Lil' Girls - Various Strain Continuous Grow Journal

Hi Lavendar. Huh, I use about the same technique on seeds. Just put a damp papertowel in the ziplock, but dont fold it over. I can see the sprout this way. same thing tho. good to know that after about 9 days they're probably bunk. By now I think it's a dud, but it's still in there just incase. The other seed germinated, and is just sprouting from the coir that I planted in. WOOHOO! now I'll have a g13 x Purple Nepal. male of female it makes little difference to me. It just sucks, I have over 20 of those, and only one of the purple nepal landrace. oh well. There will be more I guess.

I went over and checked out your hash making! Nice work there. I bet that takes a while, huh? I'm thinking about getting some bubblebags, but so far its still just a dream. I'll probably just keep making budder, oil, and stuff to cook with for now anyways.

Keep up the good work lav!!

Update:

OK, so My veg area is maxed out for now while I wait for a Large Cindy99 Cutting to get over transplant shock and I have a G13 x Purple Nepal seed that just popped out into the light. I have introduced Bio Co2 into the bloom area yesterday, and am still waiting on cuttings to root from the 2 papaya phenos. the original 2 cuttings rooted then died from pythium/stemrot so I figure that my ancient supply of Plant success is just too old. I went over to the hydro shop and picked up some OregonISM that incledes bacteria and micorhizia combined. Watered it into all plants young and old, and put a touch into the new cuttings durring cloning. We should be all good now.

In the Veg area is:
Cindy99 'newmom', White Rhino 'new mom', Papaya 1 Pheno mom, Papaya 2 Pheno mom, Cindy99 transplant for breeding, White Rhino cutting taken thismorning, Papaya1 cutting taken tuesday, Papaya2 cutting taken tuesday, and G13 x Purple Nepal seedling.

The Cindy99 Breeding plant was a clone I brought home from a friends house from some extras that I gave him a while back. Its a full plant actually, but needed a little calmag, and time to root into the coir. Tomorrow is the day that she goes into Breeding. With or without others. I'm using a secret mix (I told a friend that I wouldn't release the secret Hermie ingredient) to turn her into a self pollinating machine. I have been slacking on getting the extra light in the breeding chamber, alot of family matters have come up, so, I'm putting her in there alone in hopes of collecting some pollen for later. I WILL NOT lose these bomb genetics, so if this fails I'll go at it again. Try, Try again is my motto.

THE BLOOM AREA:
Chrystal; yes you remember her. she has wicked trichome production, and has the biggest yield per plant so far since I have started this journal. She was vegged longer since there was a wait to get into the area, and has really busted out the buds. a couple are as wide as a beer can and a couple beercans tall. She grew soo fast she caught me off guard, and got burned by the light a touch for a day. some leaves were effected, and I think that might be why she's running late. Yesterday was week 8 bloom. The date that I cut the last Cindy99. I cut her a little early since she has sativa traits (in the smoke) and she was a real winner. Girls dig it, guys seem to like the couchlock more, whatever. lol I like what makes the ladies happy........ ;)
......So I'm going to flush once Chrystal's trichs turn 25-30% amber in hopes to get a more couchlock stone from her while not loosing too much of that up, 'just drank a RedBull' feeling. It's a work in progress. and as much as I love the ladies opinions, i would like to see more medicinal qualities from Cindy strain. I think she's gonna be 11 weeks to finish.

Medusa is the plant that I showed my Domination technique with. She is going to be a monster. she slowed the stretch at about a foot taller than she started just after tying and whatnot. she will be taller than Chrystal with about 15 tops. Keep in mind that she is also only taking up 1' x 1' horizontally. Pack em' in I say. lololol White Rhino teen has just been introduced to the bloom area after a couple minor tie downs to maximize tops (I think she'll end up with about 8, but we'll see how she stretches.)
I named her 'SmallFry' since she looks so puny compared to the other girls.....er.....women in the area. I'm sure that'll change since last go she stretched a bunch and surprised me in the last 3 weeks. Actually the last go the WR were the smaller of the 3 in bloom and finished a tad taller. (Cindy still produced more per plant though.)

....did I miss anything??? who knows. I'm gonna go in there later for some nice Trich shots, but for now, here we go...Enjoy!!

UPDATE PART II:

Ok, so here are more of the Bloom area photos.

Chrystal on the left, Medusa back right, and new Yeast/Sugar Co2 in a 2litre contraption in the middle. We'll see how it works, and if it works well Ill put up a quick tek later.

well, thats it for now. I hope that you 420ers that made it here have enjoyed the show. now it's time for some sampling of the WR, and C99, and some Guitar hero. I've been slacking on the vids. lol, the wife doesn't mind. ahahahahahha..............cough. ;)

The girls are looking GREAT! :yahoo:

The homemade co2 works well for little spaces. I used some on my first PMB grow. 2cups-hot water, 1cup-sugar, and 1/2tsp-yeast will put out co2 for 2 weeks solid. I also made a bubbler/airlock for it...the bubbles let you see how much co2 is being output, and keeps oxygen from getting into the mixture bottle and making smelly mold.

Here's a crappy drawing of how I did it:
co2.PNG

GL with the rest of the grow!!:nicethread:

Hell yea. Nice. Thanx for the diagram, Nothing special is needed, However I'm upset that you didn't put a diagram of the Co2 Molecule, and s splice of how plantcells react to Co2...............................................lol, J/k man. thats a neet tip on the secondary bottle. It'll show when to change out my mix. I'm pretty much a newby about small co2. never done it without a tank and Regulator before. It's always been a bigger setup. this'll help for sure. Nice. Plus Reps if I can.

I used 1tsp yeast, and 2 cus sugar, but didn't warm the water past luke warm, and I thought it was a dud at first, was about to change it out and do it 'right', when i went in there and smelled the beer smell. its all good now. I'm wondering about the output, but anythings better than nuthing, and it hasn't set off the detector that I put in the rom to protect me and the fam. (Mental I know, but since it's just more than me here, it's better safe than sorry.)

Have you tested the output of this type of system?

Thanx again, and stop by more often!!!
regards,
jason

Aw shit, it wont let me rep you yet. WILL SOMEONE ELSE BE KIND ENOUGH TO REP HIM FOR ME????? I'd be very gratefull!!!! GreatfulDead!!! WOOHOO!!!

Also, Does the 2nd bottle help take some of the nasty smell out? I'm getting a growlab for the bedroom soon, and would prefer not to smell beer every time I go to sleep. Might help me become an alcoholic................................again. lalalal.....

Ha! good stuff!

The co2 mixture can take a few days to reach max output. I was never able to measure it in ppm because I don't have a meter...but it was bubbling nice and my plant loved it! Also, the bubbler does take most of the smell out too...no more 'beer' smell.

If you have a co2 meter, I'd love to see what kind of output you are achieving.

:peace:PEACE:peace:

I hear ya. It seems that day 2 was smellier than the previous day. I do believe co2 production is increasing. Unfortunatly my Co2 monitor bit the dust a couple years back, but i'm planning on buying one of those Co2 test kits with the syringe and Co2 tube for $15. at the hydroshop next visit. they work alright for my purposes it'll do......I guess. I got the day off, so I'll be able to make that Co2 bubbler this morning. Thanx again for the great tip. I'll post it once I get it in the bloom area. That'll be later this afternoon when the light comes on.

Hi Mr J Nice, nice tour of the grounds. You have allot going on Buddy,
however knowing you, you probably have records of every little thing that is going on. Nice pictures too! Bud. :thumb:

Hi OMM. Thanx for dropping by man... I've been lurking around your pages, but havent posted in a while. It's about time to get overthere and drop you a line too. What can I say, been busy busy.
lol, Yea, I keep a calendar with planting/cloning/blooming dates, and a nutrient Dosing chart, but other than that it's all in my head. It's really a small garden, so even though it's busy in there it's not all that hard to keep track of. Once you get to know the girls it's easy to tell which are which, and what not. The clones are a little tougher for me, but with only 3 its not a problem. I have them marked just incase I go in there on a bad day, and get confused. hahaha, a while back I had to garden with a hangover, and took out a cutting 3 days after I put it in the clone tray thinking that it was a different clone that was ready to go. took her out of the dome, and walked away to mix nutes. re-entered the garden to find her laying there all pathetic. I about kicked myself in the ass. hahaha....just goes to show how cloudy a mind can be after a night of partying. lol:rollit:

Anytime lav anytime. I'm about to upload some neato closeups of Chrystal, they should be up within a half hour or so....feel free to stop by and take a look if you got the time.

Be right back,
jason

Yea frostiness!! Looking great!!!:yummy:

Oh, by the way...the yeast like a dark environment. You should wrap the 2litre in foil to darken it off in there.

PEACE

thnx for stopping back by! I hope you enjoyed the budporn. Thanx for the tip. I'll do that soon. It let me rep you today. Thanx again!:slide:

hey jason everything looks like it's just rolling along nice and frosty as usual:bravo: and I will also +rep conqueringLoj and you my friend for reminding me I bought all the stiff for a CO2 device and diagraming and picing it out so i know how to set it up after harvest for the next grow :thanks: good growin to ya brotha :grinjoint:

Hey thanx for stopping by man. Thank you for the kind words! Yep. rolling along. Getting ready for some breeding and strain changes soon though.

...You know I was going to stop by your thread, but The link is broken in your Sig. I guess I'll have to get to it manually. :smokin:

Between the 2litre, 1 litre, tubing, sugar and yeast I think I spent like $10. Used superglue to seal around the tubes at the caps. very cheap, and hopefully very effective. it was so cheap i just couldn't pass up giving it a try. It'll be less constant than a tank, but a hellova lot cheaper too. WOOHOO!!!:cheer:

loved the tip on the darkness....have used yeast for yrs....never knew about the dark tho.....thank you....lavendar:cheer:

j.l.
she really looks great, all sugar coated....sooo, how did you do the extra line on the yeast, and main reason? seems like a good idea....used yeast for yrs. just not this grow....too big a room was my thought...probably just lazy...lavendar

am enjoying some bedtime hash.....think i talked poor woods head off earlier, so better get before i go on a tale here....:smokin:

wow, I must have missed your post Lavendar. sorry about the late reply, but anyways, I put the yeast mix in the 2litre, have a tube going from that into the cap of a 1litre (below waterline so you can see the bubbles) and another tube coming out of the 1 litre up to just over the canopy. It's all experimental now, but looks like theyre responding a little already. WOOHOO! ConqueringLoJ put a diagram on my thread not too far back that shows it pretty well.
Hope you enjoyed the Hash and the day of R&R!

...oh, and I covered the 2litre with foil as per ConqueringLoJ 's recommendation. It does seem to increase Co2 Production noticably. Thanx again man!

Update:

Well, Temps are rising outside, so I switched the bloom area to night time temps. I like to run it ON durring the days in winter to increase tempurature variation between day and night temps in there for better coloration of the buds. I think it DOES bring out the Purps a little even with just a little extra cold at night. Lowest recorded temp in there at night this winter was 65, and highest day temp was 90.

Now that the outside temps are increasing, so are the indoor temps. just about hit 93 in the bloom area the other day causing me to take action now.

A single Papaya cutting was taken from each of the 2 phenos on the Tuesday before last, and they were rooted and transplanted this morning. I visited the Hydroshop the other day and picked up 'Crop Circles' (course Coir) to mix with the finer coir for less compacting, and OregonISM beneficial bacteria/fungi mix to replace the outdated Plant success that caused rot in my origonal Papaya cuttings. I spent more than I was planning to (A whole $23.) so decided to wait on the Co2 Test Kit till a later date. I'm not really too worried about Co2 production, so it's not on the top of the list.
...anyways, the 2 new Papaya transplants are the first to taste the new coir mix and beneficials were watered into everyones containers.

One of the 2 papaya moms will be lightly pruned and put into bloom tonight when the lights turn on, and the other will be travelling to my Co-op Patients grow and placed into a WaterFarm along side the original cindy mom (who is just under 5' now) and White Rhino original mom (who is damn close to catching up to moma cindy). I'm gonna take a pic or 2 next res change(If i remember my damn camera) even though I told myself I wouldn't. lol They're just such monsters though, I gotta share a pic.

I'm putting a Papaya into bloom tonight (early) because to help stay close to the 2 week harvests she needs to be put in 2 weeks earliere since Cindy and W. Rhino are 8weeks strains, and Papaya is supposedly 8-10 Weeks, I'd rather have her finish earlier than the 2 weeks than late.

The G13 x Purple Nepal seedling is taking it's sweet time. Almost too slow, so I observed the tiny first true leaves emerging thrue magnification to see if she got overfertilized, or if there was any damage, but she looks great, just being slow I guess. i believe that the slower starts are more likely Female. Personally I care not. Either way she'll / He'll be an asset in my garden.

Chrystal is now in week 9, and will be starting flush on saturday. Day 1 week 10. She's getting chopped Memorial Day weekend most likely, though she is maturing and swelling very well, and is more than likely going to have a nice ammount of amber by then. She is about 95% cloudy w/ 2% or so clear, and 3% or so amber, but the top of her cola just keeps going. It's weird. I think the hot day threw her off (the day she also got some light burn on a few leaves).

Medusa has stopped the stretch, and resumed normal growth rates and super early bud formation. She is going to have ALOT of McNuglets on her. I'm probably going to have to max out the lamp height by the time she's done. She's going to put my LST techniques to the test I think. It'll be close, but then again, if you have the vertical, why not use it ALL? hahaha....;)

Smallfry (White Rhino that went into bloom saturday) is stretching for the light. I'm egging her on, and to get a little more height out of her so she can catch up to the other girls I'm adding .5ml 16-0-0 to her mixed gallon a couple times to increase nitrogen levels in her alone. I've found this pretty effective when you have a runt, or plant that might not stretch as much as you origonally planned for. Just cant overdue it, or "3,2,1,...BLAST OFF"...and she'll hit the ceiling. lolol (I better go knock on wood) Be right back.........

......ok, I'm back.
Ok, The Breeding Chamber.

Well, again I've procrastinated on getting the couple extra flouros I promised myself I'd get for the chamber, but it'll be soon.......i swear.
I decided the best way to light a fire under my ass is to put a girl in there and get started.
SOOooooooo, I put a Cindy99 teen in there to test Self-pollonization technique. She was cut in half on the main stem so she stays small, and watered the secret hermie mix (Sorry, I told someone I wuldn't release the ingredients, so please dont ask) and put in there today. WOOHOO! FIRE LIT.

Here are a few pics to show you how it looks in there.....

I knew these crappy movies were good for something....glad I kept them around. lol
