Jon's First Outdoor Grow: Sugar Breath Photoperiod & Strawberry Banana Autoflower

Good Morning, @Bill284. Well Bill, I'm shortly going to be chopping your first coco plant down. Your grow has gone well, hope I did okay for you. Seems so far so good and we're almost at the finish line. Thank you SO MUCH for turning me into a coco convert. I'm SO sold on it. It's 100% as easy as soil, just more watering. But that's made up for by the fact that once your roots are to the edge of your pot or even sooner, you never have to worry about targeted watering or any of that garbage, you just dump it on. Awesome. Huge, fast growth, makes soil look like a common gutter medium. I am curious to see if there's a discernible difference in the taste of the bud. And I will be doing a flush shortly as well, I think with the constant feeding of chemicals, even though there's already been three, a flush at the end can't hurt. There's enough Sledgehammer left for one more, and it's an optional thing on the FF chart. Thanks also for your constant help on this grow. I can't think of a single time when you even made me wait much more than 24 hours for any kind of answer to a question, and usually way sooner than that. You have been totally there for me, captaining this grow, and I truly appreciate it my friend.

So besides the thank you, I wanted to let you know that you are not the only coco convert in the house. Nope. You have also converted Molly, who now LOVES when she can get her paws on a piece of coconut off the backyard trees. This piece will be her favorite chew toy for longer than the Dos Si Dos lasts. Lol. Enjoy - I thought you'd dig this. And you'll have to let me know if and/or how I can possibly say thank you in any tangible way.

Molly is such a sweet looking girl - lotsa hugs and kisses from me to her!

Cocotown
Strawberry Lemonade
Flower Day 53

Let's look at some non-pretty-bud stuff on this plant on her final days of life. Today I got some leaf pictures, and a couple others. Nothing to say anymore about this girl, she's just gotta get done and chopped. So let's go right to the leaf porn.

These first four pictures are leaves. Very attractive, earthy colors. Everything going from dark green to purple or yellow now.

This next shot is the very lowest bud on the entire plant. She's about 8-10" off the dirt. Flarfiest of all of them.

And this last shot is a bud shot from overhead to show how sweetly the leaves go from green to full on purple. Note the leaf in the four o'clock position which is not yet purple but on it's way, while the leaves above it have turned fully. Very cool.

Enjoy.
Love the colors Jon.
Nice work my friend. :thumb:

That pic of Molly is adorable. :green_heart:
I'm so happy everything has gone well for you.
That's only because you worked your tucas off taking care of them.
Jeezy I hope I didn't make you wait long for replies, I have to sleep too.hehe
I appreciate your kind words though my friend.
You ROCK Jon. :thumb:

Bill, if I rock, then you're Jimmy Frickin' Hendrix!!

Morning Jon. Can ya smell it . Omg that smells so good. Fresh buds lmao
Morning 7Dust2. Where do you live that it's morning for you now? I notice you tend to say good morning about now, lunchtime here in Florida, USA. And man, do I wish I had smellevision for you, cuz yeah brother, this tent is one dankass place to be!! You get a lot of sweet and sour citrus smell from the Strawberry Lemonade, more lemon than strawberry to my nose, but when you put your nose right on top of a bud you smell the inner dankness - that smell I can only describe with that word. Just like it's going to be so good when it's cured. I got my fingers crossed. Plenty of time to mess it up yet. Lol.

Bill, if I rock, then you're Jimmy Frickin' Hendrix!!
I always wanted to play the guitar, just don't have the dexterity for it.
Or patients I guess.
You did all the work and are due all the credit.
Are you getting rid of all your soil now and switching to the proper
method,hehe
Coco for the win every time. :thumb:
Fantastic grows my friend, absolutely Beautiful.

You Guys Will LOVE This!!!

So I was sweeping off the driveway right outside the garage, so I don't track crap into my perfectly clean grow room floor, and I got to the edge where the driveway meets the yard. Which is exactly where my dump pile of spent soil is. And which was covered up with fresh mulch a week ago when the lawn folks came and did their monthly mulch refresh. Guess they didn't like the soil and perlite look, lol.

Anyway, I go out, and I found this!

Now, I'm no plant expert, but I have grown a few marijuana plants before, and I'm pretty sure this is marijuana.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

The question is, what in God's name is the strain? Based on knowing the soil I have dumped in that location and what plants it came from, and also which ones of those plants had a seed or two, I can narrow it down at least a little. It's got to be either:
- Sour Apple Auto
- Dos Si Dos Auto
- Ghost Train Haze Photo
If it is Sour Apple, that would mean the seed would have had to have lied dormant for months, and then suddenly sprouted. It it's DSD or GTH, it could be a seed from the recent harvest, as both of those plants had a seed or two here and there and one could potentially have gotten into the dump soil I suppose. I also tossed a handful of Pineapple Upside Down Cake seeds in that pile, but those were from the scrog that went hermie two grows ago, so the odds of it being that are even lower than it being Sour Apple.

I'm obviously just going to let it grow and see what happens. Considering I'm pretty sure this is mulch with dyes, I can scarcely believe any seedling even came up through it. Very interesting. If she lives for 35 days, we'll know, cuz if she's an auto she'll be flowering by then. If not it's a photo.

LMAO.

Lol. I actually am. I have one 1.8 cu. ft. bag of Sohum to use up and one 1.8 cu. ft. bag of Coco/perlite. I plan to use all of that on four plants for the 5x5 when this grow is done - probably 2 of those Watermelon Weddingcake Double XL autos, and two Green Crack autos, OR, use just the coco and do two photos in 7's and train them out to fill the tent. I lean that way, in which case I'll do a Mimosa EVO from Barney's Farm and an OG Kush Riserva Privada from DNA Genetics. Anyway, after the Sohum is gone, I'm done with soil unless necessary for some reason, like I get a day job and can't water every day or something. Unlikely. I'm a full convert. To bokashi and frass tea too. You da man.

I'm in US no it's not morning well kinda. It's like noon. Lmao. Morning for me tho. Lmao
LOL. I feel ya. Next time my plants go on a different schedule so I can do the same.

I hope I get to meet you and Molly some day - she looks like the perfect cuddlebug!

Hey Bill - so I was thinking about the lights in each tent - the 5x5, with a 25 square foot canopy, is getting hit with 680 watts at 100% power. So 680/25 = 27.2 watts/sq. ft. In the 3x3 we have a 9 foot square canopy and it's getting hit with 420 watts on full power, let's call it 375 watts right now as I am slightly under full power. 375/9 = 41.6 watts/sq. ft. That's a big jump in terms of wattage per square foot, and it means that, using the same ppfd numbers, the 3x3 actually has more light intensity than the 5x5. So I would expect to see a corresponding increase in yield, yes?

Does this logic hold up or no?

Absolutely.
It's basic math, btw I was away that day for math class.
If you increase your square footage with out increasing wattage correspondingly your just reducing w/sqft.
I see a @MedicGrow ez 8 1000w in a 3x5 room in my future.
What's the math on that. 66.6666666 watts/sqft. :woohoo:
Picture that with a one girl scrog , giant air pot/coco or hydro?
Hopes and dreams, we see what happens.
Are you buying another light?
