LED Grow Test

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

well it seemed to do fairly well for veg. but it looks like it just did not have the penetration that it needed for flowering.... i mean it would be an awesome light to keep mothers under because it doesn't use hardly any electricity and puts out no heat.. it was when you put it into flower that that one plant did some crazy stretching.. if i was going to start using a 600 i would probably use that led for mothers and clones and maybe use the 180 for vegging so i could have a constant supply... have a new batch of vegged plants ready to throw under the hps after each harvest.

the 126w should have had the penetration to do this grow easy, because it uses 60 degree leds. the 180w uses 120 degree leds.
i am going to be using 600w of leds not hps. i am going to give led one more chance, and if they dont give me what i want then i am done and going back to HID. ive been using leds for a year now, so ive done my time with them. i am just waiting on my 600w led unit to be shipped and i am ready to rock it out. i am not looking to match these crazy claims made by led company's, i am just looking to match HPS watt for watt. so i figure for my last grow i am going to go big and use a 600w led unit and if the 600w led lights works good then ill keep growing with it and just use leds from now on.

whoa.. that's badass man.. thats some serious bucks on LED.. i will be stoked to see that.. is it a prosource that you will be using? i almost bought one a couple months back but i wanted to wait and see which light would out perform the other.. but i would just do the same thing with the 600 led as i would with the hps. i hope you get a crazy yield off the 600 because i want see them out perform hps.. that would be awesome.. not having to worry about heat, getting a huge yield and not having to worry about crazy electric costs.. whats the footprint on one of those 600's?

ithink the foot print is 5'x4. its not a prosource. its called a (grow led hydro light) it has 12 spectrum 600w 3w led light.

hmm.. well good luck with it man.. i hope to see some good results.. as for the 126 i'm disappointed just from seeing the pictures. i'm grateful that you did the test.. saving everyone who sees it from a scam

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

G'day Irishboy. I have to say a big :thanks: for doing this test. I was very close to buying a 126W Pen. and you have saved me from making a grave error although Cammie was starting to do a pretty good job of not selling it all by herself. I think I'm gonna stay with my monster CFL's for veg and get a Lumatek 600W or C.A.P NextGen Digital 400W-600W switchable ballast.+rep if I can:peace:

don't just look at my grow theirs allot of grows using this 126w unit also, you could always ask them their thoughts on the unit. don't think is all both of these lights can do, this wasn't a test to show max yield, this was to show what light can produce bigger buds in the same conditions. i wasn't able to do cretin thing to boost my yield because it was a issue keeping this grow 100% fair on both sides. i now for a fact i could have done better on both side if i was allowed. this is a grow that let each plant grow its natural way with not trimming help or any other techniques to help yield, this was just a straight up grow to show each light and witch one was better.

thats for sure bro:ganjamon: a 600w lumatek will make some monsters.

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

Very nice, those pics do a very good job of showing how each light did. Great job and will be in on the 600w for sure....

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

I think the pictures speak for themselves eh? Holy crapoly! I am appalled.

Thanks for that Irish! Can't wait for the scales!

-go-

here are some pics of what i mean on the 126w BD buds being small buds. this pic is a branch not even half way down the plant i made sure to get the top cola in the background to prove this. all the mid-lower branches are this size, must i remind you that these arnt dried buds. their is also a pics of the 180w lower branch to show the differences.
cant blame the grower on this one because the 180w would be the same way if it was me.. i am very pissed off after all that time and for that. their not even dried.

Hold on my friend.. You still have to do a 24 hour flower before you give up on LED's.... Trust me... That will be the last time you need to test led's.. LOL

350w of PAD lighting and 125w of blue LED lighting = 475w total on a 24 hour schedule, will out do any 600w HPS on this earth... Notice... I'm not from earth...LOL..... And do it with less energy consumed then a digital 600w HPS.

600w digital HPS x 12 hours = 7,200w per day

350w of PAD lighting x 17.5 hours = 6,125w per day
125w of blue LED lighting x 6.5 hours = 812.5w per day
PAD lighting and blue LED's Total 6,937.5w per 24 hour day

What do you mean by "PAD lighting"? I assume that's all LED, which leads me to be really skeptical of your claim.

Yes all LED's.. PAD lighting is 660/730.......Skeptical is ok...I would be too...Especially if this info was coming from someone that claims to live on the RED planet...

ya maybe ill give the PAD a try sometime, depends if i can get those cretin leds. maybe ill do the pad with HID? i rather see a grow done first with pad before i try it, so i can see how it dose first.
it will be cool if that new 600w led unit can give me some good yield. so all hope itsnt over yet.

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

So have you received any feed back from HGL.com Irish?

Are you aloud to post things for sale on this site, can someone answer that for me?

re: LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W

Irishboy, out of curiousity, were the lights the same distance from the canopies?

I noticed that the 126w plants seemed to be all over the place, especially one that seemed to stretch. Having one that stretched, did you put the light 6-12" above that one? If so, how high were they above the other ones. 12"-15"? How high was the light above the mid pictures you took?

I noticed that the 180w seemed to have less streching so the coverage may have been easier to keep the lights at an equal distance. Plus the plant looks shorter and a lot less bushy, am I right? Did the 180w have less leaves?

I wonder what would have happened if you thinned out the 126w plant a little, but I guess it wouldn't have been an equal evaluation.

Did you say you had one plant that looked really good under the 126w? What was your best plant under and what did it yield?

I guess I'm just trying to figure out what happened, or I guess what didn't happen.

Im building a grow box and I was interested in using the 126w as it fits the measurements of my area perfectly. Now, after reading your thread, I'm reconsidering. Any help would be appreciated.
