- Circulation Fan
- 00:00-24:00 Low Speed
- Exhaust Fan:
- 00:00-04:00 High 75F / 65% RH, default off, Max 3
- 04:00-24:00 High 80F / 75% RH, default off, Max 3

Medium - 4" pot with mix of FFHF+FFOF+Perlite
Other - Humidifier with distilled water set to 65% RH
Other - 8" Fan
Water - Carbon-filtered well water (100ppm)

It feels like she is growing sooo slowly, but it always does at this stage. I'm sure there is plenty going on below the surface. I gave her her first watering since up-pot today, and that was just 30ml around the outside of the pot. Go roots GO!

I'm having fun dailing in the @VIVOSUN Smart Grow System. I've been trying to understand why the humidity spikes at lights out. Even with the exhaust fan on 3, it still stays above 80% for the entire lights-out period (00:00-04:00).

I think I've figured out at least part of it. I had the humidifier set at 70% and it was on the floor right under Pebbles. It was also right between the passive intake and the AeroZesh output. When the lights went out, the humidity would spike. This kicked on the AeroZesh, which pulled dryer air into the tent right past the humidifier. That kicked on the humidifier, pulling the humidified air right past the probe before being sucked out of the tent.
- Exhaust Fan Settings before:
- 00:00-04:00 High 75F / 75% RH, default off, Max 3
- 04:00-24:00 High 80F / 80% RH, default off, Max 3

Yesterday I did a few things to try to solve the issue:
- I moved the humidifier to the corner of the tent, so that it's no longer between the intake and the AeroZesh.
- I reduced the setting on the humidifier from 70% to 65%
- I changed the GrowHub settings to:
- Exhaust Fan:
- 00:00-04:00 High 75F / 75% RH, default 1, Max 5
- 04:00-24:00 High 80F / 80% RH, default off, Max 3

This solved the lights-out humidity issues, perhaps too much. Now when the lights go off, the AeroZesh kicks on at speed#1 right away, and keeps the tent in the 55% range all night.

So, I'll keep tinkering. I've kept the humidifier setup as it is, and tonight I'll try these settings:
- Exhaust Fan:
- 00:00-04:00 High 75F / 65% RH, default off, Max 3
- 04:00-24:00 High 80F / 75% RH, default off, Max 3

I figure by the time I get the seedling environment dialed in it'll be time to move to veg ;) That's OK, I'll have it all saved in the @VIVOSUN recipe for next grow!

BTW, last post I showed my MxOP mother Linda II in a sorry state. Like I said, she takes it well and looked like this the next day, packed in the corner of my 'Salad tent' (lettuce and tomatoes... YUM).

It''s a fungus that attaches to the roots and helps them take up nutrients, so I don't think it would overpower the seedlings. Many soil manufacturers add mycorrhizae at the factory.

Here's a good read on it:
FFHF has it and it’s never hurt my babies.

I love this setup! Once you have everything dialled in you have a recipe to use so everything is standardised! Oh growing has come such a long way since the early days of street lamps and tin foil! I am in awe :circle-of-love:
Completely agree. Before I would have to fiddle with the exhaust controls knowing that I'd need to repeat this each time I grew. Now at least I know I'll have these controls saved for next grow, and the one after that!

It’s truly state of the art.@Vivosun is years ahead of the competition, what a great setup.

Welcome @Tokin Roll glad to have you here. I followed your light manipulation thread, and know that is one way to maximize a 100w LED. The other being grow and auto and keep the light on as much as possible. I'll be running 20/4 through the entire grow, so the DLI should be good.

I'm hoping I'll be able to top and spread this girl out before flower so we can see how the edges grow. We'll see how she feels about that ;)

Other - Humidifier with distilled water set to 60% RH

Water - Carbon-filtered well water (100ppm)

It's taking her forever to drink any water, but she is growing. I don't love the looks of her first leaves (other than the tiny trics!). She may be just a bit waterlogged, trying to use up the water from her first potting. I'm afraid I may have set the light a little too intense @ 16k LUX. I lowered the light to around 13k LUX (18" @ 50%) and turned the humidifier down to 60%. Let's see how she likes that for now.

Well, the changes to the @VIVOSUN Smart Grow System settings didn't have the expected results. When lights went out, the humidity spiked, the exhaust fan went to 3, and the humidity stayed high until the lights came back on.

How did the exhaust stay on speed#1 the night before and RH stayed in the 50, then the exhaust stayed on speed# 3 last night and RH stayed in the 70s? I'm not sure how that's possible, but my guess is that too much dry air is coming in the tent and kicking on the humidifier. So, I put the night settings back to default to speed# 1.
- Exhaust Fan:
- 00:00-04:00 High 75F / 75% RH, default 1, Max 3
- 04:00-24:00 High 80F / 75% RH, default off, Max 3

And, that did it. I guess the exhaust on speed# 3 is too much, but on speed# 1 works perfectly. Go figure. It must have something to do with the humidifier kicking on or not. I'm still not sure I understand it, but I'm happy with how it's working now. Except for a quick spike in humidity when the lights some back in, the VPD stays pretty even over the 24 hour period.

I'm hoping for a growth spurt here soon. I weighed her today and she has only gone through about 1/3 of the water she was given at uppot.

I'm taking my wife to the beach for our 28th anniversary this weekend and won't be back until Sunday. I'll give her another 30ml around the edge tomorrow before I leave to make sure she's good through Sunday. Hopefully when I come back she'll be ready for a full drink. Until then the Vivosun Smart Grow System will be watching over her :green_heart:

Mad how you can see everything going on with the numbers and stats lol growing definitely has come a long way. Enjoy the beach mate am sure it will be a nice trip :snowboating:

Happy anniversary to you and the missus! We just had our 29th earlier this week. :)

Have a great time at the beach and try not to spend too much time checking out the tent specs on your phone. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Thanks Shed and Happy Anniversary to you as well. You must have discovered the wisdom that my dad passed along to me on my wedding day: "Keep the woman happy".

Oh, and I'll be away from home overnight for the first time since I started growing a year ago, so I'll probably spend more time checking the Wyze cameras ;)

Happy Anniversary.
Virginia Beach?
Haven't been there in a while.
Probably a little more than 28 years.
Hope you and your wonderful wife have a great time.
Relax and don't worry about the girls I'm sure they will be fine.
Take care my friend. :ciao:

I noticed that the exhaust wasn't coming on at all during the 20h day. The set-points I had entered were never being reached (80f/80%), so the exhaust never kicked on. I could have it default to speed# 1 instead of off, but that would be fighting the humidifier. For now, I changed the daytime setting from AUTO to CYCLE. It'll turn the exhaust on speed# 3 for 1 minute every two hours. This way I make sure to flush the air in the tent periodically without the humidifier working too much. The night cycle seems to be working well, and the VPD is staying steady.

This little one hasn't yet finished her first pot full of water from 8 days ago. I'm glad I recently read about the 'pause' autos take in @Emilya Green 's auto journal or I'd be freaking out. I checked my last photo grow, and by day# 11 I'd already fully watered twice and she was on a two day cycle! But then I compare pictures at the same age and they're about the same. Both are pushing out their third node. So instead of panicking and drenching her today, I gave her another 30ml around the edge and then an extra 30ml all across the top. I want to make sure there's plenty of water for the feeder roots while the tap root's working to drain the bottom.

I still have the @VIVOSUN AeroLight set to 'seedling' spectrum at 50% intensity giving around 13k LUX. I guess now that she's pushing out the third node I should go ahead and switch to 'vegetative' spectrum and start increasing the intensity. Of course, this is my first auto grow so I had to do a little research on light requirements. I'll be using the following guide for now, but I'd love to hear how others auto growers ramp up their lights in veg, or how you determine DLI for different stages.

Pebbles sure does have her own personality. Oh, and a face only a mother could love ;) I'm assuming this is just the auto genes and she'll grow out of it. She definitely has some 'interesting' growth so far and more on the third node coming out, but at least the leaf surface is starting to look better. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be slowing her down much if at all. And if she can ever finish her first pot of water I'm expecting a growth spurt any time now...

Hey @Bill284 I'm having a blast with the Vivosun Smart Grow System. I'm still in the seedling stage right now, but I think I'm going to change that today. She's pushing on her fourth node, time to give her the full spectrum ;)
