Landrace Durban Poison Outdoor Grow

By the way, I’ve had Durban from a dispensary once upon a time. I wasn’t blown away by the taste by any means. I’m sad to say that because it just seems the genetics have been so poorly maintained it seems.
You SA guys, does your Durban’s ever go purple or is this a result of genetic infiltration?
Hey man
In my opinion the Durban available these days is rather watered down. I got some from a friend who got it from a local guy and it was half purple but really lame. I was disappointed to say the least.
That said I have had Durbs purple late in flower due to temp drops but it's also not the same purple that's popular in US and Europe.
The real deal is incredibly potent and quite similar to land race Malawi.
A couple pulls and you will start with a rollercoaster ride (can be too much for occasional smokers) and then it settles out into a super clear high with no stone at all. Have crazy focus and lots of energy. No noticeable come down and no weed hangover. I have a feeling that it may have a lot to Do with thcv . It's definitely looses some of the rollercoaster after about a month in the jars and then just have that up clear high with no heart pounding or paranoia.
The land race dp smells like pine, lemon, berries and candy floss. There is only a whiff of aniseed scent. It's not the main smell.
Even in our climate I've lost a couple plants so I guess that's just the name of the game.

Morning mr.Rugged hope the sun is shining, 34c today with the promise of clouds...lol
Morning Smeegs
Today's weather report partly cloudy in morning giving way to sun..

Evening mr.Rugged looks lovely from here.... :snowboating: It was rather hot here today and looked like a storm heading in but it blew over....
Got a shock this afternoon when I was in the garden, the main cola on the big shiva girl had a section of bud rot. I wouldn't have known otherwise if I hadn't pulled the leaf there that was yellow and shriveled, them was rotten so I smelt it and it was sour and that's how I found it sadly.
Moths are dangerous with the eggs they lay in your bud and you only norice too late.

Ahh man that's a super kak deal. Hope it wasn't too bad. Still super kak. I've never Had a problem with the African sativa but I've had mates lose boss harvests to rot. Sorry bro.

Hello LeRugged the true Durban sounds amazing. I’ll have to settle for whatever this is I’m growing haha.
Hope your weather is fair :ganjamon:
It is indeed something special.
I'm hopeful you get some bumper nuggets. Rooting for you. It's been 33c No wind and clear sky.
Peace

LeRugged I was curious if you’ve ever perused the ACE catalog from one of the mags sponsors? They seem to have quite the sativa collection. Anyways, one of these grows I’ll be taking a stab at their offerings.

I have not but I'll be sure to check it out. I've still got some land races that want to work with. On a quest to learn as much as possible about these guys first. Still might add something new this spring so I'll check it out

I’m curious about landrace strains as well which is what lead me to ACE.
I think ACE is probably as close to landrace as I’ll ever get.
Hey man. Just had a look at ACE and it looks like they have some decent genetics. Their Malawi looks like the real deal or close to it. I fear I may spend some money hehe just to grow out of curiosity. :)

You and me both!

Evening mr.Rugged,mr.Weedies hop both you gents had a relaxing Sunday, a braai/bbq maby the weather was right for it.

I read your post on my journal mr.Rugged regarding the monsters for summer and I agree testers will need to taken to find a favourite as only 1 favourite will be staying.
I don't think I mentioned that I rescued 3 pipsqueaks from the rabbit and the garden cpl weeks back as they were seedlings that were stunted and started flowering off the bat, I transplanted them into 10lt black bags have them outdoor daytime and indoor at night so the can reveg but due to them being a week or 2 flower they'll turn into natural monsters....:snowboating:

Yeah man those look like they might just go crazy. I do like white widow though. Awesome. Forgot about you biltong cabinet. They are going to be awesome come spring. Still in two minds as to what kind of grow I'm going to do come sept/oct. Not sure if I want to.monster crop again or just go regular and tie down. Still want to try a winter grow here before then and If can get the timing right I might be able to take a small harvest come Sept and then leave some buds to reveg (with a clean up this time ) for the summer grow. Still not sure though. Hope you have a kickass week yo

A good morning to all. Update time:
First big lady.
She is packing on flowers like a good thing. A rouge male somewhere and she picked up a little pollen and a couple seeds developing. I've plucked a couple off gently so Will see if that makes a difference. Bit annoyed but it's outdoor life. Anyways here are some pics.

The mother's are chugging along. The monster crop is going to be a bushy lady which is great the other Durban is a bit stringy and loose. I've chopped her back quite aggressively so hoping she will fill out a bit. Makes sense she is stretchy as she is used to growing in the wild under the African sun. And then a pic to show how indica the MC cut looks.

It's sad to say I've also picked up some stray pollen sadly, got my fair share of seeds, pick them as I go but there more now not much 1 can do....
Looking good in the garden brother check your monster for telltale seeds as she's got fresh looking pistils which will catch any residue, I'm hoping as we head in to winter the extra moisture will kill off any pollen but not sure if that's how nature works...haha

Thanks man.
I pluck about 10 off each every 3 days. The spots just grow over with new flowers after a day or two. Think I'll pluck on Sunday and then leave the mc to finish up. Try keep my yield semi decent. So far not enough pollen to affect potency, maybe yield to a small extent but ill be bleak if it gets worse. Think when I'm in the last 30 days I'll stop plucking and let them finish.
Water neutralizes pollen apparently so maybe some rain will help. You would be more likely to get rain than me though.
Hah now I want to check the weather.

Hey Smeegol and LeRugged! Yeah why not just mist your plants to kill any pollen? Unless this is futile outdoors?
I recently discovered some pests in my veg box blooms like aphids. Wish me luck!

Too many plants has been ruined because someone can't keep their polen to themselves :) however, regarding potency, my last two seeded plants were my most potent as well, so not sure about what to think of this :)
