Magnus8's Canna Cream, Body Butter & Canna Lotion Study Hall

I was wondering the same thing. :thanks: for asking.

Hi ladies, both Cannafan and SweetSue and everyone else of course...

So where does one pick up silkscreen cloth? Fabric land?

for where to get the silkscreen cloth see DrZiggy post #274.

Blogging posts I want to remember is an AWESOME tool here on :420: and I use it often.

Now, I'd like a favour from you, too, Magnus -- Any chance you could put a Subject of some sort at the top of your teaching posts so that when I blog the post, I don't have to read through everything again and then try to figure out what I want to call this blog? Mucho gracias, amigo.
:thanks:

And that, my dear friends, is more than enough for today, right?

And may I ask something of you all in return? Would you all please begin to blog all these posts for future reference? I would hate to have to begin to repeat myself after taking such time to write this all down once already. I'm not lazy. I just don't see the need to repeat so much information when there's so much more to come.

SO MUCH MORE TO COME?!? ARE YOU NUTS?!?

Well, yes.

Well chit Now I'm confused plus last time I road a bike I hurt myself. I also thought vitamin E was a preservative.
I was seriously thinking of mixing 8 oz Shea butter, 8 oz Aloe Vera gel, 1 spoon of vitamin E to an oz of bud.
I guess I will put the breakers on that until I get more Ed ja medicated.

Thank you, Cannafan! You ROCK!

:circle-of-love:

I'll make a heading at my blog titled Magnus8's Creams/Lotions Study Hall Info...or something like that. Then I'll add your informational posts and points of interest as we go if you like.

Done! I have turned off comments, and will try to remember to do that with each blog post so that any questions that may come up while they are at the blog, should be directed here. :)

Magnus8 -Introduction to Lotions and information on the ingredients

Magnus, you are set as category #4 on the blog list of categories. You might see it way at the bottom until the system allows the category changes. Sometimes it takes a while.

DeVille, I believe that the canna lotion/cream/butter won't be as effective if it's not high in THC. I think SweetSue posted something along those lines.

I absolutely want to learn.

I just wonder why you want to have thc in the lotion? Personally I would rather smoke the buds and use leaves and stems.

What advantages do you get from using material with high thc content on the skin?

Hello all.

A quick note to let you know that when I was on Amazon ordering some cookbooks that Cannafan recommended to me, I also ordered one pound of organic beeswax pastilles. I'm nowhere near ready to make cream or lotion but I need to start somewhere and that appears to be one of the key ingredients for canna cream.

Oh, and Magnus, I answered your PM days ago. :slide: Just sayin'...

I love that you are starting from scratch, and was really hoping you would say that. One of the reasons I didn't get much into lotions was due to the push to buy the basic pre-made lotion in bulk. Even the soapers books I had at the time sent the reader in that direction. I really didn't trust completely what was or wasn't in them, or how long they had been sitting on a shelf.

I am being a good lil' student and taking notes, and I brought extra pencils for anyone who needs em.

:circle-of-love:

I found the same thing when I first started learning how to make lotions. And so many books were so basic and they directed me to buying the same "starter kits" that were basically just lotions that required you to add scent to the mix. Couldn't stand it, and decided not to stand for it, either.

Don't feel bad on mistaking the Vitamin E as a "preservative". It is a very common misconception, and I believe it comes from the hoards of sites and books through the years that mistakenly claim it as that. I was mistaken on that for a while myself. But....it didn't go to waste. There are many many benefits to vitamin E.

To be absolutely honest, DeVille, I don't have an answer for you.

I know about the high THC from SweetSue, who posted that info into our thread a bit of a while back. She informed us that in order for our topicals to work, they must have high levels of THC in them. I must admit that I never questioned her on this, but accepted it blindly because it came from SweetSue, who is always so well researched on everything she says. I just accepted that if it came from her, it must be true. I know that I should have asked her about it then, but neglected to do so.

SweetSue is a voracious researcher and truthteller. When she says something it is because she has found that info in the course of her research. I know that if she says something then it must be true. I blindly accept anything she says, a trait in myself that I should question.

Please feel free to make some sort of topical while not using THC and reporting back to us as to its efficacy. I would truly love to hear what you have to say about it. If it does do he job for us, then that would be wonderful now wouldn't it. But I fear it would be too much like any other topical without any form of cannabis in it -- just another topical like any other you could purchase in a store.

Please feel free to do this and to let us know your results.

Excellent question. One would think that we're dealing with inflammation in most cases, so wouldn't it make sense to make the creams CBD dominant? Well, it's been tried, and across the board patients prefer the creams with high THC. This is because the CBD works over time, reducing the inflammation. It tackles the causes of pain, with the anticipation of no pain in the future.

THC hits the pain receptors themselves, right here and now, cutting off the signals before they get released, and stopping the signals that go shooting to the brain. It tackles current pain, and does so better than just about anything else, when dosed responsibly.

I will surely try to remember to do this! Please forgive me if I forget sometimes...

Just a note on my own cream, made with coconut oil because I have psoriasis and avoid grape seed oil. It's a fairly potent THC value. I don't often have pain, so I don't have much use for it as a pain med. Recently I wrenched my left knee, and it's decided to make me say "ouch" every now and then and making walking something I have to think about.

Then I remembered I had this cream, and discovered that a tiny bit, rubbed onto the knee joint, relieved the discomfort almost completely. Sweet!!

One of the benefits that I will be making these creams for is:

THC helps to relieve pain, including localized pain (outer body). Infused in creams or butters, It is used for sore muscles, relieves symptoms of arthritis, and other diseases that cause discomfort. It helps wounds to heal faster and is reported to help to relieve back pain and stiffness.
Mixing my cco into a cream and using it on a stiff/sore knee that was threatening to get worse, relieved it. It loosened up, along with exercising it, and I have little trouble with it now.

Hey Moe,

Hang in there buddy! We'll all get to learning tons about how to make lotions (and creams, which is what you are trying to make) as time moves onward. You've got some good ideas already, though. The addition of Aloe Vera gel is a great idea, though you are thinking about adding waaaaay too much in your formulation above!

I'm humbled by your faith in me Magnus. I do my best to be diligent in the research and be straightforward in the admission that we're all learning as we go. I'm a voracious student, but I also have no ego, so if you catch something out of the ordinary or questionable I count on you speaking up. The sooner we uncover any missteps the sooner they can be edited.
