? I don't plan on upgrading equipment any time soon so what I buy will have to last me awhile. Would it be worth it to just go ahead and get the 1600? or should I save a few bucks? If it makes any difference, this will be my first time growing.

Hello guys, i just thought i would post my entry into the mars cup here on my thread hope you guys like and if you do please like the video on youtube to help! the plants in the vid are actually the other 3 seeds from the dark dragon 10 pack that ended up female :cheertwo:

and here are my weekly updates on the mars pro epistar 160 LED test run, i have had some issues but next time around i will grow them in coco where i have a bit more experiance so stay tuned :Namaste:

Hi Dennise, is there an easy way to spot this deficiency? I've been adding 1ml CalMag to 2l of water err, 1ml per 0.5 gallon sooo 2ml per gallon on every other feed. I'm under a Mars II 400. I appear to be using a lot less than you use.

Wonderingly

Yea.... I would just go ahead and raise it to 5ml per gallon... It just is for some reason under LEDs... I have yet to not need to add cal/mag and the soil I use is a living soil (PeeJay's soil mix) which is a just add water soil.... I used Fox Farms before I found PJ's recipe and I had to do the same... Now I just do it without thinking cause I know it's gonna need it being under these lights.... If you can post a pic of the girl you are concerned about I will try and confirm it for you but you won't hurt her by increasing to the 5ml per gallon.... just don't go over that unless you are certain that is the issue.... Hope that helps....:circle-of-love:

Thank you, Dennise, I use mostly FF soil in my Mix. What I will do is make a slight incremental upward adjustment supplementing CalMag first, then wait and see the outcome.

I made a thread asking for lights advice here . In short words I will be buying the 3x3 tent from Mars and I'm deciding in what would be the best lights for that tent, REFLECTOR 144,MARS II 700 or the 900.

Shelby I'm using 1 tsp (5ml) per gallon sensi calmag into tap water with GH nutes Ph 6.2 for every watering during flower. Not much yellowing or spotting until late flowering.

I would go with the 900. Better to have more power than less when growing under lights. My suggestion is to get the most you can afford.

Hi

I have a good budget for this, I'm just a little clueless and don't know if by buying the bigger models I will be over powering the tent. Is that not the case and I could go bigger there is no problem with me in spending more.

I use tap water for my hydro system. It has calcium and magnesium built in, so no need to add it ;-)
But like the other guy said: pictures please. It might be something else.

I have never heard anyone complain of having toooo much light but you most certainly can have to little.....:circle-of-love:

Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to get decided in what lights to buy, it will definitely be a mars one since I read a lot of good reviews. So far everyone wrote that I should go with the 900 between the options I wrote but I wonder if it would be good to go higher.

Cal mag deficiency mimics rust fungus and lots of other issue your right pics would be nice.
