Jon's First Outdoor Grow: Sugar Breath Photoperiod & Strawberry Banana Autoflower

Hell yeah it's crazy interesting! :) I can't wait to see how they taste too! :) The first is probably the easiest pheno if I was going to do a huge crop I'd do that one as it has the buds and foliage balance perfect. Nice and open for air flow. The 2nd is probably the best if you want pure weight. The structure is really cool and keeps expanding out more knuckles and more mass. Decent frosty too. The 3rd is insanely frosty I mean like so dence with resin its insane. But the buds are like a smaller version of the first pheno. Seems like the 3rd will be the one closest to the 28% THC that the strain can reach.

All in all some nice variety's of the same strain :) they all grew the same pretty much during veg and only seen the difference after week 3 of flower. I'm really excited to taste them. The smells are amazing, certainly putting my filter to the test. Glad I went with dos-si-dos OG. I'll give dos-si-dos strains a go again in the future that's for sure. Although my next "experiment" strain will have something Banana related. I've been seeing alot of top shelf high strength banana strains recently.
I tell you what Moon, great minds must think alike. I just went through my seeds last night and totally forgot that I have 5 Tropicana Banana from Barney's Farm, all feminized photos. I think the last tent grow before I move in the Gorilla is going to be a dedicated coco grow of those, all the same strain for a change. NICE. Check that strain out - fruity, super high THC, it checks every box I like. And it appears the buds get HUGE.

Don't forget the Bokashi and Frass this time.

Btw - I have three DSDs, the outdoor autos, that I am now smoking. After curing since 12/28 (the indica pheno) and 1/6 (the two sativa phenos that took longer), in both cases the taste is similar. More pronounced and sweeter in the indica, but similar in both, ie, citrus, a bit of specifically lemon, a bit of undefined tropical fruit, some dank, OG-like taste, and an overall sweetness that rocks. I'm super happy with it although nothing close to caramel. Maybe my photo in coco will get that smell or taste to it.

Ooooo I follow Barney's very closely. They are actually the banana I've been eyeing up! Banana Punch is the one I've been looking at! Hehe great minds think alike indeed Mr Jon :) I've also been eyeing up the banana krumble from greenhouse seeds either way bananas will be ending this year hehe. Seems crazy to be planning this far ahead but I have already got my next run going. And the one after my mimosa X orange Punch will be some Runtz Punch. But after that I will be going bananas haha will be around September ISH I think.

Ooo I've definitely got the earthy citrus sweet but yeah definitely some caramel it's a back of the nose on the out breath. It's subtle but getting stronger as the girls progress and get closer to the end. It may be something to do with the lineage of the strain? It's dos-si-dos OG from original sensible seeds. I got them from Herbies of course hehe.

Flower Day 59

God I wanna take this plant so bad. She's SO close. So today I have several shots of side branches, all below the cola, from various angles. You can see how dense and productive this strain is, at least this version of it, lol. There's a trichome shot at the end which is representative of pretty much all of her. Couple more days I think. @Bill284, what do you think? I'm thinking I feed her today, like now. Then tomorrow I do the final optional FF Sledgehammer flush. Then let her dry out for a day or two. Then take her around Day 63/64. Assuming all the trichomes don't go amber in the next four days, lol, it appears they are just turning now. Sound like a plan?

Hi @Jon, the ladies look great it looks like a nice harvest

It's "Colorado ghost OG" can't seem to find the strain info but they did cross if with another few strains but I can't find the original info for it by it's self not crossed. Maybe that's where the caramel comes in. I dunno haha. The discriptions don't mention caramel but do mention cookies from the GSC lineage. Maybe that could be the caramel? I dunno hahah

Oh so DSD OG is DSD x Colorado Ghost OG? Mine is just common gutter DSD from Barney's. Lol. But yes, that officially would make it two different strains, so likely that would account for any major differences I would think.

Yeah hehe. I do love how much variety there is. It makes it so much more special when you find something you really like. It's a shame I don't have the space and setup to reveg if I find something I like. If I really like something though I am prepared to do another run with seeds in the future. I'm enjoying the whole growing from seed thing alot at the moment :)

You know what gets me hard... A canopy that you can set a ruler on! Hahah Awesome job there Jon :) about a inch between the top and bottom! :green_heart:
Once again Moon, great minds think alike. I've even considered a photo with a paper plate sitting on top to truly show a flat canopy. Right now she's *almost* flat. The inch belows may not catch up tall wise, but in a few days when the stretch is over I'll flatten it out for real. The one or two rogues are only like half an inch above the others, but I see where they want to go. Lol. Thanks!!!

So Moon, let's take this canopy and think about our 5x5 with Tropicana Bananas. I've been considering this carefully. The current coco plants - are in 3s!!!!!! And they're HUGE. Now granted, they were meant to be outdoors and were 100% untrained. But imagine any of them trained. ONE would almost be able to fill a 5x5 with a canopy very similar to this one. If I could fill the 5x5 with 2 plants that would be ideal. That way the entire support system is not dependent on one plant's stem. And in coco, with 2 plants, I'm 1000% certain I can fill the 5x5. The question then is, what size pots to use? I really would like to use 7s. But then I see what they did in 3s and 2 7s scares the crap out of me in coco in a tent. But the only other option is 5s, and that's just too small. They'll have to be in veg a while to fill the whole space, and they'll be as rootbound in 5s as these current ones are in the 3s.

So bottom line is, I'm thinking 2 plants, in coco, in 7s, and make one canopy that fills the 5x5 just as this one fills the 3x3. Tropicana Bananas.

What do you think?

Well it depends. You have alot of tops but will those tops grow into true top buds. I've had a plant have too many tops before and in the end it struggled with yield. I prefer extra plants in the space and I'll just remove branches that aren't needed. It sounds wired but you can judge of the size of the branch if it can support a bud worth your time.

So in my current 4x4 with the dos-si-dos I have 4 plants. But total of 40 ISH tops. ( I counted haha) but because I've only allowed "strong" tops I've got a hell of alot of top buds which look more like a top bud from a untopped plant if that makes sense.

In my next run under the FC8000 I'm doing 4 Mimosa X Orange Punch in 7 gallon cloth pots as their final home. Of course I planted 5 and all 5 germinated and are healthy so I'll be throwing that somewhere lol.

Anyway I don't doubt your skills at all. So it's all on what you think you can fill the space with. If you where to use a 10 gallon you would be running a 8 week veg? But would defo fill the space. Im probably not the best person to advise as I go extra plants and cut off branches which some people would kill to keep haha. I'm quite fussy with what I consider canopy worthy. Its as important that height and also a branch that is as thick as a main to be able to hold its own weight. I use netting to spread out not to hold weight. I super crop too so the tops are supported by a strong base.

Morning Jon and I see moody here too sorry afternoon lmao
I had to read this many times. Then meditate and partake in many philosophical and theological discussions. Finally I realised you mean Moony not moody is here... Hahaha. Hey 7Dust2! Lol

I may have been a bit of a naughty Moony lol. I was actually suspended for a week and only got back today! I have messaged teddy to get both my journals unlocked. I've got pictures of both grows and the new seeds all doing awesome to show everyone.

It was basically all about me posting videos and not being very patient about my links etc being deleted. I wasnt sleeping and acted like a dick. No excuse but was the reason.

Gonna be a good boy from now on. Although I did enjoy @Teddy Edwards taking charge and whipping me into line! Hahahaha :)

You and I do many things alike and think the same on training in many ways. You're every bit as good of a person to ask as anyone else here. You have skills, man. So I tend to agree with you and have never before attempted to fill a 5x5 with only two plants for exactly the reasons you say. But when I did four plants in soil in 5s on my scrog that went hermie, it was WAY too much. Maybe three in fives is the sweet spot. Cuz I agree. You can see I took a more "moony" approach on this Apple Blossom, as compared to my last tent harvest plants. Fewer (but still tons) bud sites that are way better spread out, have way more stem under them, and are taller all around.
