HARVEST
Day 56 Flower
Well @Bill284, we're a third of the way home. So far so good. No bud rot. No mold, no mildew. No seeds. Looks like a decent yield. Blueberry went about as perfect as could be. No issues with her start to finish. First ever coco plant now harvested!!!!!
So we got exactly 8 weeks to the day of flower out of her. Specs said 8-10 weeks, so at least we're in the ballpark at the early end. We'll see soon enough if I plucked her at the right time. There are some absolutely ridiculous buds now that I've seen them all up close.
Close to an almost perfect 100 day grow. One down, two to go. Then we can clean the tent and start anew!
Here's some pics of her skeleton and a couple ridiculous buds, one trimmed to dry, one not trimmed to dry yet. The bud shots are two different buds.
And now I am going to smoke a very large bowl of Blueberry scissor hash.
I swear, Shed, you're the only person who would supply me with an actual link to make a pipe out of my stem. What a fabulous idea. Pretty sure I could figure it out without the primer (lol) but how cool. Have you ever made one from one of your stems? I mean, just for the coolness of it it would be worth it. Lol. Thanks for the congrats.on the harvest of all that frost, and that trunk looks pipeworthy to me!
I actually did notice that @Bill284, and you know what it made me think? That I should have removed the first node. The first node buds look nice, and smell nice, but have no density and will only amount to a few grams. The energy it took to grow that garbage could easily have been used by the other buds. I get it. I think.Good morning Jon.
Cute cola hehe.
Did you notice the 2nd node is twice the size of the first.
In the first pic.
Interesting.
Nice work.
Stay safe
Bill

EDIT: That said, wait til you see the first node buds on the Strawberry Lemonade. They might as well be right below the colas. A bit strain specific I think.
EDIT #2: Btw - the longer you wait to come down here and pick up your harvest, the less of it there's gonna be when you get here.
Oh gosh no, I was thinking you come down with the wife and stay until we smoke it all. That'll take us through a whole grow, and my friend, I know enough to know that you and I together in the same space for five months together growing would likely make a little noise. Sound good? I'll start prepping the guest room. The Strawberry Lemonade is shortly to be drying in there, however, not yet. As you'll see from the Cocotown post this morning, she's still getting fatter. Unbelievably. But obviously. I'm blown away by this strain.Booked my ticket this morning.
What's it like at the airport down there?
Think they will mind me putting it in my carry on?
Hehe
Stay safe
Bill

New Look Cocotown!
Flower Day 57
Well, I know two plants that are happier today than they were yesterday. Lol. Interesting how removing one plant affects the Rh in the tent. Up to now at wake up they generally were at around 60%, as they take on the house humidity for a couple hours a day unfortunately, but no big deal. Anyway, today, with only two plants instead of three, the Rh at wake up was at 47%. WAY better.
So let's go right to the pictures:
This first shot is Cocotown's new look. Dos Si Dos on the left, Strawberry Lemonade on the right.
Next we have a Strawberry Lemonade bud closeup, not quite focused enough, but enough to see that she is still fattening. I can see three spots of new growth just in this picture where she's getting fatter. I hope this goes on and on.
Then I thought it might be interesting to show branches/buds by node a little bit. These are SL bud/branches as well. So this first picture is the lowest bud on the plant. A node 1 bud/branch.
This one is a node 3 bud/branch.
And this last one is a node 5 bud/branch.
Happy Saturday!
I applied some pollen from last run to a few small buds. She's making 3 mixes. Well made, you know what happened with the nanners. One of the Wedding cakes too.?? Seeds? One of your DSDs is seedy? I thought you had two and they were both fine?
Perfection my friend! She’s absolutely beautiful!CJS Apple Blossom
Grow Day 70
Flower/Stretch Day 10
There be budlets here!! Time to get this show on the road. Tomorrow we will be starting week 6 of the @Prescription Blend nutrient chart. I have followed it to the letter, with a single addition of CalMag plus Iron only. I can't say enough about these nutes so far. The plant is as close to perfect as I've ever grown on every level. Fabulous nutes.
So here's a canopy, a zoom, and a closeup on today's developments.
So only the buds you apply the pollen to will develop seeds then? They don't spread? Or they spread if you start to see nanners and that's why you chopped it?I applied some pollen from last run to a few small buds. She's making 3 mixes. I'm extremely careful to not let a lot of pollen loose. A tiniest paintbrush at a time and no fans running and a mask for breath. Bagging the target buds and wetting the rest, then the pollen and a bag over them for two days, then wetting again when I take the bags off. There may be a few errant seeds but not enough to worry about. So only the buds you apply the pollen to will develop seeds then? They don't spread? Thanks. Very interesting. So if you applied Stankberry pollen to a Dos Si Dos bud, the seeds it made would be Stankberry x Dos Si Dos, yes? Obviously I know nothing in this realm, sorry if that's a way basic question.I'm extremely careful to not let a lot of pollen loose. We know the same. Yeah, that's the way it works. How much of each other comes to the party is the unknown magic.Thanks. Very interesting. Interesting. That must be the easiest way known to man to make a cross real fast. All you need is pollen and a bud to put it on, huh? One more question and I'll stop pestering you - obviously you do this, and have done it before. So is the success rate (not going hermie) of the cross seeds you make the same as the success rate of seeds from a seedbank? Thanks. We know the same. Yeah, that's the way it works.
