Maine 4-Season Greenhouse Grow

Can’t wait to see what you do inside. Growlights.ca has good tents for a great price but since your in the USA I’d recommend the Vivosun off the zon :) Gorilla is my dream tent
I hear that a lot about Gorilla, yet see very few because of the $$$.

They need more of a presence here in Grow Journals ;)

Does Maine offer discounts on sales tax for SP installations?
Hmmm...not sure if I know...and we've have 2x installations. We use Revision Energy (which are a fantastic company serving NE) and they essentially give you a package (as most installers do) with a bottom line (and I just looked at the invoice and there was no sales tax line item.)

Our first installation we got a Maine Energy Credit (as in a check!) for 15% of total cost...that was in addition to the 30% Federal tax credit...that was 6 years ago. Maine does offer some killer rebates (again, a check in the mail) for energy efficient upgrades/installs...we have an electric heat pump ($700 rebate) , electric heat pump hot water heater ($500, now increased to $750). Love both of those appliances btw....

Yeah the price is the main reason I steered clear of Gorilla Tents.

I have a 10'x 10' Hydrohut Silver Edition that I will hopefully be putting up soon.

Wow that’s great for Maine residents. Lots of incentives.
Ive worked several storms helping restore power for C Maine utility, and noticed Maine offers net metering ( or some form of compensation other than net metering ) to SP customers who generate more power than they use.

Last yr I produced approx 6.92 KW ( just over 9KWh ) on my twenty five 320W solar panels. No regs in my state as far as size limit of SP.. And you bet your ass I took full advantage when I designed and built my system.
On sunny days I sell MY (excess) power back to the utility grid. When the sun isn’t shining they give me the energy I need. Every month I get a check for the difference, and I can tell you it is much greater than their $35 delivery charge.

That Maine Energy credit sounds like a sweet deal for their customers.. Good for you!

We are looking at solar here in Mass. Probably won't get around to it until next year. I might have to pick your brain on what to consider and some of your lessons learned.

10x10?! Reminds me of Breaking Bad!

We currently use net metering, but we designed ours the opposite way...exactly what we use...2x 3kW arrays into same Emera account...here you can only get credit and it's only good for a year, so no reason to go over. Last month my electric bill was $7. Most of the time the admin charges are more than the energy delivered. We look at it as a fair deal for consistent power. Pika Energy, a Maine company, makes inverters that can instantly switch between grid and storage in the event of power loss (or full time if you want)...we got one in anticipation of getting batteries when the price drops.

My first advice is only get it if you know you'll be there for more than 10 years.

But otherwise I love everything about solar...just annoyed that battery storage is taking so long to drop in price.

Yup, I stink (haha) at naming scents...plus my hands still smell of fish from this morning! But, they smell GREAT and are stacking hard...it's getting difficult to get images...i have to stand on a bucket and still pull them down (for the big clusters)....

Those look amazing. I can't wait to see the finished product. But it's gonna be good. Real good!

No reply from Gorilla after 2x messages which, from a customer perspective, isn't the best sign. I was at least hoping for a "nice try, but no" response! They did just decrease their prices across the board (which means they were too high imo) and, with the 420 discount, makes them significantly less...but still more than I care to spend. Vivosun actually has a sponsor page and you can fill out a form about your internet presence (this is my only real footprint) but they had a line for "grow journals" so what the hey...Gretsky said you miss 100% of the shots you don't take!

56F here this morning...finally. Mist is on the pond and plants are cozy in the GH...
