I’m not happy with the way the Pink Runtz popped. Tail doesn’t look right. So she’s out. I just dropped a Seedsmen Northern Lights auto which is bred by Greenhouse Seeds, and a Cherry Pie auto from Blimburn. The NL needs no introduction and the Cherry Pie was previously described:

Final piece of infrastructure for the @ViparSpectra 2x4x5 with the pair of XS1500 Pros. I’m all the way ready to rock in here.

If there’s by chance anybody who is a new grower or never grown indoor, it might help you to note that all of my cords are outside of the tent. The floor of the tent is 100% cord free. This is desirable for obvious reasons…space, water, neatness, and to make the chance of blowing a fuse or getting yourself shocked zero. It’s a practice I strongly suggest. The inside environment of a tent is much more humid down low than you think. There’s no reason to have cords in there. You know?

It’s part of a mindset that’s helpful to get into when your tent growing indoors. Keep the power away from water all the time. If you must use the floor, also water proof it.

One more invitee to the party…

If I can scrog out this clone from where it is now and not flip til the screen is filled, I easily have 40-ish days I think. Given that it was going to be the only plant in the tent and we have extra space, my thinking is, if I have 40 days I can drop a photo seed now, veg it for 40 days, keep it smallish if possible, and it’ll be no problem to flip with the scrog clone. Sounded like a plan to me, especially when I realized I had a three’s worth of the prepped FF Ocean Forest left. So done. I just dropped a seed of Bubblegum Sherbet, a photo from Blimburn. It’ll go in the 3 which I also prepped and go directly into the final pot upon sprout. From there she hits the 5x5 with the clone.

Bubblegum Sherbet
Blimburn Seeds
80/20 indica heavy feminized photoperiod
Bubblegum x Sunset Sherbet
30-32% THC
4.92 feet
Flowering: 55-65 days

He says like it's nothin'. 🙄

Prep Work and Distribution

I’ve been busy. Gotta take advantage of the time before I have three plants harvest at once. Lol. So I just got done prepping every pot we need for this grow with their appropriate medium.

Here’s the Blackberry Moonrocks and Double Grape in their final homes, ready for uppotting. I had to turn the @ViparSpectra XS1500 Pros up to 50% to achieve mid 400s ppfd at this distance.

Here’s the two pots for the closet and IN the closet, the Strawberry Gorilla ready to uppot and a packed pot for whichever auto pops the best. If both pop sweetly and I like them, I will add another auto to the closet grow. The choices of the autos in paper towels are Northern Lights and Cherry Pie.

Finally, @Azimuth will love this, here are the prepped soil organic pots.

The little guys are 1/2 gallon Phat Sacks.

Why four you ask? Well, because I’m taking a page from @NickHardy ’s playbook. He’s doing a Solo cup grow. I’m going to add these three half gallon pots and grow them out a la Nick’s Solo cups. They’re obviously larger, and I think I can pull an ounce from each easy. Little guys to go with the three. So that means we’d need four photos to fill the prepped pots. How about
Bubblegum Sherbet, Mountaintop Mint x M34, Junior Mint x MAC1, and Skywalker?

These are NASC freebies. I figure use up some freebies I know nothing about on the half gallon pots. Heh. So the 5x5 will have the clone in a 7 in the rig, 3 1/2-gallon photos, and one 3-gallon photo. The closet will house two (maybe 3) autos. And the ViparSpectra tent will house a two-auto scrog.

We are prepped for bear!

Btw - these pots suck. Worst pot ever made. I got a ten pack - I saw them and thought, oh perfect starter pot, and it is cloth, AND it has Velcro to open the pot for uppotting. So I tried one with a seedling the grow I got them. Went to uppot. IMPOSSIBLE. The Velcro doesn’t open enough to be useful. The pot is too small and tight when used to roll down the edges to get the plant out. I hade to cut the pot from the plant! Absolutely useless. I thought I had thrown them away and was surprised to find the three in use, guess I missed them. But this is perfect for them. Glorified Solo cup basically, big enough to produce a little something, and after the grow I’ll just toss them. I hate them. Glad I found A use for them. Lmao!

I think I can get 4oz out of a solo. I’ll get you know in 34 days (I’ll have a sense then) which is when my Strawberry Cheesecake auto is due to finish. In coco keep them wet all the time and the physical pot becomes less important. You’ll need a support system though - they fall over really easy!

Hi @Jon, can I ask you are you going to have the lights this high or are you going to lower them further? Or will you add power to the XS1500 PRO?

A solo is 12oz - those are 64oz?

100g+ easy. Get some airholes in the sides and plenty drainage in the bottom.
Cool, thanks. Don’t need drainage, they are mini cloth pots.

Hi @Kanno26 - well, right now they are seedlings. I prefer to begin them around 400-500 ppfd. So that’s where they are as you see them now. When I moved them into the pots and off the table, they of course became lower, so I turned the light up until it got me mid 400s ppfd at pot level. Right now the light is at 50%. It was at 25%. Ppfd reads 430-450. Once the plants have three or four sets of leaves I will turn the light up to 75% and get them into the 600-800 range, where they’ll stay for most of veg. When they flip themselves I will go to 100% and stay there the rest of the grow. Should get me to 1000-1100 ppfd for flower. The @ViparSpectra XS 1500 Pro is a real powerful light for its deceptively small size. They have plenty of juice to get the job done. First run with them the buds were nice and dense. The lights always stay where they are. The tent is only 5 feet tall, I need the vertical space.

Does that answer your question?
