Honestly I don't spend much time at all in the flower tent. When the plants go in there, most of my work is all done other than a defoliation after about 3 weeks and watering them. Most of my tinkering is in the veg area. I have some thoughts in my head of grow shelves that I can pull out that will raise up.

My dad is a former NASA engineer and can build anything. He is coming out in a couple weeks and I am going to run my ideas by him and see what he can come up with for a plan. Essentially when I pull the shelf out....I will either raise it or lower it (my idea has two levels.....so the top level would come up, then out, and then down to about waist level. For the bottom level, it would come out and then up to about waist level. When I get done watering and training, I just drop it right back down under its lights.

Just thinking about a Lazy Susan carousel....when it clicks around to the front position could be raised and lowered...
 
Yeah something like that.....but he is a lot more creative building wise than me. I just need to convey the idea to him and let him have a couple weeks to tinker with it and put something together.

He has been building his house out in Idaho for a while now (by himself with his wife), and he engineered the house so that he can heat the whole house with his downstairs fireplace.....up to about 75 degrees in the dead of winter out there. He has propane heat but rarely uses it.

Beauty of a basement is fairly constant temps.

I might cheat this winter and grow at our cottage which basically has a root cellar with lowest temps being 40F (versus 15F in the GH...)

I'd love to do it in a full 2-car garage. Monster grow space! LoL

Oh, I'm sure.... if I ever did one that big, it would be completely framed in with 2X4 walls, insulation, sheetrock.... It could get pricey, I'll just keep parking my cars in there for now. LoL
 
I like the basement idea....just need one with high enough ceilings to fit that 10x10 tent. Though it would be nice to build separate rooms for veg vs flower vs breeding, and so on. I used to work at a place that rented space in a former police station....those jail cells could make for good grow rooms!
 
Hi Blew, more questions here please. I have my first outside girl in a 25 gal bag now in the yard. I wonder when it's time to water. I do know when it's time in the tent from looks, weight. I'm at a loss for signs since I don't think I want to wait to see droop. Or do I? I've been watering on 4 or 5 day periods. What's your view? She's about 4 feet tall now. Thanks
