Maine 4-Season Greenhouse Grow

Damn Blew...that RH was brutal for you this year brother. I am really hoping that next year will let you finish them properly. Hopefully we will have some more strains for you to try next year! On a side note....what was the Stankberry and ATF smelling like for you? Everyone else's ATF has been smelling drastically different from mine. Just curious.

Yep, I learned a lot this year...allowing enough space per plant is a big one...next year I'll have them in 2-3x locations so if rot hits I won't be losing all of them. As far as the smell they are all drying in the basement so it is a heady mix of aromas...I'll know better when they are drying in the root cellar (which is a convenient 63% current;y...I have several open containers with the buds doing another week of slow dry/cure (after a week in the 40% RH basement) before I jar/bag them.

This is an auto blueberry over 3 feet in a 5 gal. Just sayin

Now I could have lst'd better but life got in the way at the time therefore the height.
Gorgeous plant man! Yeah it would have been easy to reduce the height on that by a good bit with a little LST. For those that LST a bit, a 5 foot tent is fine for most strains.

Hey Blew congrats on all your harvests. You worked it pretty hard. With growing conditions like this year, you did very well. I think maybe I'm wrong but being on top of it and harvesting as soon as you see the need is important. 24 hrs could make a huge impact.

Sorry you had to deal with the weather. Its gonna be different next year. Pretty much the only thing you can count on.

I live in an area that is WAY more humid in the summer and fall so even indoors is a challenge unless AC. I just bit the bullet this year and its AC until the fvcking DEW point drops below the ambient temps at night. It's been like that in the daytime and at night with the dew point. Wet is a thing. Yuk.

Sidewalk dry, skin and clothing wet just taking a walk. Nothing much grew outdoors here this summer & fall. If we were subsistence farmers it'd be a bleak winter. Root crops FTW.

GL with your indoor grow this winter. It's fun to see a room full of flowers after being outside in the snow.

On your next year outdoors. There are strains that are mold resistant with short growing season. Check out Mandala seeds. They are breeders from the PAC NW and they grow cannabis that can withstand the weather outdoors up there. They list which strains are mold resistant and how well they will do for ya.

It's worth checking into. I know all the fancy names of some strains are enticing believe me I do but tossing 1/2 a bush wood be heart breaking for me. I've been there and will be again I'm sure.

GL with the indoors. For autos in soil I grow in a shot gun formation. 3x5' table and grow 20+ plants in that space in #3 square pots. They rarely get over 24" tall and not bushy. 20 plants each a zip+ dry weight, do the math. It will work for ya and you don't need a big space and a lot of lighting.

Yeah in a 3x5' I might get 2 PHOTO plants in that space, and MAYBE a # dry/trim'd indoors. With AUTOs you can do it easy. So say 20+ Dark Devil plants = bank! Everybody loves that weed. I have to hide a stash for myself every time I run it.

Hiya BH,

What's your gameplan for next year? Just curious. I've discovered a hydroshop nearby said they'll have "moose and lobster" strain for next year. I'm going to grow 3 of those. Bred for Mane, with mold resistant genetics and shortened flower period. Beside those, I'm doing some more autos in soil. Hopefully ones that will get big.
Have a nice winter grow!

Thanks for the positive feedback...there were some hard lessons learned this year but that all stacks up to experience. Could you drop a photo here of your shotgun auto formation? Wondering if you could grow them in a common pot (stock tank).

And, yes, someone was kind enough to hook me up with some DDA seeds so that is most def on the menu.

Also just looked at Mandala and saw that I could get them on @SeedsMan...which is awesome since I have a $50 prize from runner up POTM! Using all of it for their seeds...thanks for the lead.

Did you harvest? Lots of rain coming in the next day. Was thinking about you looking at the weather. I still have a bunch of photo (and auto) seeds I'll work through so I'll just try to improve on my method and realize that some may not make it. I'm using 2x or more GH next year so I'll think about how (and what) I want to grow in each.

I'll still grow autos next summer but I was definitely hoping for bigger/better plants out of the bigger 10-gallon pots. I am pretty convinced 7-gallon is plenty and it is more about the lighting. Why I am def leaning towards autos over the winter...18/6 and they are happy campers.

Hiya BlewHiller,

Hurricane Michael has made landfall, and yes I'm keeping an eye on it. It's supposed to go out to sea off the Virginia coast.
I have not harvested. They're still getting fat. But if Michael doesn't go out to sea, and comes up the coast, I'll harvest. They won't take 50 mph winds.I'll take a couple pics just before harvest. Kinda fun playing the gambling game. But, I know when to fold them!!
Like yourself, I haven't much practical experience, and I'm learning tons about works and what doesn't work for me. The fun never stops, lol!

I hope that hurricane misses you. But you might be surprised at how much wind plants can take. This pic was in about 50 mph.
that was early on in my grow, but they took it pretty well. And last weekend we had some pretty harsh winds too. And although the GG4's took a beating, they still made it. A few smaller branches broke and some of the big colas got tangled up in the trellis, I didn't lose anylthing.

Well I don't usually take pics of my AUTO plants. They dont really measure up tbh, to my PHOTO ladies so kinda just grow em out. The DD bag appeal is A SHIT TON better than any plant pics. Plants look pretty pathetic but the results are there.

Here's a pic I took of one of my grows. This was when I was transitioning to all #3 pots. Now it's all #3s and I just stack them on the table as close as I can to each other can get pretty many like 20 or so in a 3x5 space and run about 450w of LED lighting on em.

The #3 pots are square and are a little taller than what you see here. They are good for start to finish for AUTOs and I use them for VEG too so can veg PHOTOs right beside AUTOs running 20/4 and just move the PHOTOs out to flower and/or my VEG room which is larger than the 3x5 seedling table I run the AUTOs on.

I'll be running a bunch of AUTOs again this fall... getting ready to pop some seeds. Gotta get the PHOTOs going first tho.

Did you check out Mandala website... they go into a lot of detail about which strains are mold resistant. I used to run them in the summer time here for that reason. I never had any mold problems with their gear. They also sell seeds but only specific times of year. I actually got some of my Chemdawg seeds from them the original versions.

Yes, I checked out their site and plan to get some of their genetics. I got a $50 prize from @SeedsMan and they sell them...so using all of it for Mandala.

I hear you...the DDA was a fairly ugly plant imo, but the buds are definitely impressive.

Friday Bud Porn...Stankberry was harvested early due to epic humidity but she still yielded some nice nugs....she had 5 days drying in 40% RH and now into the root cellar for dry/cure @ 63%.
