Light Addict's Fluxing Central - Featuring The Original Flux Journal

Thank you. That was my concern; the organisms in the soil. Normally, I have enough rain water to do the job, but we have not had rain in a few years, like, four years. Some, not much. We are most definitely in a severe drought. I like that hose end filter, but they are crazy at 90 dollars for that. I can gerry rig something myself to hose end filter using carbon in the hose end sprayer. It helps, but...I'll keep looking around.

You in NY? No rain in four years? I hardly noticed. Have you ever pHed our acid rain rainwater; I think that people don't realize how much impurities and chemicals are in our natural rainwater. I have tested the tapwater out here on the Island and it is very pure except for the chlorine and fluoride, and my charcoal filter gets rid of those. I haven't tested it for ssri's and human growth hormones and viagra as some believe is in our water.

I don't live in NY any more. I'm in the south now, but west. Cattle and hats. Or, ALL hat and no cattle, however you want to look at this Yosemite Sam mother father state.

Yes, I have had my rainwater tested. I don't drink it, not potable as is. But for the garden it is perfectly fine. It has a pH of 6.4 and the soil is 7.3 so it should be aokay.

Not only are the mentioned chems in city water, so is diazinon, dursban, glyphosate, nitrates, nitrites, sufides, sulfates, atrazine by the tonnage, etc. We are killing the planet, rapidly. So I'm smoking a joint.

Last post in my current grow thread. All details there, I got raided today.

LA, good words re:bmans post, what a read, wow, please help me with another fluxin acronym!

what is 1HC FTW KC? Rico, just gave me the lol, when I saw it on his sig. I'm back in darkness, lol.

BAR, feel free to jump in here, I'll post the TRAR promo immediately!:thanks: you both!:thumb:

1HC FTW KC, first result when pasted in Google, shows this:

"Don't let negative people bring you down. It's too crowded there!"

I get it, I like it, I agree with it, I'm over it. Gotta love Rico!!!

BAR said exactly the same thing in completely diff words, both great quotes, you guys rock!

Hi Trichster, AKA "outdoor fluxing legend" :) 1HC FTW KC, refers to the "100 club"............100 pages on your thread and you're up for consideration lol :) Loving your flux matey........the young Jedi has learnt well :)

There was mention of getting chloramine out of softened hard water.

I heard some time ago, and not sure if it's true or not, that using a Reverse Osmosis setup on water softened is not good for our plants. This is the main reason I have not added an RO system to my upstairs where my girls grow. Instead I buy 5g jugs several times per week of RO water from local stores @ $1.25 per.

Can anyone confirm whether it's good or bad to use softened water when using an R.O. system?

It is bad to use softened water with a Reverse Osmosis system. The Reverse Osmosis system would work very hard to remove all the sodium chloride and be inefficient to use. There may be a hose connection before your water softener tank.

Everyone, join Cannafan (Princess DIY), KJC (Judge John), myself & the rest of us for the next episode of THE REPS ARE RIGHT tomorrow. Check my signature.

Yes, there is. There's actually a spot they left open to use rare earth magnets as well. I'm not sure how they work, but I wouldn't need them anyway with a softener. The filter I would like is one for the spigot outside. Removing the chlors will really be helpful to everything when it is not raining for months at a time in 100 degrees.

Another question LA

I've noticed on other plants leaves and branches can seem to bud from nowhere

on the stems of more mature plants. Is this possible on those 2 top branches ?

The plant is about 6 weeks old now,I know this kind of stress can slow them down somewhat

but I'm not in a rush to get her into flower just yet. I could maybe remove the top 2 and try getting

something out of the lower ones. Any thoughts ?

Hey BB this brings up something I want to research! I talked about this on Donpauls thread ages back. Anyway I also noticed that some of my plants would shoot new growth as if from nowhere. I also noticed that a good percentage of the sites had a small blemish or mark of some kind.
So to my mind there seems to be a point in the layers of the stem and stalk, that if broken into might promote new growth. I forgot about this to be honest but purposely cutting/scarring a plant is something I want to try.
A other thing I have noticed is if you twist or flip a limb on it access you again sometimes generate more bud sites per branch. Again this is something I need to research further.!
Ill pop back over to yours now BB :)

Good morning LA, good morning all,

I had a plant in our veggie patch that I 'espaliered'. I popped a few in just for fun for the first time when we bought the place, and they ended up growing so quickly that the other half one day chopped the tops off with hedging shears at 3' high, way under the fence line....turned out to be a blessing.

This left long arms, which I attempted to espalier, keeping the ladies, all, happy. :)...it worked reasonably well, considering.

Where I brutalised them tying to the wire, the wind rubbing who knows, there was also considerable, slow growing and short nodal length growth...ending in reasonable, tight buds.

The lowest branches, where mulch and soil was really too close, and the fence wire it was tied to had rubbed against the branches, there was some root development...I didn't make use of 'rooting' arms, but I did made the connection with your fluxing arm proximity to ground level and rooting the arms, after seeing it in your journals.

Obviously I dunno what the mechanism is either other than a bit of biffo gets them going... :)

U guys crack me up.all this tying things down, get that branch an twist it in2 this, make the other 4 branches snap b4 making the other 4 beg just 2 be branches again.I'm expecting light,as ur a fello UK guy,2 switch on Britain's got talent 1 night,an 2 have this guy that amazes people with plants that jump outa their pots an start "fluxing" across that stage.branches coming outa nowhere lifting girls upside down, all while ur standing in the sidelines, tears in eyes, saying "that's my girls", as ant an Dec jump 4 joy as simon says " that's 4 yes's,ur through". 1 man,an his plants:rofl::rofl::rofl:
