I would love to but seeing how good it did with the hps and led I think for me it would be better to use the 60x5s I have with the hps. I could keep the light for another month before I can't return it, so I can finish this grow with it but I don't want to run down a light then return it I would rather just return it so they can at least resell it. I guess i had to high of expectations. I just wanna make sure I get what I need from this grow.

An honest test would have been to grow two plants under both setups, two under just the 1200 and two under the two 60 x 5s and hps.You set your parameters around the free use and return of your light and it does seem as though it was orchestrated from the beginning. If you ever do find THE right out of the box combo that ANYONE can turn pro with little or no learning curve I would hope to read about it, good luck with what ever choice you make but remember the only true test is to commit to one style or the other and stick to it. If you took off running leading with your right foot and kept switching up your lead foot... you will fall down and thats a fact jack:) Either way good luck and settle into a well devised plan and stick to it.

Hello Sara. Hope all is well with you. Have a nice New Year celebration in February!

I use a Mars-Hydro 48x3 reflector to germinate seeds in a Root Riot plug and to raise the seedlings for about two weeks. Then under my Mars-Hydro Mars II 900 or Mars II 700 at a 20/4 light schedule for the duration when I grow my Autos. I use the Hempy technique with 100% perlite in 3 gallon buckets. Wonderful plants that are two to three times as large as dirt grown. And no dirt means no B-U-G-S!!

I absolutely love my Mars-Hydro Lights. Two years old and no problems, ever. And 11 ounces of tightly packed flowers from one Autoflowering plant shows just how great these lights are.

This would be Dark Dragon by Kingdom Organic Seeds, thanx for the compliments man always lots of love from the mars hydro family!

:circle-of-love:Hi BrixNewb, it seems a lot people will choose us for the first time grow under led.:cheesygrinsmiley: I am so happy you like their performance.:Namaste:
I wanted to chime in with my Mars Hydro LED experience. I am an inexperienced grower and I started with a large HID setup. Had always thought about LED but wanted to let the technology advance and prices come down before I jumped in. I was clued in to the older style Mars Hydro lights being on sale. Ended up picking up two of the 300 watt (135ish actual) units and throwing them in a veg tent working out to about 55 watts per square foot. I started three seedlings under the lights and moved them to another tent and moved a small autoflower into the tent and she has been under the Mars Hydro lights for about a week. She is growing quite well, the nodes are tight and the rate of growth is fine by me. These lights actually surprised me. For the price I wasn't expecting much but I think they will do great for my small tent.

:drool:wow, CareerHigh, this looks very appetizing.:thumb:
Just an update chopped my Sunset Sherbet on 1/3 and dried slowly for 10 days and now curing. Got 45 grams flowers and 25 grams trim along with 10+ grams of fan leaves. Pretty satisfied with this grow and just cut down the Black Lime Reserve next to it just now and its currently drying in the tent. Pics when I can accss a PC.

:circle-of-love:Hi Stoney, I am sorry to hear about this. Please don't give up on the MarsII1200. In general, the bud under HPS will usually be bigger but it will taste better under led.:hugs: Since you hope to try out led grow light, you can stick to it for the first running with all led. Then you will know the difference and make the decision.:Namaste: And Stoney, grow under LED is a little different from HPS. First time with led may not achieve very good result, but you will do better and better with lesson learned.:high-five: The light has peformed well so far. As others have good yield from it, you should have confidence in yourself and the light. :high-five:
Ok so looking at the under growth of my canopy I am kinda disappointed with the shallowness of the light penetration. The nugs are nice till about 6 inches down then they just look so small and nothing compared to the side that had the hps. My experiment with the led hps combo is the best results so far. Which leads me to want to only use led for extra lighting and not as the main light. So what I think I am going to do. Is take the Mars ll 1200 down and put up the hps with the 2 mars 60x5s on each side. I feel that is going to give the best penetration and overall results. I don't understand the under canopy because I have seen some videos with the Mars ll 1200 and the undergrowth was just as good as the top, so that has me thinking maybe I got a bad led unit. I don't have time for this grow to not be what it should be and seeing the flowering results so far I am less then impressed with the Mars ll 1200 for flowering. For veg it's great. But for 3x the amount of a 1000 watt hps and 4x them amount of a 400watt hps I would think it should have great penetration and the under growth would be awesome. Now I am not saying Mars leds are no good because lots and lots of people have grown with them they just don't seem to be what I was hoping or looking for. I will give it another week with the led to see if they catch up and if not I will return my Mars ll 1200 and go back to hps.

:circle-of-love: Thank you for the advice, Versai.:circle-of-love:
Wtf? Grow however you think is best, but don't knock a light that you haven't even finished 1 grow with, and then suggest you'll get yourself a refund after using it. You kept your light way higher than recommended for a long time. I told you about the shallow penetration and how best to flower with it. It's something all LED's struggle with. You have to train, defoliate, feed a bit differently than with HID.

You are not even 4 weeks through flowering... the flowers are only beginning to swell. You should just be patient and stick with your plan, then you can make all the posts you want about how awesome/terrible it went. If it's really a big deal you could harvest the top shelf when ready and wait for the lower buds to finish.

:cheesygrinsmiley:Klovneposen, you are also a spidermites fighter.:hugs:
i think you should do a hole grow before dropping conclusions on any light jmo :) i think i get a ok penetration.

this white widow seedling were 13 inch tall så not so big maybe bud small buds shot up from under the ground and i had to dig them loose from the soil actually :) under 48x5 reflector. gave me nearly 60dry even it had a had time untill i got those mites under control

other one i have flowered is this one. and both had spidermites the hole run so they could properly have done even better, this on gave 107 dry. both under 48x5 reflectors

*LOL* i forgot to post the pictures i wanted to show to you when i posted before

so i think they are more then ok for the price. and i have been a real LED skeptic and HPS fanboy to the max.

:circle-of-love:Morning, Glitch:circle-of-love:
I think your on the right path..I think to be comparable to hps you need more wattage than the minimum of 30 per square foot. Also the spectrum needs to be on point. Ways for watt this is better than cfl on intensity and penetration. And run cool. Hos is tried and true led is still evolving. Imagine the poor saps using 1 watt LEDs in the last 5 years.

Ok here is my weekly video update featuring 100% mars LED panels! hope you all enjoy, cheers

:party:Cat, thanks for updation. It looks you have everything in your grow room.:hugs:
About 3 weeks it is now time to water my Plants again.
I have premix water in my 25 gallon water tank with Silica and Cal/Mag set to Ph 6.5.
I use this mix every other watering without the Nutes added.
20160118_074626.jpg

I then fill the Blue Picture, for watering with the Nutes, 1/2 full and then squirt one pump from each of these Nutes.
Pro Grow, Silica Blast, Sweet Berry, & Liquid Karma. The Ph is still around 6.5

Plants are looking great.

:circle-of-love:Career, it's a very good habit of learning. I believe you will achieve better yield in the future.:high-five:
Honestly, I'm surprised because its my first grow. Thanks MH and the forum for the long continuous help and I've still got a lot to learn. You guys have been great.

:thumb: that's well said, Klovneposen. I hope to have a teacher like you, of great experience and life wisdom.:high-five:
so just wait untill you find you right plant training regime, get into a good use of some line of nutes and learn your lights dues and don't peak distance penetration abilty etc. im sure if you train the next ones properly you will easily double you result with a bit of practice. One years dedication and doing your damn homework and keeping a disciplined approach to the hole thing, you'll be as good as any guy up in here almost :) if you have a wee bit of a brain its not rocketscience to grow with respectable results. Its more like mowing the lawn on a small green John Deer lawnmower with a beer in the cupholder and a blunt in the hand :) nice and stress reducing 99% of the time :)

:thumb:this is what I thought will be the best way.
