Basically the gist of it is, there’s a ton of bacteria on and in the seeds. Generations of resistances, viruses, yield, quality, etc. stored in the seeds. When we sprout the seed anywhere other than in the medium we lose that bacteria.
The sprouting method that cannabis growers have become enamored with is a misunderstanding of farmer methods. I agree to a certain extent. There’s a lot of things that aren’t broken, but could certainly be better or more efficient. However, when it comes to growing, I only ever recommend making 1 or 2 major changes to your method at any time. For instance if you’re growing a new strain for the first time, it’s not the time to be switching up your tested methods until you’ve got your strain understood.
If you think about it in nature the seed falls from the plant and rains water it then a weed sprouts. CL

Right. Let's try to maintain some perspective here. We are talking about unfairly rigging a weed photo contest. Not cancer. Definitely not cancer.
That's why it's okay to look the other way and let this harmless form of social injustice fester out in the open for the entire world to see. Like stumbling across a dark, smelly stain on the sidewalk on an otherwise wonderful day.

Yep which is why I just brought it here to my journal to vent instead of screeching about it in the other forums or demanding concessions from the staff.
Hypocrisy triggers tf out of me every time. I haven’t been able to nail down the definitive reasons for this but it’s likely from being raised by parents whose motto was “Do as I say not as I do”. So even the slightest hint of it seems to really irk me deep.

I'd be very interested to read the screeches in other threads. If you can fake having a meltdown, that would be even better. This type of social injustice needs to be called out and dealt with before the whole system breaks down.

Flower is going well.. Water consumption has just become obnoxious. We’re up to a half gallon per day on the large plants and a quart for the shorter ones. The tallest plant is 13 inches from the light at its top. Putting it at 48 inches in a 3 gallon pot. Once it’s at 11 inches from the light I will super crop it, so likely within the next day or two.

Get over it dude, I posted that there for one day to welcome back an old high profile member, nothing more.I HIGHLY disagree with this right here. Advertising a specific grow journal in the space where contests and site announcements go is a supreme disadvantage for the rest of the growers on this site and is disingenuous at best. This person has just been given free advertising for their journal that no one else gets. The OP themselves said they have an interest in winning contests themselves in the post.
This seems like the site is playing favorites. If this journal that’s advertised gets nominated and wins one of the contests it will shatter the image of impartiality and fairness. No amount of open voting can offset being given a clear advantage no one else gets
