I'm not rolling out the red carpet yet. One of the things about using birdseed is that so many of those seeds can look like tiny mushroom caps peeking through that mycelium.
I am watching and waiting......again.

yeah......I think it's those seeds. Same color as mushroom caps, and it's only been 7 or 8 days since that was mixed up into substrate. If I remember right, it takes a couple weeks.Fingers crossed

Soooooooo true!!!! I always fish out the big black seeds for the most part. I like being left with mostly millet. I mainly just use oats. Got a 50 pound bag and have been tearing it up for over a year. It's always hurry up and wait with the mushies isn't it!?!?Thanks @Scottay

My Blue Meanie substrate is in the Hyphal Knot phase. (tiny little white balls all over the surface of the mycelium) 
I should be seeing some signs of shrooms very soon now!
I should have some photos and updates on the rest of the tubs later today.

Here is the Blue Meanie tub today. I believe it's at around day 10 or 11 now.
The last pic is one of the samples I took from the Portobello mushroom a couple weeks ago (or around that. LOL) I just haven't had the time to get that into new agar yet. I think it looks okay.

Well, I'm a pretty good swimmer.....so I should be able to "tread" mushrooms.

Well now......I have been digging deep to find a cheer up today because for one thing....it's snowing. Akky Cacca!
