Lady Bud's 1st 420 Grow - Delicious Seeds Cotton Candy

Hey King, it's called foxtailing coz they look like fox tails I guess :) There's absolutely nothing you can do about it if it's a genetic thing. Check for light leaks but I'd guess it's genetics. All it is, is the plant shitting itself because it's not been pollinated so it throws out more bud in an attempt to catch some pollen. The upside is you get bigger buds, the downside is they're pig ugly, they're a pain in the ass to trim & they add weeks & weeks onto your flower time. :thumb:

Good morning LB, I hope you enjoyed your movie night with your award winning hubby :)

Here's my ugly biatch, she's on day 77 of flower

They look a lot like that man, buds on top of buds, haha. It's supper sticky and smells good! If it looks funky or goofy on those few buds I'm pretty sure I'll find a use for them! The rest of it looks beautiful tho! How long are you gonna let that one go? Btw what kind is yours?

Thank you for bringing up the light leak thing again, I have a feeling that was what did it. I had forgot when I did a heavy duty cleaning about a week ago and didn't tie up the hole for cords tight. There was a small leak there, not big, but probably just barely big enough for me to not notice and just hit the tallest parts of the plant, to stress and confuse them. It was in that corner where she sat and only on a few buds, the 4 or 5 top one's. Also right around the same time as the mystery problem started. Now I feel like an idiot for ruining such a beautiful looking bud!! :( But I learned a valuable lesson, always double check and don't rush...I coulda blamed my short term memory...but I know I'm forgetful and I'm not gonna be letting that happen again. Anyways, seriously appreciate the input and help for everyone!

Kingsup2 the cause of the new growth on on plants on your buds may either be environmental of genetic reasons. The new growth may either be from a light leak as the buds resemble cuttings that I have rooted as clones that grow single bladed leaved in flower and re vegetate for several weeks before changing growth. I would leave the new growth on your buds and ensure your plants environment has no light leaks and temperature and humidity levels are optimal.

You want 70°-90° Fahrenheit and 50%-70% humidity for vegetative growth and 30%-50% humidity for flower.

You want pH 5.8 for hydroponic and soiless (peat moss and coco coir) and pH 6.5 for soil.

Hey KingJohn, thank you much for the input...My temps have been pretty consistent, usually it's around 72-78F at night it'll get down to 62 or so is about the usual low. The last week there has been a couple times it got to around 84F but nothing higher. And RH is usually 40-60% I'm not doing hydro and the ph is around 6.4 So hopefully it was that cord hole that I didn't have tied tight. I left them on except for about 3 I cut off of one bud. And it's totally how you described it, single leaf little baby flowers coming up. I'm gonna leave the rest...but do I wait for them to mature and bloom more? It's a few days into week 9 of flower...so just let em go and harvest when the rest of it's ready, or wait?? Thanks again for the input bud!

The new growth on your buds should not interfere with the buds continuing to flower. I would leave the new growth and hope it builds some density and trichomes. How many weeks to flower does your cannabis strain require?

It says 9 to 10 weeks, and I'm getting towards the end of week 9. They're lil flower looking tops, I cut a couple off to get a better look. they're super sticky and smelly, so that's good! I looked at the trichomes and on the new growth they're about 1/2 clear & 1/2 cloudy. I'll keep checking on them this next week and hopefully she'll be ready soon...Another plant has dibs on that that spot and is getting anxious!

I harvest my cannabis plants by trichome maturity. You need a 30x jewelers loupe to see the trichomes and judge when to harvest. Most people harvest from 5%-30% amber trichomes. Harvest at 5%-15% amber trichomes for a "head high" energetic effect and harvest at 30%-50% amber trichomes for a "body stone" sedative effect strain dependent. I own a Hydrofarm Active Eye 30X jewelers Loupe, Carson Optical MicroMax LED Microscope 60x-100x and a 25X-200X Magnifier USB Digital Microscope Video Camera that I use to take trichome photographs.
