Jon's First Outdoor Grow: Sugar Breath Photoperiod & Strawberry Banana Autoflower

How about a tray full of moisture absorbing pellets like they use to soak up spills in mechanic shops? Or maybe even carbon pellets like for fish tank filters. Don't even know if that would work, but if you have those humidity levels I'm guessing you have plenty of sun during the day that could dry out the pellets for another round.

Kind of the same idea of the water jugs I rotate thru during the summer months to keep temps a bit more stable in my cabinet. The water acts like a fly wheel, absorbing heat during the day and releasing it at night. Except I rotate them down to a cool basement and bring the other set up that's been cooling for 24 hours.

Yours is a good question, though.
Hmmm.....that's an interesting idea Azimuth, hadn't considered something like that. Good call. Yes the sun would easily dry them for the next night. I could just put them in there at bedtime and when they were needed maybe they would work, then just remove in the morning and put in the sun. This idea may have some potential. THANKS!!!

Hehe you legend Jon :) bet @oldmanjj was very happy to pay a visit! :)

Btw is that Mac's Ass pounder 4000 bike I see in the foreground? Hahahah (if ya get the reference you will laugh) hehe
I'm laughing! The Ass pounder part is right. Lol. When your muscles in your butt don't have the natural flex and buoyancy they used to, you basically sit on bone. A good seat is everything, pretty much. As much as I paid for this, it should have a better seat. Lol.

See? First it's life changing. Then you figure out how to improve it.

Thought about this Moon, and 12,000 btu is exactly what is needed. I don't have the coin.
What are you doing up young man? I only am cuz I woke with a jolt at 3:30. Almost opened the tent right up too. Thankfully I noticed at the last second that the light on the timer wasn't on yet!

Oh duh, you aren't in the states are you?

Tell me about it. I got into this to try save me money. So far it's all been outgoing haha. I do want the unit myself but so expensive.

Heheh I wasn't sure if you have seen always sunny in Philadelphia :)

Jees! Thankfully you were up :)

Haha exactly my friend. It's almost 9 am here. I was up at 7 :)

I'm from Philly. Of course I've seen the show. Lol. Great city btw, if you like cities, if you're ever over here, you should check it out. As far as cities go, it rocks.

Dude I fecking love Philadelphia! Shane Gillis, Tommy pope, Chris o Connor, Matt Mckuscker and big jay oakerson. Need I say more? Hehe

I actually can. Tim Butterly, Mike Rainey and McKeever.
Funny, I tend to go Mike Schmidt, Andy Reid, the band Gangstagrass (check out their song "Home" on youtube, it has two killer Philadelphia related raps in it - the band combines country and rap, it's very interesting if you don't know them), and Reggie White. Lol.

Meh sports. I'm all about the comedy hehe. I'll check them out though :)

Hey I can play comedy too, but I tend to go Mitch Hedberg type stuff. Dark funny. Carlin. Guys with something to say that are hilarious. Check out some ancient Jackie Mason sometime, he was breaking all the rules at the time.

I have a few rogues, not by much but noticeably. If they were in the center I'd do something about it. But it appears the colas wanting dominance are pretty much all in the outer ring. I tend to let them go and do their thing, as I figure their position on the outside, given the state of light with this light in a 3x3, is such that they won't (and really couldn't possibly) rob light from the lower buds. Besides, we're only talking about a couple inches, not a huge runaway. All good. You can see a couple of the rogues against the exhaust pipe especially, and one in the back at around 12 o'clock. The rest of the canopy is cooperating nicely and by now she's pretty much done with the stretch. I think. Lol. Pretty robust plant. She is also beginning to smell. I got my first faint whiff today, and guess where my brain immediately went when I smelled it? Green apples. I kid you not, it actually is beginning to smell like real live apples. Goddamn I hope this keeps up and gets intense. The whole point of growing all these apple-related hybrids is to find one that actually tastes and smells like apple. So far before this plant I'm 0-2. Must be a difficult one to pin down for the geneticists.

That's it, here she is today. She's starting to make noises like she wants a haircut soon. Soon. Not yet.

AHH. I like dark comedy too but I'm more the new guard :) I know Carlin. Mason is ok but his comedy is very dated now. I like legion of skanks hehe

She's filling the space really well. If I was you I'd start a bit of bending and snapping on the outside. It will help them support the buds later and give them more water to the top as well as bringing the canopy a bit more even. They could continue to shoot so it will give you a headstart if they do :)

Yeah? You think a bit of supercropping those rogues will improve it? Hmm....I'm hesitant to supercrop now that they're in flower. I don't know too much about it other than the basics. Is it okay to do that at this point?

Yeah I do it often. I had to do it this time I bend them down in an arc then tie to the netting. I wouldn't go too crazy but a little snap and bend shouldn't break anything if they are strong :) use your judgement to see what you think. I can't touch the plant so I can't really say 100% but I can say I did on my girls this time at week 2 to control their crazy stretching

I love it when they grow that way. Mmmm apple smell.

Tying is one thing. That I'm going to do anyway at the 21 day point when I do the three week defol. It's the supercropping I wanna avoid if possible. They aren't going any crazier than this, it's day 19. I'm sure a lot of folks do this, I know they do. I think I can accomplish my goal without any snapping or squeezing. Two days.

Yeah your right. Just give them a nice bend :) it will still help strengthen them as they fight against the bend and give you a bit more room :)

I think if you were here you'd make the same choice. The space to fill is so close to where they are now, and the walls of the tent are right there. It's more a matter of putting the colas where I want them, and pulling them down is going to happen as a matter of course in that process. We're talking about moving things a couple of inches. The two days of recovery time is not worth the strength of the bend point to me at this point, I have used MSA all through veg. They're plenty strong and mostly straight up and down. I won't have any support issues and besides, if I do the walls of the tent will function in a support capacity by default, lol. There's that back trio, a couple near the exhaust pipe, and maybe a couple on the left side. This will be my final shaping as planned, and the whole idea (well, part of it) was to get to day 21 of flower and be in a position to finish the canopy proper with minimal staking. I *think* I accomplished that, we'll see how it looks in a couple days. I am psyched with her though, and especially the PB nutes. Amazing.
