LED Trinity Grow - Round 1

water temps at 78f are too high. not alot of 02 at that temp. i suggest using frozen water bottles in the res along with a product such as Dutchmasters Zone. root rot will play hvoc on your entire grow and even cause rapid ph swings. if you want to get rid of the rot you'll have to get those temps down.

like your setup. i'm a fellow Led grower and have been checking out superclosets products for awhile.

subbed for sure.

Thanks for the info. I actually was putting frozen water bottle in the res. at the beginning cause we were having a little heat wave, but I forgot to replace it, and then its gotten cooler since water temp at 74.9F today. If it does get hot again I'll definitely put them back, or should I put them in now? Whats the good range for the water temp?
Thanks ;)

ideal water temps are 66-68f you can get away with a little warmer temps if you use a product such as Zone. i recommend Zone cause i have used it and had very good success with it. i would keep using the frozen bottles and add Zone to the res.:)

your welcome to check out my Aerocurrent system setup. i'm also using Led lighting.:)

Hi again Ronnie, tried a google search of "Zone for plants and hydroponics" "water treatment" etc.. and not finding any info on Zone.
What is it? or could you include a link to website where i can see pls?
Thanks in advance ;)

Also ronnie, wouldn't using H2O2 on a regular basis be good enough to keep away root rot, and any other little nasty's?

in my opinion h2o2 is good for a one time shot when you have rot already to help you get it in check. keeping the rootzone optimized (res temps and zone) will keep roots healthy and growing. i feel when you use h2o2 that it weakens the roots a little. thats just from my experience. when i used just h2o2 and had high res temps it was a constant battle with the nasties and i had fast ph swings to boot. roots never fully recovered. now i use zone and have a chiller so my res stays 66-68f.

hope this helps

Thanks a bunch Ronnie, it does help very much. I found an article about peroxide on the site that's got good info if anyone else is curious. ;)
Why everyone should use hydrogen peroxide everyday!

The peroxide I gave the plants was mainly to clean up the roots after the power outage, but the plants themselves loved it. My girls are looking more healthy than ever in the pics I posted today, and lots of new growth. :)

got to say i dont completely agree with that post i tried the h2o2 method with mixed results. but we all try things and end up with what works best for us.

glad to hear they are doing better:)

ps just posted some root pics of my plants , no h2o2 ever added.

Sorry I am late Stealth, your journal is just too stealthy I suppose;) Keep up the good work, hopefully your buds end up with the same shape as your bushy dense girls! Oh and you need an avatar friend.

I'm working on it, today after work i'll hook something up, and welcome to the fun!! Better late than never Rainstacks.
Gotta go change my ice packs in reservoir this evening so will snap a couple more pics. We'll see how the LST has grown back up since yesterday
Hope everyone has a great day, and stay medicated my friends;)

Looks like they have recovered very well from that power failure.:thumb:

Hi doopie, ya the H2O2 worked wonders, they loved it, and it cleaned up the roots nicely, they aren't white like they were originally but don't look that bad anymore. I'll snap a pick of the root mass tonight;)

Did you find out what caused the power cut

No problem with electrical in the house, everything running like clockwork the last few days. We had a thunder storm last Thursday and that must have done it even though the house didn't lose power completely (no clocks reset on DVD, microwave, etc..). I'm thinking it was just over 24 hours with lights off and no air bubbles:( they bounced back nicely though. I'm starting to train them for scrog now. Topped the kush 6 times yesterday but only once on the widow, I think I'm gonna do some more topping on the widow tonight and another shot of H2o2 for both of the girls. Gonna veg. these girls out and train them for another 2 weeks, then into flower for 8 weeks. Should be a Thankful Thanksgiving this year. :)
I also ordered some C02 cannisters for the final month of flowering. I'm getting so excited, I hope i don't mess it up before harvest.

subbed, and im interesting in led & hydro systems.
nice & clear set up. I like it.
keep it.

Thanks Donki:)
Welcome to the fun!! Its been a wild ride so far. Curling leaves, power failures, but I think things are starting to settle down now.

Hi everyone ;)
Time for another quick update. I went to check on my girls tonight, mainly to change out my ice bottle to keep the temps down in my reservoir and PH the water. As expected, the LST that I started yesterday on the Master Kush all righted itself for the most part. I bent them all back down again and topped in another 4 spots. She's coming along nicely. I also topped the Widow in 5 spots tonight. The Girls are going through a little growth spurt;)
I also moved the White widow a row over in the reservoir just to give them a little more room from each other to grow out.

Everything seems to be running really smooth now, I'm gonna change the water for these girls tomorrow night and add new nutes. Gotta build me a frame from PVC tubing, this weekend coming up to place the trellis over. The closets came with a trellis that uses magnets but I want something a little more secure I think. As an after thought i'll mention that my room does not smell at all, but as of a couple of days ago, when i open the door to the locker I'm flooded with a beautiful aroma:)
That's all for now. I'll post another quick update tomorrow after I change the water.
Stay medicated my friends.

Looking awesome Stealth! What a strong recovery. Those plants are growing so so fast, just amazing how fast they grow. I have heard that hydro grows 10-15% faster, what are your thoughts on this? Repps for the Rockyesque comeback!

Good morning Rainstacks and thanks for the reps.
yes, pardon the pun, but they growing like weeds:)
"They" say that hydro grow faster and bigger than soil and so far I'm a believer. The girls are exploding with growth now and from pics I've seen on other grows vs mine at same age from seed, mine are bigger, even after all the mess-ups. Can't wait to see what the CO2 is gonna do. I'm very happy so far with the closet.
I'm off to work, have a great day, and stay medicated my friends.
