Jon's First Outdoor Grow: Sugar Breath Photoperiod & Strawberry Banana Autoflower

Nice report Jon! I really want to try this. Unfortunately NASC has been out of the SB auto for over a month, but you can sign up to be notified when it's available. Hopefully soon. That's the only place I've found it that will both take my card and ship to the US,

Wake 'n bake used to be my favorite high, but I can't do it anymore unless I take a nap. Now I try not to start until noon, otherwise I'm really dragging once dinner time rolls around. Not sure if it's because I'm getting older or the weed is getting stronger, probably a combo of the 2.
Thanks BK! Yeah I wouldn't exactly call what I do wake and bake. More like, wake, dress/wash up, take Molly for long walk around the block, feed Molly, make a pot of coffee, check on the plant and do whatever needs done, THEN smoke. I'm up and active for a good while first. Back in the olden days (lol), when we used to rEAllY do wake n bakes (bong on the table next to your bed, frisbee in the drawer, you know...), we were younger men. But in theory we are now becoming wiser men. Think Robert Duvall and Sean Penn and the going down the hill slowly instead of rushing in and screwing ALL the sheep story. Heh.

There are all kinds of banks that make a version of this. I don't know that the 420FB one is the best, just what I got from it. I do like that it's more balanced than the others out there. And the consistency across the plants was remarkable. Great trichome production, and I'll say would have been great yield...just a real solid strain. The taste seals the deal for me. You'll find it when it's ready to find you.

Hey Mucker hope everything is good with you.
I'm missing the coco girls.
Did you get that 5 ton uhaul to move all your amazing pot?
Or are you going to Cheech and Chong it and build a van from all the pot.
Hehe, remember that rolling paper in the album.
Omg thats a story ;)
Good work as usual my friend.Nice report. :thumb:

Thank you @Bill284. I won't even go any further than to say that for the moment, as I have a special thing planned for you when the time is right. Don't worry, I'll lie and make you look good. Lol. And funny you respond as you did, because I'm about to post a little bud porn specifically about the coco girls now that they're all jarred. I think you'll dig it and it'll feed your jones for the coco girls.

In the meantime, it's decision making time. I'm ready to prep pots and pop seeds. Here's the final two I have narrowed it down to:

2 Blueberry Cupcake (Blueberry Muffin X Wedding Cake) in 7s of coco
Humboldt Seed Company genetics, feminized photo
Prescription Blend nutes

*or*

1 Fruity Pebbles Cookies (Fruity Pebbles OG X Mandarin Cookies) in 7 of coco
1 Mandarin Zkittlez (California Black Roze X Mandarin Sunset) in 7 of coco
Ethos genetics, feminized photo
Prescription Blend nutes

It's super dependable, world class genetics involving a parent I've grown before and with otherworldly high thc (28-34%), versus never before tried, and supposedly world class genetics, also plenty high thc, with a Mandarin commonality. Both are extremely appealing to me, but I'm leaning towards trying out the Ethos for the first time. I paid enough for them, I may as well grow them. Lmao.

What do you think? It's tough for me to pick against thc levels that high and a Blueberry Muffin mom, I'll tell you that.

Ok @Bill284, I'm here to feed your jones for the coco girls.

After seeing the pics I decided if I show you all three at once it'll overwhelm your sensory inputs, so I'm breaking it down into a deepish dive one coco girl at a time.

We'll begin with Coco Blueberry. This is the finished product, jarred, and stable for a couple days now. I'm showing you the 2.2 ounce jar of the prize winners, the other jar is 2 ounces of the smaller buds. 4.2 jarred. All things considered, I'll take that any day. And a couple days' worth of small, non-trimmed buds left too.

So here's Bill's pile of Blueberry and some closeups. I think he did a lovely job. :adore: Sensei. Thank you.

Well I love Blueberry and Stacey just did a review on Wedding Cake of all things.
It was so smooth I really enjoyed it.
So I imagine Blueberry Cake would be my pick.
But unfortunately I'm not going to be able to enjoy it with you. ;)
I m picking option A then.
Do you have the bokashi and frass mixed in the coco alreadyto go , or are you going to do it as you pot them.
It's in my Gorilla Glue thread.
Omg I'm in tears laughing about that.
I can't wait.

Blueberry is my favorite, it's the only one that gives me the giggles.
They look better than the dispensary buds we get here. :green_heart:
You do very nice work my friend neat clean tight just lovely buds.:bravo:
I found a Mason jar with Gorilla Glue in it the other day. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Kicks like a hoarse.:bong:
Helps me relax, I need it today
I know your a seed/genetics fan but maby when you move do you ever think about running clones.
You run 24 / 7 / 365 as it is.
As soon as I harvested I'd have 8-10 two month old girls ready to go in.
Any room for a veg tent in the new digs?

Ha. Well I hear you on the clones, and honestly, I have among the best lines on clones that exists for the US I think. My Oregon Yoda's best friend is the owner of Dark Heart Nurseries. (Their strain menu and descriptions are absolutely INSANE and will make anyone drool all over themselves - no surprise that they stock clones and teens of several Humboldt strains). Look them up. This is his clone source. He'll send me whatever I want from their catalog. Just not worth asking him to go through the hassle until I can grow several at a time, have a dedicated mother plant and veg spot, etc, etc, just like you suggest. I'll have (in theory) as much room as I need for whatever I want in PA. So using clones IS on my list, just longer term for the moment.

Glad you approve of the Blueberry. Thanks for the kind words. And I goddamn BETTER beat your horrid dispensary weed, oy! Later on I'll do something similar with the Strawberry Lemonade and the Dos Si Dos. You may like them too. Lmao. Since I have yet to touch or distribute to friends any of the Strawberry Lemonade, I'll be able to post an actual yield report too. She did well - two full big jars and another full next size jar plus a bunch of non-trim smallies to smoke. Most I have gotten from a photo in my career from the looks of it. Career. Lol.

Get some rest and feel better. I'll head's up you again on your Strawberry Lemonade before 7:00 pm when you go to bed.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I vote option 2 for new varieties in the storage van! Especially since I am growing another Satsuma tree, which is a type of Mandarin.
:thumb:
Thanks Shed! Including mine that's two votes for option #2. I gotta see how these plants are supposed to grow. Maybe I could do three in 5s and toss in a Blueberry Cupcake too....And I agree - my need for always new strains is large and insatiable.

Ok, @Bill284, I'm a man of my word...

Here's a similar montage of the Coco Strawberry Lemonade as promised, already one of my favorite plants ever. I think you'll like this one. I can tell you already that this weed is noticeably higher thc than the Blueberry, and the Blueberry is no joke. That's all I can tell you for now, except that she's not a bad looking chick. I'd go there.

Here you go, your second coco plant to harvest in my tent. The Strawberry Lemonade by Barney's Farm. :adore: This is the star of the coco show in my opinion, and it's not close.

Jeez Bill, appreciate it and all, but it ain't all that. Nice buds though for sure, and boy oh boy do they ever stink HARD. I'll give it a few days before I weigh it, but there's a lot, too. Very productive plant.

Damn, you had to ask me that. Lmao. I'm still researching some things to aid in the decision, I'll get back to you. Whichever it is, the seeds hit the water tonight.

Either way, @Bill284, here's a question for you:

How fast will the Dixie Cup fill up and be ready for transplant in coco? I started the seeds in the 3s this first time, so have yet to up pot coco. But they sure sprouted up quickly in the 3s, I can't see them lasting even three weeks in a Dixie Cup, right? I have some one and two gallon pots. Should I go 1 > 5/7 or Dixie > 2 > 5/7 (I like the second one better), or something else? Obviously all starter pots will be prepped identically to the finish pots.

You can fill a Dixie cup in a couple weeks.
Then 1 -2 gal.
Then into a seven is pretty good for building roots.
That will work great.

Mystery Plant

I've got it! It had to be Mr. Green, in the topiary, with the pruning shears! Lol.

I'm becoming more convinced every day that this is a Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I remember the interior growth looking just like this on that one and her side branching beginnings looking like this. I *think* I remember the leaves looking like this as well. I highly doubt it's an auto at this point. Just isn't growing like an auto. Doesn't look like the Dos Si Dos auto as I remember it in early veg. But we'll see. The PUC is unmistakable once it begins flower. Tried to find older pics of those plants at the same point in veg, but couldn't find any to compare.

Anyway, today, daytime spot on the lennai.

Friday Afternoon Smoke Report
Hulkberry

The Hulkberry hit the jars on 12/11. Today was exactly 10 weeks of cure, so I decided it was the perfect time for the smoke report.

Facts:
Strain:
Hulkberry
Lineage: Strawberry Diesel X OG Kush (this is RQS's version of Bruce Banner #3)
Genetics: Royal Queen Seeds
THC: 28+%
S/I: 65% Sativa/35% Indica
Terpenes:
  • ~4% Linalool
  • ~1.5% Beta-Caryophyllene
  • ~1% Alpha Humulene
  • ~1% Alpha Pinene
  • ~0.5% Beta Myrcene
  • <0.01% Limonene
  • <0.01% Terpinolene
Grown In: Fox Farms soil blend (40% OF/40% HF/20% perlite #3)
Nutes: Fox Farms, the top 3 main ingredients and the bottom 3 bloom ingredients, not the middle ingredients in orange. Also CalMag plus Iron, Terpinator, blackstrap molasses, MSA (veg only)
Pot Size: 5 gallon
Conditions: One of three plants in a 5x5 under 680 watt LED
Training: Significant LST/minimal supercropping
Harvested: Flower Day 72 (60 day veg)

Impressions: This is a very well known strain, I won't spend a lot of time reiterating what many already know. Despite the name, and having seen Bruce Banner grown enough times, this plant is nothing more than BB#3, renamed by RQS to sell seeds I suppose. They even say so in their own description. Most of us are familiar with this strain. I lifted this directly from the RQS info: However, at least two other phenotypes certain to be of interest to connoisseurs have the potential to present in the grow-op. Pheno #1 is closer to a 50-50 hybrid mix of both parent strains. I believe I got this Pheno #1. I felt the entire grow she was right in between an indica and a sativa, and had pretty much equal qualities of both parents. Her growth structure said so, or at least that was my impression. Now having smoked it quite a bit, I'm convinced.

This is maybe the most balanced weed in my current arsenal. The buzz starts pure head/cerebral and after about 20 minutes morphs into a very relaxing body buzz, but not a sleepy one. Long lasting buzz that hits hard upon first inhale. Thickish, off white smoke that is super smooth (at least this is after 10 weeks of cure). The taste is complex - mine tastes earthy, that's my first impression. A bit of gas/diesel. A lot of fruit. Nothing I would describe as fruit specific, just kind of general fruitiness. This weed did not turn out as sweet as some of the others, which is a nice change from my sweet, fruity lineup. More dank than sweet. And it also has a kind of spiciness to it, although I can't pin down the spice either. Something that's a bit earthy, not sharp. For appearance see photos. This is a bud from my head stash and the actual bud smoked for the report, plus a picture of the plant itself shortly before harvest. Sort of a before and after sort of thing, kind of. Lol. For pain I found it to be average, nothing noteworthy.

Growing this plant was relatively easy, other than her buds get very dense and heavy and needed to be supported, which was a bit of a challenge given how low I had trained the plant to the top of the soil. She yielded close to 6 ounces, 5.8 was the final jarred tally - my biggest yielder of the three tent plants - and there was also plenty of flarf.

I really like the Hulkberry, but to be completely honest I probably wouldn't grow it again. It checks a lot of the boxes for me, I don't have anything negative to say about it, it just doesn't grab me like many do, and I wouldn't say it has any SUPER special qualities. It has become kind of my pedestrian, everyday, smoke it anytime weed, and it's what I smoke first in my head stash box so as to not smoke the strains I DO find special. That said, the average person off the street buying dispensary weed would probably think this pot rocks the world. Lol.

So here is the 10 week cured report bud and the plant before harvest. Hope you enjoyed the report.

Honestly Jon, you've got to have some of the best smoke reports I've seen. Your abilities to describe everything paints a perfect picture.

That doesn't even touch on the steady stream of beauty that exits your tents:adore:
