KJ's T5/CFL 1st Time Grow

Hello "Ontariogrow" i use 50% as my medium. More is a plus less is a drag. Depends on how fast it dries and how it is trimmed, etc. R u using like a cigar humidor for u'r bud. It all factors into what outcome you seek.keepin moist adds weight. dryin out well that's self explanatory.(not good)

As far as wet vs dry, I've heard the 25% number thrown around. if you think of how much water weighs, it's clear it'll be a lot of the plant.

One the topic of guessing the yield, I'm think like this:

If you had 10 pictures of 6' tall men that all weighed 200 lbs and 10 pictures of 6' tall men than all weighed 180 and so on...

You could look at the pictures and have a guess. Some men will have smaller waists others will have thicker legs, others wider shoulders... But you'd have an idea of what a 6' 200lb man looks like.

Same with a plants. You could have 10 1/2 lb plants, some bushy, other lanky... same with 1lb plants...

Maybe even take a count of the 'prime' sites and a pic of the completed trim down.

Point: I don't have to weigh your pickup to guess it's weight. I'd guess 4K lbs for a full size and 5K for a 1ton truck. This is just based on what other trucks weigh.

Not perfect, but lets face it, guessing yield is NOT going to be perfect.

Hey goat - my plan was to keep it in mason jars after the drying and 'curing' (which i still don't fully understand). How do you keep it from drying out in mason jars when you are constantly dipping in to get your meds?

Cheers! thanks again to all for feedback and help!

Someone suggested the 82% RH packets to keep things at the right RH.

Or, you could just put the lid back on the jar....LOL...you guys!....LOL. Once it's dry to the correct Rh, it's gonna stay that way for a long time. I never have a problem, with SINGLE DIGIT Rh the norm! I put it in the jar when it's not completely dry, my weed burns perfect, IMHO, weed that will grind is dry!

Hey mclodie was the technology for what we do the same 20 years ago,10 even I think not. Meanin if we do not adapt to whats coming we will get left behind. You would be amazed how much we say that we resist it or do not want it.then doctor phil goes on tv and we think it is the best idea since sliced bread. feel me, Improvise or die that is what alll living things are presented with even the Bi-pedals (us). I use jars also just throwin out ideas for the masses . If we were all doin it right we would be doin it how the redskins did it. As I said evolution happens whether we acknowledge or pay attention or not.My experience in life is that sometimes peoples humongous egos block their eye sight and apparently compress their eustachian tubes. i'm just sayin if there was only currieed goat to eat at fast food restaurants we probably would find different ways to cook somethin else or not some people like goat. I DO BUT NOT CURRIED. how is the view from up there while you are lookin down on the rest of us lowly folks?

???????? You have obviously misunderstood my statements.......do you even know me? If you or anyone else stores weed at 85% Rh.....it's toast? Any statements I make I can back up....ego? I slaved my ass off to learn what I know and I'm not gonna hide it, I'm gonna wave it like a flag.....I earned it and I maxed it out. All my life I've given my best to help others and share what I know. I never give bad advice, and I won't agree with something someone might run with and cause them grief.....if that's the ego you're talkin about ....then yes...I've got one! Oh...GOOD WEED to you my friend! From what I see humanity is not going forward.....we as a people allow the killing of unborn children, have a government that is determined to destroy freedom, we jail people for harmless actions....you wanna evolve...go ahead......I have lived in much more p
leasant times. Only lies call for evolution, we have known far more than we purport to know now. There is no new thing under the sun....a duck is a duck is a duck, look at what we're dealing with recently, are these people crazy, or are they desperate for change and to be heard, but do not posess the faculties to express themselves in a positive manner? It is obvious that our EVOLUTION is DEVOLUTION.

Ok, well we got a bit side tracked :D

NP, I enjoy a break from the topics from time to time. I just hope everyone can express themselves without anyone getting too personal.

I also enjoy a good political conversation, I've actually learned to live with those that don't agree with me.

After all, we're all here to learn and teach.

Update on the grows:
1st grow buds are getting a lot more of the 'bumbs' and it's making them thicker, didn't expect these bump outs, but the buds are clearly getting thicker.

The taller ones don't look like the main bud sites will blend like the shorter plants did. I think the spacing is too far apart.

The 2nd grow is now 24" tall and I'm already having space issues.

I ordered 2 more 600W HPS lights. Same as the other lights, so now I'll have 4 X 600 lighting. That should work well for the 2nd grow, it's 26 plants and I think it'll fill the whole room.

Don't know how I'll do the wiring, I'm pretty sure I'll have to run a separate line from a different breaker to handle the new load.

Also, the 2nd grow is almost ready for clones for the 3rd grow. I wanted to take clones already, but the branches just weren't that long. From what I've seen so far, the longer the branches, the taller the clones, and the taller the plants. Could be wrong, but that seems to be the case so far.

Since we already broke off topic, I rode the new-to-me motorcycle yesterday. That beast has some power! Still have to get used to everything, but so far I really like it.

I usually start off slow and get used to it, this is a big change, radial tires, lighter weight, much more mid-range torque. I think she'll be a blast!

YEY!...New bike, if it's new ta you it's new! That brings back alotta memories of the first time I gotta ride a new bike, I only ever had 2 that were actually new, but they were all new to me! I rode em all hard! Good for you! At some point in our life we gotta get personal karl, if I don't live for what my bros and fam died for....what am I?

Last bike was over 20 years older than this one (84 vs 06) and had about the same miles, but it really started go south. One problem after another. Shift fork, clutch, carbs, dropped a valve, now it has flooding and oil leak. I got tired of wrenching and wanted to get back to riding. Over the years I've grown a bit tired of wrenching.

Karl, when I was on the street I used to ride em til they quit and there was another waitin to be abused. I have this terrible recurring dream where I get a bad ass bike, ride just a short way and it quits, I always get pissed, shove it over and start walkin. The funny thing is I've never been left with a bike I couldn't limp home with or somethin. Got a flat a hundred miles from home base one time, what to do?, just wait, ten minutes later here they come, bike in truck, week long party.....yeeeeehooooooo! Never seen em before or since, but I always stop and help if I can. Be careful karl...thats all.

Ok, here's the update pics. The 1st grow is showing a lot of amber hairs but I can't seem to find any amber trichs. The 2nd grow is about 24" tall now and the center ones are getting very bushy. They have the CO2 supply for the past few days and really seem to like it.

Several have started leaning and I had to prop them up, some seemed very weak, like they wanted to break at the start of the roots, so I gently tied them with supports and I'll let them go for a few days and see if they gain strength.

The taller plants in the 1st grow are starting to thicken up the buds now and the 'frost' is starting to show. At this rate, they seem to be about 2 weeks behind the shorter plants.

The part that I'm pointing at is new as of about 2 days ago. Most of the upper sites are getting these bumps, and it's making the buds look very thick.

If anyone is seeing amber trichs that I'm not seeing, let me know. I really would hate to miss the target harvest date.

Anyone know what the target range is? maybe 5 days? I'm shooting for max amber / max strength.

You're clear/cloudy karl, those bumps are growth spurts, in my experience she will put these:thumb: out, then fill the buds in around em. Those, or that plant, plants are performing what I call a push, they are trying to finish. Just let em grow, I've seen the weight double in just a few days when this happens. I believe that's a sativa trait, I'm gonna document finishing my mexikush practice plant, It's right at the same point as yours. She may put out what I call nipples, those little alien lookin formations of bud material will protrude way out from the main body of he bud. LOL, I'm glad to see all these wonderful things happening to your plants, it is gving you tremendous insight to the progression to ripeness. +reps karl
