Keffka's Stonington Soil, Bag Seed, 2022 Setup Indoor Grow

Todays images.. she’s exploding with growth all over the place.. the first thing I noticed this morning was the intensely bright growth tips.. I was having a slight issue with the serration again which was resolved by bringing my VPD in line by boosting my RH. She has started to bush out sideways even more and has started her ascent.

I had already put her into flower before the VPD conversations began, so it was too late to turn back, however I am already benefiting from it and look forward to using the knowledge to its fullest from sprout.

Keffka have you given any thought into curing your harvest? I use the basic technique you see everywhere of hanging until dryish then sweating in tubs til it can be stored in jars and it seems to work but i know some also make an art out of it. Are you planning anything nifty?
I planned on doing the majority of my cure the boring way as well lol. I am extremely interested in this though: Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis so I will definitely be looking more into that as this is quite fascinating

I agree. I was secretly hoping you maybe had something really cool planned but the common way definitely protects your bounty. Im chicken to gamble a crop on a trial.
Lol I say the boring way but it’s very rare that my plans ever work out as intended so we’ll see.. If my yield is decent I’ll do the cob method, it takes 1.5-2 ozs from what I’ve read so far so nothing that will destroy me, and it’ll be worth it if it makes that much of a difference.

The curing part like you said can become an art form, so I wanted to get closer to harvest before I really dug into the reading about it because I already know it’s gonna be another rabbit hole lol.

They really are coming around! Sweet😎
Thanks! I’ve got the basic ideas down enough that I shouldn’t kill it lol. I spent a lot of time reading before I went forward, however because of how I learn, I could only read so much. At a certain point I need to be able to put my hands on it and see it with my own eyes and mind to be able to continue learning.

I will have to look up cob curing, I have never ventured into curing other than the old fashioned way.
I’ve done curing before.. helped my MIL last year with hers, however I’m fairly certain we screwed something up.. the quality was good and it all burned well, however almost all of it wasn’t very tasty.. it didn’t taste bad, but every strain tasted kind of earthy with no real taste beyond that.. did the job though, but like I told my wife, I’m not interested in just getting a harvest, I’m interested in trying to get the best quality harvest, followed by quantity. That’s a big part of doing the journal too.. get way more experienced eyes on it, and listen to what they have to say.. I.e. our VPD conversation.

Seeing how your plants are already flipped to flower mode here is something to keep your eye on and although its vpd related really its a watering thing. Watering is a contentious issue. Everyone waters differently but everyone agrees that overwatering is bad. I can tell by your pics that your plants are likely still on the wet side. Your light and soil look solid so its likely not a nute issue. So, once vpd is achieved more or less and its relatively stable and in the ballpark the easiest way to control it is by adjusting rh. Its easier than moving the light and more stable than trying to raise the room temp. So by how wet you keep your pots you are affecting the rh value in your vpd formula. When after a few days you just cant keep humidity up to the desired level, its time to water your plants. Before that there relevant wetness to their environment ratio was above that of a dry plant. It tells you when to water.

I was actually surprised, they looked wet to me the day after watering, but when I picked it up it was light as a feather lol. I don’t water to runoff or to complete saturation trying with the living soil but every 3 days they get approx 1/2 gallon each right now. I just make sure they are a moist so the soil can thrive.

Ok thats great news! keep them a bit on the dryer side so they can breathe and watch the new growth. If it starts to relax and lose its twisted look and the chlorosis isnt starting then you nailed it. It should really start to shine and if its rolling solidly by the time stretch is over you will get a really nice harvest possibly with minimal penalty for the rough ride in the early days.

Lol sometimes you gotta dive into the rabbit hole 😁

And it's decarbed by the process so one can eat it too!
I never thought about the decarb factor. Thats a great bonus. Myself I find that decarbed weed gets me higher when I smoke it than non- decarbed. I know that doesnt really make sense as burning a joint is decarbing but nevertheless thats my experience. Who doesnt like free potency!
