Good Mornfternoon all,
I'm up early still preparing for a family gathering here today that I had a one day notice of.
I have some Portobello mushrooms caps that are getting stuffed. Well, all except one......
Guess what I'm going to do while everyone is playing cards after dinner?
Yep, I'm going to try to clone a Portobello.
I would much rather be in a nice quiet shroom room being busy than listening to people argue over a game.
I'm following a Philly Golden Teacher video on this. Basically taking meat from the inside of the cap and placing it on an agar dish.

Do any of the elves specialize in mediation? One is needed at the card table with these players.

Yes, I have a couple that specialize in mediation. Their on the way. But let me warn you. Please hide all the goodies you have stockpiled those two will smoke you out of house and home. Im in the same boat as you Captain Lucky. It makes the holidays way easier. Mrs. Clause and I will be spending a quiet Christmas at home all alone. Merry Christmas to allFor the record my family is so dysfunctional that 90% of us don’t even speak to each other. Smh CL
I have a sister that all she does is create chaos but she thinks that she’s hurting me and my Mother because we don’t speak. Little does she know that we’re so much happier without her being in our lives. If she only knew she would be inviting herself over just to make us miserable. Lmao

YEP! Hypocritical, judgmental, and narcissistic. Okay, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day, and if Christmas was yesterday for you....I hope your stocking had lots of good goodies! 
I'm posting a video here of taking the cultures from the Portobello cap. This is not meant to be a professional video, as you will see. LOL
I'm working on lots of things to make the videos better, lighting..viewing area, and all that stuff. It was the first trying to shoot into the still air box, and I want to see how the resolution appears here. I will be learning editing etc. all this week with practice clips.
I spelled Portobello wrong in the vid caption, but you know what it is.
When you see my hands out of the frame, I'm wiping things down with a paper towel soaked with ISO.
No sound, I'll work on that in later videos. The mic on this video camera sucks.
Everything was flame sterilized before going into the SAB>
Now, this method is supposed to work and develop mycelium....we shall see. I chose a nice meaty part of the inside to take samples from. Those caps were huge, yesterday they were delicious stuffed with lots of good eats, and were a hit.

I find it way easier to put the 70% isopropyl alcohol in a small fine mist sprayer as opposed to dispensing on a paper towel and wiping things down. Saves on product and is much quicker.

Well, Christmas day and we have Tornados going on......in my liquid culture jars. ;-)
The magnetic stirrer is very helpful, it really breaks that stuff up and keeps the liquid from hitting the lid and air exchange filter.
Now I just need to figure out why the video glitches. Maybe it's just my computer? {{sigh}}

Hi guys. So I showed the eco 3.0 to a buddy of mine that grows mushies for the farmers market. He saw problems with it. He said there will not be enough airflow inside which will lead to low count and small undersize fruit. He said system HAs to have an inline blower. Also said C.O levels should be 800-1100. Lower will lead to deformed mushies and higher small or no/little. Also said humidity should be around 85-90
Too high cause mold. He recommended a positive airflow system. Said humidity is less important then proper amount of micro water on mush outer skin. Also Only ever place fruiting cakes in the tent. Grow your myc in a dark place not in the tent ever. You all prolly already knew all this but I didn't lol.
