I've been tucking and plucking every day for the last two weeks so I gave Pebbles a break today. I had to tighten two carhooks, everything else is looking fantastic. The canopy is still nice and even. Her top buds are 18" apart, and she is still only about 8" tall. She's really filling in nicely in the middle, I love that the really small branches in the middle are almost as tall as the rest now.

She has a few yellow leaf tips, but I'm not sure if it's under or over feeding. The worse tips are on the newest growth on the older outside buds branches. The new growth in the middle looks perfect, and the rest may have a little yellow tip or not.

Since I just fed her a couple of days ago, I'm letting it ride for now. We'll see how the tips look in a week or so.

Lookin good. Aren't those Carhooks great! ? Yeah, you want to give them best chance possible of holding in place so best to place the hook high on the stick.

Agree with Shed on the serration tips... however, you'll know best. Do you use the Photone app? I don't know why everyone doesn't, although I have it on both an Apple and Samsung and I find the Apple app version to be more accurate. I don't want to sway non-Apple users away by any means, the thing is a game-changer, and maybe I'm doing something wrong that they'll help me fix. Nonetheless, the app permits me to set my light via DLI or PAR (PPFD) and this is the proper way to manage grow light intensity, bar none. Right now I've got my new little budlets under 1000 PAR or 42 DLI, pretty powerful light and the fixture is still a meter away and not at 100% I might turn it down a smidge today. I love my lights, 1100W is awesome. When I get controller(s) I'll be able to run the 720nm diodes as trigger lights and that will be another game-changer, taking 15% off of flowering time and helping to limit stretch.

I brought that up because I was wondering what is the nm of the reds on your light there, and do they offer any Rx's that allow for only the reds to be on for 10-15min alone before lights out/on

Well, keep on keeping on, and if you have any SIP questions just tag me, happy to help. If you have red light questions, tag me and emilya. Thanks for journaling this grow and showing us this equipment. If grow hub was availa year ago when I bought all my equip I may well have purch'd, esp if such a good journal was avail showing it off, and it still might convince me for the future.

Oh, and @ReservoirDog , you asked me about my IMP on my other thread and I forgot one thing; I use boiling water to steam all of my soil before it goes down to the basement. This kills any bugs+eggs in the soil.
Thanks! I was putting mine on cookie sheets and then into the oven, and for small amounts, I use my electronic pressure cooker (8 litres max). However, now I've started building a steam box. It's an ex-large black plastic tote of 65 gallons and is connected by a silicon tube (must be silicon) to a hand-held steamer that I bought for cleaning each tent between grows. With a fitment I can connect the silicon and then using an oven thermometer from inkbird that's placed in the middle of the grow matrix inside the steamer box I can monitor the temps. You could also use a long meat thermom. or a compost pile thermom provided it went high enough. You're looking for 275 deg for 15-20 mins. Of course, this leaves nothing living, so for LOS soils this is not appropriate, however for LOS soil additions, or large amounts of amendments of sketchy provenance I would put it through the steam box for sure. Because I also do mycology it has extra utility for me. I also have smaller totes I can adapt for use to do smaller amounts with. I really recommend it, and I'll show it off when I have it finished. Still waiting for my tubing, finished otherwise.

Either way, pasteurizing or even sterilizing indoor grow matrices is a hugely worthwhile endeavour so long as it isn't a LOS soil. Now, creating your own LOS can start with this as a good first step because then whatever you add, is all that you have living in your soil, and particularly if provenance is in question or potential diseases are in your area that are particularly worrying, I say go for it.

I do use the photone app, which I have calibrated using my LUX meter. I raised the light 2", to 14" @ 490 ppfd, 25k LUX, 35DLI.

There is a sunrise/sunset mode, but I'm not sure what it does. I'll get more information on that.

Thanks for all of your help RD and I'm following Emilya's journey as well. I'm very encouraged that she doesn't seem to be having any problems with the Geoflora.

I don't use much soil so steaming with boiling water whenever I get a new bag works for me. That steam box idea is great, though, especially if you are going through some soil. Either way I like the idea of killing anything in the soil, then adding back any microbes/fungus I need.

Weekly Temperatures

Other than when I open the tent every morning the humidity is staying nice and steady. Temperatures have been a bit low this week because I was cooling/airing out the basement for the other grow pre-harvest. That's done now and I'll let it warm up a couple of degrees this week. The VPD is staying in a nice range, averaging 1.1.

Pebbles is almost up to 2 liters/day now and shows no signs of slowing down.

Between harvesting my big tent and my birthday this weekend, not much got done with this girl. You can tell, too, because she's getting bushy. It actually looks good on her, she was a little bare in spots before. I'm still picking a couple of leaves every day, but only those that are covered by other leaves or can't be tucked under another bud.

I'm still trying to keep everything as even as possible, but I'm also letting her grow vertical now. She grew a couple of inches this weekend and I'm expecting some more stretch this week. I'm considering putting up a net and letting her grow into it. I have a hard time believing she'll be able to support all these buds, and I like using the net a lot better than the bamboo stakes. I'll see how she grows this week...

Zeshalistic budMan!
Thanks SO. Unfortunately, I received the replacement AeroZesh yesterday and it was damaged in shipping. One more try...
Looking fantastic in there LKA, and a belated :happy-birthday: !
Thanks Shed.
I'm curious to hear if you notice a difference in the upper leaves.
I still have the yellow tips. Of course with this girl stretching I need to keep measuring the light distance. I still can't believe the light tips are caused by < 30k lux.
Flowers coming !! :green_heart:

And lots of them too :)

I look at that plant and how beautiful she's doing on 100 watts of power. It's incredible!

I was just sitting here after I replied to your post above and realized that the AeroLight is still on VEG mode! I went down and took pictures of the light in VEG mode and FLOWER mode. It looks like the same lights are lit just with different intensities. I could definitely see a difference in the spectrum when the light switched to flower.

Pebbles is almost to the end of her 6th week and she's flowering hard. I just tightened up a couple of LST points today, and no defoliation. I'm trying to leave her alone as much as possible through the stretch, while still keeping everything as even as possible. I've been watching her growth on the time-lapse camera and she really does look more like hydro than soil; she's constantly moving and growing.

She still has some yellow tips, but I still don't think it's the light. Here is one of the oldest and lowest leaves on the plant, and there is still a little yellow tipping on it.

At only 35-40DLI I still can't believe it's too much light. My best guess is that the soil is a little hot (Sohum amended with Geoflora), but that's not a bad thing. Especially at the rate she's drinking and growing.

I wasn't thinking the yellow tips were from the light, just the curled up edges.

Happy Belated Birthday - Water Pipe.jpeg

Hope it was a good one.:green_heart:

I didn't think you could do all this training to an auto, that too much training would stunt them, but this one seems to be taking it in stride! Awesome planting big dog. Gonna be interesting to see her grow.

I did more research on the yellow tips yesterday, and I guess it's almost never nutrient burn, which would be more brown tips. It really looks like the picture of yellow tips from too much light.
That's a gif worth posting!
I'll try to get a 'day-in-the-life-of' gif put together.

Thanks HG and no worries, it was a great birthday. My kids came up from Richmond and hung out for the day. Of course, now one has covid so I'm hoping I didn't get an extra birthday 'treat'.

Watching @Emilya Green with her auto gave me a lot of confidence that she would respond well. It's my first auto, too, so I figured why not go for it ;)
