here's a reasonable link on chloramine reduction: Removing Chloramines From Water | MoreBeer
standing water will eventually allow dissipation of chloramine but it would take a lot longer than a week. according to that link, it would take around 40-45 days to get the chloramine to dissipate. some combination of granulated activated charcoal filters (Brita) and RO filtering seem to be the most practical.

aquarium sites and beer sites had the most useful links in my google run on that topic.

chlorine and chloramine would have the most impact on organic living soil grows, as they chemicals can be lethal to the desired soil organisms.

Thank you. That was my concern; the organisms in the soil. Normally, I have enough rain water to do the job, but we have not had rain in a few years, like, four years. Some, not much. We are most definitely in a severe drought. I like that hose end filter, but they are crazy at 90 dollars for that. I can gerry rig something myself to hose end filter using carbon in the hose end sprayer. It helps, but...I'll keep looking around.

Some photo updates of my baby plants.

I couldn't believe that root coming out the bottom of the pot! So beautiful, white and healthy. Awaiting another set of nodes. How long do I let the third node grow before topping?

Hey GF, Looking good :) I go micro myself when topping, so straight away. Just make sure to only get the tip and cleanly popped off, the growth at that node, the ones that form the two main flux arms haven't even formed yet when done so early. So making sure to take enough but not to much is the key. Dont end up with 2 sticks like OZ did lol. (Even though he saved em in end before loss).
Of course going later is fine I just like doing anything stressful to my girls on the smallest scale possible! :)

There was mention of getting chloramine out of softened hard water.

I heard some time ago, and not sure if it's true or not, that using a Reverse Osmosis setup on water softened is not good for our plants. This is the main reason I have not added an RO system to my upstairs where my girls grow. Instead I buy 5g jugs several times per week of RO water from local stores @ $1.25 per.

Can anyone confirm whether it's good or bad to use softened water when using an R.O. system?

Bassman, I just did some googling. I have no experience, but all the sites that sell RO are saying that the water SHOULD be softened before the RO, because Hard water causes scale and deposits and reduces the life of the RO membrane.

edit: I could only find why you should, no other information on ramifications for using soft water, just ramifications for not using soft water.

" if needed anchor on to a higher point of each limb to generate some leverage to open her out as she grows. Do it gently in delicate increments! :) she will look like a big daisy at end lol. :) also though dont go to nuts with the angle :)end-QUOTE]

Thanks LA, that's is just what I'm doing! The new lower limb/branches are 2"/ 5 cm now,

should be pinching, bending or manipulating them, or just let 'em grow? This is a double post-pasted here. Would you prefer some of my standard flux questions posted HERE, to make it easier for you? I think you are getting just a LITTLE busier!! lol, OK, a LOT!!

Thanks LMK!!:high-five:
some new lower branches are over 5cm/ 2" here today, thanks again

ok but that's info from ro system sellers right? Not growers.

Edit: where I live, we have the 3rd worst tap water in the country fwiw.

Ok fellow fluxers here the latest. Three WW's 2 fem and in flux and an Auto I just tied down a little. I have on question LA as I will be flipping the 2 fluxers in about another week. Trying to time my vacation in July plus pretty soon it will be to hot. Should I get rid of all the mini veg in the center or leave it on. As always any and all advice is advised. :welcome:

Hey Latin :) as your flipping so soon id just let her be until stretch is done, use all the sites she is producing. If you were going longer then Id say thin em out. Manipulating as they develop yet not taking anything off her is my opinion. Fiddling as she grows over next few weeks is a must :) You could do a slight defol on just leaves if you want :)
My questions were answered before I could ask them. My FLUXY MOMMA might not look like your traditional flux but she's about as close as it gets in the post be-heading days. LB and I are about on the same chapter of our journey.

Here is a picture of what plants can do to pipe cleaners, Fluxy bent the hooked pipe cleaner overnight.

This top wire works far better & can't be bent by plants, & this thin wire is strong & ez to bend with your fingers, no need for THICK wire IMO.

I like coated wire, but I had to improvise w/ what I have.

Just thought I might pull some extra credit for that "D" I got from the teacher, for trying pipe cleaners, against his advice!:circle-of-love:

Hey buddy OK we can sort these lower grow points out by either pinching or another real effective method is taking off the top set of leaves each time a set develop.either way these will just tie in to becoming the base of colas. These will be big ass popcorn bud but not airy, just good dense buds :)

Also if you have any pointing back into center you could let them grow and use to fill center :)

thanks, when you say taking off the top set of leaves each time a set develop

are you referring to lower-new-top-big-shade-leaves or, lower-new-top-sprout-center-small-leaves?:thanks:

this will clarify so I don't remove a top, when you meant remove leaves. hope i'm clear on this explanation. LMK!:thanks:

That's what I thought LA just don't have the time. But come this summer I will start some fluxs that will have the time to veg and stretch. As always thank you for taking the time to teach others.

Yes BAR we are on a fluxing journey that I suspect will take us places we never dreamed.:thumb:
Nice strains GF especially the money maker. I will be following.
As always Trich looking good. Keep up the good Flux
