Lady Cannafan Shrooming Midwest Grow Kits & Spore Genetics - APE, Blue Meanie & More

Hi guys. So I showed the eco 3.0 to a buddy of mine that grows mushies for the farmers market. He saw problems with it. He said there will not be enough airflow inside which will lead to low count and small undersize fruit. He said system HAs to have an inline blower. Also said C.O levels should be 800-1100. Lower will lead to deformed mushies and higher small or no/little. Also said humidity should be around 85-90
Too high cause mold. He recommended a positive airflow system. Said humidity is less important then proper amount of micro water on mush outer skin. Also Only ever place fruiting cakes in the tent. Grow your myc in a dark place not in the tent ever. You all prolly already knew all this but I didn't lol.
There is a fan attached to the heating unit that sits at the bottom of the tent. It blows air around very well in addition to the "fog" from the humidity unit, and there are also several sticker filters to allow for air exchange on the unit. I bought a humidity sensor to attach to the monsoon humidifier and was able to keep 95%.

He also uses spent coffee grounds he collects for free from the local coffee shops. Simply mixes his myc in layers in 3 feet long plastic "socks" with just the coffee grounds and pokes holes around them and he has huge amounts growing everywhere from them. He has like 200 of them hanging and growing. It was an amazing day trip. Saw so many gourmet mushies.

I would love to have seen that. I'm going to be mixing coffee grounds in my mix tomorrow when I break out one of my spawn jars.

He saw the fan but said it will only blow air around that we need fresh filtered air to replace the co high air inside the tent. He said the little passive filter patches will not do it at all. But then again idk. He is giving me a device to set the co lvls and a inline blower with a homemade looking cardboard filter box he has lol. I will try about anything once hah.

So you are going to use the device with the Ecosphere?
I don't have anything growing in the ecosphere right now, so I have my culture jars and such in there in a dark room. I have no humidity running at all or the heater at the moment. Room heat is all.

Yeah so when I put my cakes that are around 2 weeks from fruiting into it. I guess I set the co high and low point and it will kick the fresh filtered air fan on automatically then 2 mins afterwards it will kick back on the humidifier to reach humidity levels. He has his commercial setup at %85 r.h. but uses a micro misting unit to mist the fruits themselves. I just got a little tent not a 2500 square foot facility. Just my little corner in the back of the house lol. He said over %90 can cause mold and soggy conditions. I was told to start dialing the humidity down as they start fruiting to increase yields and potency as that's how it works in nature. It rains they pin then the r.h. drops and that puts them into overtime to try and spore before they dry out and die. Imma have to do some controls and test to see if it makes a difference in our little setups.

Well, Christmas day and we have Tornados going on......in my liquid culture jars. ;-)

The magnetic stirrer is very helpful, it really breaks that stuff up and keeps the liquid from hitting the lid and air exchange filter.

Now I just need to figure out why the video glitches. Maybe it's just my computer? {{sigh}}

No glitches here on my old computer. Could be your internet

I will be watching for your tests and results. :)
You have a great day, I gotta run to another family din din.

I'm wondering now if using the meat from the inside of the caps of the portobello's is going to work. Reading up this morning, it seems the general consensus is that the mycelium is stored in the stems. So, does that mean there is none stored in the caps?
I guess we'll find out.
So, I'm taking the rest of that Portobello cap which had a short amount of stem on it, and will take some samples from the stem this morning onto agar.
One way or another I'm going to learn how to clone shrooms. LOL

Good Mornfternoon all,

I baked some substrate yesterday and mixed one of my birdseed spawn jars into one. This morning when I went to get my liquid culture to mix, I saw white areas all over on the top of the substrate through the plastic. That was fast.

Also, the test I did with the samples from the mushroom cap onto agar might just work. I see white fuzzies all over the samples in the cups. Hoping for the best there!

I might be mixing up one more birdseed spawn jar today into substrate. If I get time.
Hope everyone is doing well! @CaptainLucky ought to have foot high shrooms this morning in that AIO bag. 💕
