Jon's First Outdoor Grow: Sugar Breath Photoperiod & Strawberry Banana Autoflower

At least they didn't give you their info@fukoffasshole.com e-mail.

There are a ton of small businesses in my area that refer folks to their general mailbox that they never bother to check. Wonderful customer service.
Which they easily could have. Lol. I was just hoping, no big deal.

Final Scene From Trim Jail

This has been a very pleasant trim jail experience, as those go. I spaced it out nicely and never had more than a two hour consecutive session. The Blueberry is jarred and stabilized. The Strawberry Lemonade is jarred with the jar containing all the largest buds left open for now. The Dos Si Dos is almost all trimmed and in the paper bags. Green bud! Yay! I have one smallish (40ish smaller buds) basket left to trim, which I am going to sit down and get started on now. So I went looking for inspiration and energy, along with focus. A LOT of those things. Heh.

My answer: a Blueberry Gelato Moonrock. Gelato from my head stash cured over two months rolled in Blueberry kief from the recent Blueberry plant, my "up indica."

I give you the swan song from Trim Jail. By the time you see this it will no longer exist. And I'll be the highest guy in the room. Oh wait, I'm almost always the highest guy in the room. Molly doesn't smoke.

Flower Day 35

Sure wish this plant's namesake would come out of hibernation so she could see how her girl's doing. I've gathered this is one of those plants where "the terpenes are the thing." I can't believe what this plant smells like. The green apples/candy smell is unmistakable and fills the garage within seconds of opening the tent. Even my mother says it smells like apples, not just "it all smells the same to me." Lol. I've talked before about my long term search for a pot plant that truly smells and tastes like apple. Haven't found it yet, but this plant checks at least one of those two boxes. I'm pretty excited about this one. And I might argue it's the overall healthiest plant I have ever grown start to so far. PB nutes = bueno.

Here's a wake up shot on portrait setting.

I wish my moon rocks look that tasty!!!
At first I didn't think it was rolled in kief (Blueberry), probably due to being very high on my morning Sativa:blunt:
Or evening Sativa weed if engaging in stuff other than nothing.

Guessing you rolled her after the two month cure? Did you use any oils or extracts to help the kief stick?
Nonetheless I am the most envious stoner on the board.

Hi @Jon, does your lady look great and is she doing well?

Hi FR - I roll them as I smoke them. That was freshly rolled right before I took the photo. And all I do is trim down a bud so it's the right size to fill my bong perfectly, usually roundish, and then roll it in one of my jars of kief. Nothing more exotic than that, but it works! In this case I used longer term cured weed, but I did it a lot when I was trying to smoke up the Chunkadelic (only 18% weed or so) to give it some power. I try to not smoke them cuz all they do is trash my already trashed tolerance. Lol.

Hi Kanno - she's hanging in there, thanks, I'll tell her you were asking about her.

So, you gonna train it?
Lol. Just waiting on that fifth node Azi. If she continues to improve like this and stays healthy, and after it's proven she's not an auto and won't go into flower outside, I'm going to probably toss her in the 3x3 after the Apple Blossom to flower in there. I figure 10/14 would do it. Timing should work out pretty well.

Just don't go too early. Needs to be a fair test of the short but lengthening daylight hours. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Depends where you live. :laughtwo: (must be nice)

My cab temps are hovering in the mid to high 60*F's. They grow a lot slower in that environment, so at 60 days they're working on the third nodes.

Damn. I won't mention I'm on the west coast of S. Florida then, if that were where I actually lived. Lol. Sorry man....

Hey Jon! Here's my final update woohoo! I chopped the Zkittles a few days ago and trimmed it today. Super sticky, smells (to me) like candy, and of course I had to test it and it was an immediate strong high that kept me feeling great for hours. Similar to the Gelato in many ways but a much shorter plant. Having all 3 lights to itself the last 10 days, plus the 48 hrs of darkness really helped it finish strong.

Looking at it I estimated 3z dry, I ended up with just under 5 wet. I always estimate 15-20% weight loss drying so probably a little over 4 once dry. I also grew Gorilla Glue and Wedding Cake and I am really pleased with all of them. I'd say all 4 are some of the best weed I've ever smoked. So much nicer than dispensary weed.

I pushed it with 4 plants this grow, it's really a 3 plant space so that's what I'm going to do from now on. My friend and I decided to plant 2 LSD-25 autos and 1 Cream Cookies Auto, all from FastBuds Auto per your recommendation. I'm going to take one of the LSD's when it looks ready to my eye, and we'll let the 2nd go longer and hopefully see more amber. That's about as good a test as we could come up with to see if they'll be even better going longer. It's my experience that the optimal harvest window is at most 10 days, and like you I prefer 'up' weed.

Starting out back in the day I let a big crop of clones go too long and it was a waste. It still bugs me all these years later lol! I ruined Acapulco Gold, Tangerine Dream, Jack Herrer, Blue Cheese and Pineapple Express. And I was taking a break so I hadn't kept the mothers. I subsequently grew the Blue Cheese and Jack Herrer again but never have had the rest. I looked at them recently but they're all kinda low THC strains these days - back then they were as good as it got.

Have a great evening my friend!

Hey @BubbaKush909 - yay! Congratulations, man, that's awesome. Sounds like you learned a lot this grow. Yeah, ain't beating dispensary arse a nice thing? I get endless joy from that. I hope the FastBuds genetics work out well for you - like I said, I've had pretty good success with them. I have a few Mephistos and Ethos auto seeds, as well as Grower's Choice, and I've never tried any of those genetics, so I'm hoping for a new auto source I like a ton. The LSD-25 strain I hear my share about and have been curious about it, so psyched to see what you do with it!

So going with three plants, are you gonna use bigger pots?

Congrats!!!

Smoke Report
Strawberry Banana
Autoflower

It's about time to post a smoke report or two now that the initially harvested strains of this grow are beginning to be cured to the point of almost as good as it's gonna get. I decided to begin the day with my Strawberry Banana and coffee this morning, so here's my smoke report on this amazing strain.

First, the skinny, including some grow information on this particular plant:

Strain: Strawberry Banana Autoflower
Genetics: 420FastBuds
Lineage: Strawberry Bubblegum x Crocket's Banana Kush x Ruderalis
I/S: 55% indica/45% sativa (note: this is 420FB's version, others list higher indica values up to 70%)
THC: Up to 27% (Strongest auto in the world of 2021 on some lists, also among the highest yielders on others)
Flowering Time: 9-10 weeks from seed (mine harvested around Day 65)
Grown In: 5 gallon pot of Sohum living soil
Light: @NextLight 420h on 20/4 beginning to end
Training: Topping/LST

Here's what AllBud has to say about the strain:

Strawberry Banana is an indica dominant hybrid strain created by breeders at the infamous Serious Seeds farms as potent cross between the popular Strawberry Bubblegum X Crocket's Banana Kush strains. This dank bud boasts a myriad of surprisingly well-balanced indica and sativa effects. Users describe the Strawberry Banana high as one that starts with a mild head buzz and then slowly builds into an intense euphoric and uplifted cerebral head high, leaving you relaxed and focused. This is accompanied by full-body relief and a warming body buzz that leaves you slightly sedated and couch-locked with a moderate case of the munchies. Due to these potent effects, Strawberry Banana is an ideal strain for treating patients suffering from conditions such as chronic pain, stress, depression, and appetite loss. Strawberry Banana has a memorable aroma of sweet tropical strawberry and a taste of tropical strawberry with a sweet banana exhale. Sweet Banana buds have oversized fluffy popcorn-shaped bright neon green nugs that are spattered with long and twisty dark orange hairs. These nugs are caked in a thick layer of huge crystal white trichomes and sweet sticky resin.

And the rest is all subjective/opinion.

I haven't grown a million autos, but I have grown my share of different strains, probably getting close to 15-20 now, and this Strawberry Banana, quite simply, is the best weed I have ever gotten from an autoflower. It's the strongest auto I've grown by a good margin, out-highing the Cinderella Jack, my previous THC high. It actually gets me higher than several of my photo strains. It's the tastiest auto I've grown as well, along with the Gelato. Super fruity, extremely sweet, just a touch of gas, and lots of dank is the taste, and the smell is pure fruity sugar. I get a touch of strawberry, can't honestly say I get anything specifically banana in the taste or smell. Mango or cantaloupe maybe. To really release the odor I use the grinder, and it fills the room with sweetness pretty quickly. The buds are dense. Covered in trichomes. It cures up like a dream and really began to hum around the six week cured point. Now it's on fire. The appearance of the buds is gorgeous as well (see pictures, no point for me to describe), and I would say it has extreme bag appeal. Growing it was easy - I would let it get taller before starting the training next time, but it took to LST very well and each generated branch created a serious bud. They were so dense while growing I had dedicated fans for all of them. The bud structure of my plants in all four cases was almost purely indica, there were no sativa phenos in the ones I grew. Very consistent. I believe I pulled around 11 or 12 ounces of finished buds from the four I grew, but that was training them low and using smaller pots, as well as losing a bit to bud rot. This plant, imho, has the power to produce 6-8 ounce autos, and I will be growing this one again with different pot/medium soon enough. The description of the high in the AllBud verbiage above is pretty right on, I can't improve on that. I will say it works very well for my back pain, more so than several of my other strains.

I have nothing but glowing positives about this strain and if you like fruity, indica-esque, very strong weed that comes off with a more balanced a high than an indica buzz by itself, I would suggest this may be an excellent autoflower to try.

Here's some pictures that tell the story even better on many levels.

Nice report Jon! I really want to try this. Unfortunately NASC has been out of the SB auto for over a month, but you can sign up to be notified when it's available. Hopefully soon. That's the only place I've found it that will both take my card and ship to the US,

Wake 'n bake used to be my favorite high, but I can't do it anymore unless I take a nap. Now I try not to start until noon, otherwise I'm really dragging once dinner time rolls around. Not sure if it's because I'm getting older or the weed is getting stronger, probably a combo of the 2.
