Question for anyone who might have some insight....
Hopefully I'm not the only one out there who wonders about this and someone else can benefit if we get any responses.
So this is about humidity, specifically overnight humidity levels. Here's the brief skinny on the situation, and it's no biggie but I want to improve it if possible. I cannot ever leave the garage door open overnight here to take advantage of the perfect overnight temps, because it's like 95% humidity outdoors overnight. This is from about 3 am til about 7 am when it very quickly burns off as the sun comes out and becomes the standard here at this time, around 50% Rh outside. That presents no issues whatsoever, I can do whatever I want with that. What I'm concerned with is the four hours a day when the best I can do presently overnight (four hours of every day, maybe five sometimes) and early morning from wake up til around 7 am is mid 60s% Rh. This is cuz basically I have to give the plants the house Rh overnight, which the garage takes on when the main garage door is closed.
I would prefer to not have the plants ever get that high in flower, and certainly not for four or five hours a day if I can mitigate it.
But we're talking about the Apple Blossom only, and the 3x3 only. This has never been an issue in the 5x5. I have a dehumidifier. I have nowhere it the tent it'll fit and stand upright, which it has to because of the reservoir. Don't know of any low, rectangularly shaped dehumidifiers that would fit under the plant. I've tried every humanly possible combination related to the doors to the garage or house. I've tried just AC-ing the whole garage itself with all the doors closed. None of it works.
So two questions really I guess:
1. Do I really need to worry about RH overnight when the plants are not actively transpiring, or is an Rh in the 60s okay for that amount of time each day given most of it is during lights out? My instincts say I'm inviting mold and bud rot later in flower if I can't mitigate this, regardless of what time of day that Rh spike happens. I can and have pretty much maxed the fan game out.
2. Anyone have any non-dehumidifier and non-closing-doors-stuff methods in the bank for reducing humidity without the use of a dehumidifier?
If anyone has any thoughts on this I would greatly like to hear them. Thanks very much guys.
EDIT: I have also maxed out all forms of manipulating the exhaust fan in every possible combination with the other stuff I talked about. Nope. Part of the problem there is because I had to use a 6' fan/filter combo instead of a 4. Too big for a 3x3. Great in the day to mitigate humidity but not so much at night.
