Jon's First Outdoor Grow: Sugar Breath Photoperiod & Strawberry Banana Autoflower

Thanks to @Jon, excellent in taste and very strong, even that taste is so dense and slightly fruity. The yield of net was about 450g and 140g cut on some hash or would you recommend something else from that cut? Now I have thrown six Critical seeds from royal Queen seads. And I have one more question, how do you clean the tent and equipment after the harvest? Thanks
That sounds great man, nice work. I guess by cut you are referring to the flarfy stuff? The non-good-bud stuff that still has trichomes and such? I'm not so much an extract guy, but you can do a ton of things with it, make butter, press it into oil, make bubble hash, whatever. As far as cleaning the tent - GREAT QUESTION. A lot of people don't do that. I consider it absolutely, 100%, under no circumstances do you not do it, essential. I guess there's any number of ways to do it. I use a 10% hydrogen peroxide and warm water wipe. I basically wash all the silver surfaces with that, including the ceiling if I have a helper. I haven't gone as far as taking down the filter and fan to wash them off, but some do that too. After that I follow it with a warm water and lemon juice wipe, then a clean water wipe and let it dry. You want to mitigate any residual pollen and/or mold that may reside in the tent, or I guess any rogue virusy stuff that might be floating around. One thing I ALWAYS do also is clean off my light. You'd be very surprised how much gunk collects on the business side of your lights in the course of a grow, and if you don't clean it off your ppfd numbers over time can be affected. When I took down my blurples a while back, the glass plates covering the lights was so dirty it just HAD to affect the light coming through it.

Hope that helps. Nice job on your grow. Might we get an actual grow journal on your Critical?

Thanks for the advice @Jon, I've been thinking about starting it but I don't know how to do it? And it's not legal here, so I'd like to stay safe if you understand me and what do you make with those cuttings and scraps?

No problem Kanno. Only thing I do with that stuff is make butter. That's after it all goes into the Trim Bin and gets kiefed first. I love kief, and the Trim Bin is the easiest, simplest way to get an appreciable amount of it from the flarf that I've found. You just move the dried crap over a screen and it all collects in the under tray. So easy, and I get tons and tons of kief that way. After that it goes into storage until I either give it away or make butter with it.

Blueberry Buds Continued

Ok, so now that I can once again get at eye level to the colas, here's a couple pics of some of the top buds. Both of these pictures are the same bud pretty much. The first picture shows what would have been the lowest little outstem at the base of the cola if I had not pulled it over. This branch may or may not have become part of the cola, that's the kind of branch it was. When I pulled the colas over 90 degrees, this one grew up and became a whole giant bud to itself. The rest of the cola is the second picture, and it was apparently very confused by the bend over, lol. I mean, look at that thing. Doesn't know if it's supposed to grow up or over or foxtail out or what the hell is going on. But she sure is colorful. Anyway, good to be back in wheelie business.

Morning @Bill284, hope this morning finds you well. So I was thinking I might take the Blueberry at the end of her day today. Her trichs are about 5-10% amber, everything else is white, and the buds look pretty mature to my eye. You've seen them enough, and I believe you've grown Blueberry before as well, yes? So what do your eyes say? Can I take her tonight or should I wait a few more days? She's already on the indica side, so I wanted to not get too amber-y. What do you think?

Good morning Mucker, I'm good thanks hope you are well today.
I agree with your determination.
No white pistols left, everything is crinkled and red.
So she is finished building for you.
If your happy with the tric's?
Anytime your ready to put her into darkness. :thumb:
Great work my friend.
Congrats.

Stay safe
Bill

Yeah, we're not going to be able to do the dark thing unfortunately. I have no possible way to get this plant as it is from the tent to the nearest dark closet. Even if I was walking it would be impossible. So it's a standard harvest, trim the fans, and hang her up in the drying closet. Best I can do this time. It'll be alright. Even without a maybe shower of trichomes from the darkness maybe not, she's plenty trichome-y. The undersides of the sugar leaves are incredibly dense with them.

Cool. I'll reassess at around 5 and go from there. Thanks!!!!

Hey so it's feeding time for the girls. Assuming the BB comes down tonight, should I not water her today? Let her dry out? Or just feed til the bitter end? Lol.

Oh man the pre chop stress is killing me!
Lol! No stress here SO, I assure you. It's just Bill's grow, not mine. I'm just tending to it for him. So I ask to make sure he approves of my assessments. I wouldn't want to mess up his harvest.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I personally don't water if I'm chopping. ;)

I'm agonizing over my Dosi. She could go today but it's just too soon in mid 40's of days from flip and the seeds aren't quite ripe yet.
?? Seeds? One of your DSDs is seedy? I thought you had two and they were both fine?

Hi @Jon, if I want to start a diary, how do I do it, is the site safe so nothing can happen to me? Or who should I ask.
Hi Kanno, sorry, I missed this question the other day. You go to the top of the page and go to Grow, then drop down and select Grow Journals, then select Journals in Progress, then select start a new thread. Give it a title that reflects some element of the grow so everyone has a ready reference point...most folks put something in there with the strains they're growing or the medium type or whatever, you see enough. Then maybe begin with a facts on the grow thing if you like, ie, what size pots, what strain, what medium, what tent, what light, etc. Lots of folks start them that way. And then you're off! It's a highly personal thing, and it's your journal, so you set the rules there - for example, my only "rule" is to treat people with respect in my space. Obviously not rules, just saying do what you like, it's yours. Pictures are good though. And by doing a journal you'll automatically be posting often enough that you can enter the contests and stuff if you like, if you don't already. As far as is the site safe, I believe it is. There's a good list/primer/information post on how to do grow journals from the moderators too that you might be well served to read - it will answer many of your questions.

Lemme know if that answers you adequately?

Blueberry
HARVEST
Day 56 Flower

Well @Bill284, we're a third of the way home. So far so good. No bud rot. No mold, no mildew. No seeds. Looks like a decent yield. Blueberry went about as perfect as could be. No issues with her start to finish. First ever coco plant now harvested!!!!!

So we got exactly 8 weeks to the day of flower out of her. Specs said 8-10 weeks, so at least we're in the ballpark at the early end. We'll see soon enough if I plucked her at the right time. There are some absolutely ridiculous buds now that I've seen them all up close.

Close to an almost perfect 100 day grow. One down, two to go. Then we can clean the tent and start anew!

Here's some pics of her skeleton and a couple ridiculous buds, one trimmed to dry, one not trimmed to dry yet. The bud shots are two different buds.

And now I am going to smoke a very large bowl of Blueberry scissor hash.
