Weekly Temperatures

I'm still waiting on the 2nd replacement Aerozesh so I have a variable speed exhaust fan for now. It's really hard to get a specific humidity manually, because a little change in the exhaust makes such a big difference. So I set it as low as possible, and as the humidity goes up or down I fiddle around with it until it's good enough. Fortunately, the VPD is still pretty good for early flower.

The other problem with the exhaust always running is that it doesn't allow me to keep any heat in the tent. Without the big tent running in the basement, it's been cool down there this week. It's warming up over the next couple of days, though, and the temps don't seem to be bothering her right now.

I'm giving her water twice a day now to keep her res full. I threw in some terpinator with the water today, and I plan on feeding her tomorrow 11 days after her last feed. To grow her best her roots need water, air, and nutrients. The SIP is taking care of the first two and I don't want to fall short on the third. I feel my chances of overfeeding with Geoflora is much less than the chances of her running low on nutes in flower. I figure there's 3-4 gallons of soil in there, but I'm going to feed her as if it's 7 (2/3 cup of Geoflora Bloom).

I didn't do anything to Pebbles today other than water her. Her canopy is still nice and even. Her vegetation is getting a little thick but a couple of days without plucking will do her good.

I raised the @VIVOSUN Aerolight 2.5" today to keep it 14" away. I should still have plenty of room for her in this tent as long as she doesn't do anything crazy ;)

BudMan that Fruit Punch auto is on overdrive! :Rasta:

You're only about 2 hours from me by car. We should swap some of out FPAs.

I'll give you half of mine for half of yours! :)

I think forgot the standard disclaimer for these swaps:

You and your advisors should conduct a thorough, independent investigation of the amount of cannabis offered to determine to your satisfaction the suitability of said cannabis for your needs.
I've known @LKABudMan for months! I don't believe he's the type to get caught up in technicalities. :laughtwo:

I think VPD management could be the killer app of the Zesh/Aero/GrowHub system. I use an AC 6 inch fan, w/AC Controller 67, and automated but not intelligently connected various other enviro controls a la Inkbird. I further monitor with randomly placed Govee wifi/bluetooth VPD loggers around the tents and lungrooms, and it's not so easy to manage VPD without the expressed preprogrammed and automated capability to manage the gear for this metric. Without it you are committed to making manual program changes whenever you see the barometer make a move, and to do it inside a short time window - or don't bother.

Frankly, here in my coastal tempurate rainforest enviro that sees more frequent, substantial air pressure swings than just about any other 'densely' populated location on the planet, I'd really (really) prefer to leave these adjustments to some proven tech. I cannot acheive this level of VPD stability, thus far, without manual switching to different preprogrammed settings quite frequently. Hat's off to @VIVOSUN. I don't know if it could handle the 5x5 setups, think I'd need quite a few Aero lights to replace my 1100w KB's, but perhaps the hub alone can manage. If you're really game for taking some AC market share, @VIVOSUN, shoot me a PM. Kudos to you LKA, and your sponsor.

Pebbles shot up another inch yesterday to 14 inches tall. She's drinking over 2 liters per day now, and she's getting bushy because I haven't plucked her in a couple of days. She's loving the @VIVOSUN AeroLight and she's nearly wall-to-wall in this 32x32 tent!

Today was feeding day. I took out all of the carhooks so that I could top-dress her. I had to do some trimming on the lower half as well. There were too many leaves hanging down low to get access to the pot. I also got rid of all of the suckers, or branches growing from the bottom of other branches. Well, I kept a few that had made it to the canopy. The rest got chopped.

Then I fed her. I gave her 2/3 cup geofora bloom. I started by roughing up the soil around the outside of the pot. It was very moist which made the job pretty easy. Then I spread the Geoflora evenly around the outside of the pot. Then I mixed it in the soil until it was no longer visible.

After everything was mixed in, I watered her with 1.5L of water with 5ml Terpinator. Once she was watered thoroughly I topped with a few handfuls of fresh dry soil, then sprayed that down to wet it.

That should keep her happy for another couple of weeks. Her canopy is still pretty even right now, so I'm going to keep the carhooks out for now. I'm still considering adding a net to the tent for support. We'll see how she does this week.

That's a wonderful sight to see. Youve done an excellent job there my friend 👏

She's just about perfect, BudMan! :thumb:

Pebbles sure is a thirsty girl. I looked at my past soil grows and I was giving them 2.5L every three days. Pebbles is taking 2.5L every day! I'm loving the SIP so far, and only having to add water is a nice bonus. I certainly don't miss mixing nutes all the time, especially now that I need to fill her twice a day.

Pebbles has almost doubled in height since she started flower, from 8" to 15.5". It was getting harder and harder to maintain her canopy as the branches got further out from the bucket. Also, I foresee her needing support later in flower.

So yesterday I put a support net in the tent. First I took Pebbles out and took the wheels off of her tray. With the net installed the bucket can no longer be moved, and it saves me a couple of inches on the bottom of her bucket. I put a couple of pieces of cardboard under the tray to keep her off the concrete floor.

I also added a 12" floor fan to the tent. This fan blows diagonally across the tent to make sure there's airflow through the bottom of the plant. It also helps make sure there are no micro-climates in the tent, and that the temperatures and RH are as uniform as possible.

Then I installed the net. I had to raise the pegboard a few inches so the net would fit under it. Then I tied it at the four corners using taut-line hitches. The net is about 16" from the top of the bucket, or about 31" from the tent floor.

Finally I put Pebbles back in the tent. I had to raise the front of the net to get her in the tent then lowered it back down. Pebbles just fits under the net without touching. I was able to leave the light alone, since lowering her bucket bought her back to 14" away from the light.

By this morning she's already touching the net. I'll use the net going forward to help keep an even and well-spaced canopy. As buds poke above the net I'll lean them out and let the rest of the buds catch up. Hopefully by the end of this week she's done stretching and all of the buds are above the net. If not, I'll lower the net a little. My goal is to have all buds supported by the net to finish up flower.

Great job mate, really appreciate the journaling. Looking forward to your thoughts on the equipment as we hit the home stretch. I really hope you get all the gear in hand asap. If you already do and I missed it, apologies to you and Vivosun.

So, I run big DIY SIP tubs with two 10 gal soft pots in each and my solution to managing the outer limbs was @Hafta 's CST (constant stress training) using weights. I really, really like it. I use rocks with duct tape wrapped around them and then create a duct tape tab, which I puncture, slip a wire through and then, after slipping a small section of soft airline on the wire to protect the plant, just let'r'hang. Inside I use Carhooks to great effect. I'm very happy with both and they complement each other beautifully.

Very nice canopy. I love the idea of using weights on the outside branches. Those branches look like they are ready to hold some serious weight!

Pebbles is still stretching but so far everything is staying relatively even. A few branches started growing through the net so I bent them over into another square. I also removed a few LST tie-downs from branches that needed to get a little higher. She needed 1.8L in her res this morning, so she's trying her best to fill in that net :)

That’s incredible for a little over a month and a half, great job BudMan and @Vivosun.👍👏 CL🍀

Heya Budman! I havent been by in a few weeks and holy cow!!!!
Absolutely amazing growth and just textbookly handled. This thread is one of those 420magazine pieces of gold that people will be pointing at for a good while.

I got hit really hard in the cash sack and all of my indoor plans for this winter are shelved for a little while. Ive been busy but looking so forward to getting back here more to cheer and learn and drool over the class level journaling you (and others are doing here).

Been out there singing yours and Vivosuns praises. Im now saving with an eyeball to dropping the cash on a 4 Aerolight, 8 inch 'Vest and Smart Grow system. Was thinking for a 48x48x72 ish. Now Im thinking that it might be too much light in a 4x4 after catching up, whatcha think? I wonder if the system adjusts wrt overlap in a 4 light situation. The light and maybe even the fans?

Loving this journal so much!

Thanks Captain. This system is amazing me too. I can't believe she's drinking more than 1/2 gallon every day!
You're really showing off the setup in there LKA... :welldone:
Thanks Shed.

Right now I'm running 650w in a 48x48x72. I ran 400w for my first four grows and I was really happy with the results. I upgraded for more even coverage. The @VIVOSUN AeroLightx4 should have a really nice spread in a 48x48 tent.
