Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Hey sara! I'm interested in getting a MarsHydro 48"x48" tent and one of your LED grow lights. I'm deciding between the Reflector192x5w, MarsII 900w or the MarsII 1200w. Can you please help me? I also added you on skype!

After 6 months of use and this is what happens. There warranty service will send me new leds to replace the bad leds and I have to solder or find a business that will solder it for me. No repair service in Canada they said but they will for sure sell one to a Canadian. Not very good customer service. When you have a product and if fails after 6 months in should be replaced ASAP. Not like I was using it or anything.

we've seen it here time and time again..... pay for what you get honestly.... spend a little more but get a reliable vendor that will stand behind their products....

The reflectors do put out a bit less heat but to be honest you will need 2 of the 144/5w IMO and if you do go with the Mars II... they do put off a bit more heat but it is not unreasonable.... In a 4x4 you should be able to vent it and keep your temps down enough as long as the ambient temp in the outside room is not to high... I keep my house about 69/70 and run a 2'3"x2'3" with a 96x3w reflector and add a Mars II 400 when I switch to flower and I can vent the heat with a small fan inside the tent and a small fan pulling heat out of the top of the tent without a problem....:circle-of-love:

Well, the way I see it, soldering irons are not expensive, and Google can teach almost anyone how to solder, one can try to learn something new that may benefit you down the road.

If it were me I would accept the free replacement part from Mars and replace them yourself. In the past I have learned how to solder and it is not difficult at all. Even a DAL (ding a ling) could do it.

I solder all the time myself, build Ramsey kits and such. But, my trials in my space with my growing style, didn't do any better than hid. Again, to be fare, my environment.

Others mod these lights and are very happy with them. The new lights supposedly don't use lenses, which is good since that's what failed above. So maybe all will be good.

:hugs:thank you for this positive feedback, Engineer~~ feel free to share any pictures here.:)
First impression, its heavy (relative) but it is more powerful and quieter than the unit it had replaced. I love how uniform the light seems to come out, the Mars II 1200 seems to be a great fit for a 4x4 tent :thumb:

:laughtwo:he will make it this time because of your help.:tokin:
just ordered a third 48x5 reflector yesterday for a friend. With a hope that this will not explode on him like his tree CFL bulbs have done in less than one year *LMAO* but yeah you never know with this guy :goodluck:

:straightface:Shelby, I am sorry to hear about this. Could you post the picture? It's better to diagnose.:Namaste:
Guys and girls, to the experienced growers, how often per week do you add Calmag? I am adding 5ml calmag per gallon ever 4 days and (4) of my (7) girls are experiencing a deficiency. I water ever second day and grow in soil under Mars LED.
Otherwise all is well.
